Atari have a big exhibit at the Gamers Convention in Leipzig with this game what with a large tent housing multiple systems and TV's showing it off and playable. Out front there is 2 or 3 cars including the WTCC BMW replica and an Atari/Simbin liveried Dodge Viper GTS.

Looks like they are going to be publishing a version of Race on the 360 with 12 player MP.

Developed by SIMBIN who did the GTR series and Race/07 for the PC so it should be excellent. Check it out.

Actually I'm looking more forward to this game than Forza 3, it's all about the racing not drifting or painting but racing and if the tracklist of the PC versions is anything to go by then I cannot wait for this thing!

We're talking single class racing (WTCC S2000 regs) which means that success in multiplayer is going to be down to skill.

If the other Simbin stuff is anything to go by then the physics will be excellent. GTR/Legends and Race for PC are also best played with a wheel so maybe, for once we'll have a game for the 360 which really does the MS racing wheel some justice. G25 support would be nice though, pretty please!

This looks nice.. I'd actually like it back on the PC again because they'll actually take the time to make it a fun game with the gamepad, whereas the PC simbin games all pretty much require a wheel :/

Which mentions WTCC (which we already know), F3000 and Formula BMW. There are some higher BHP cars mentioned in there (Saleen :P) so looks like they've included some of the support races.

It seems that the GT cars in the screen shots are probably part of some ficticious race series. Some of those cars are not in the International GT Open which is running some of the WTCC support races and the team liveries look like they are made up anyway. I dug out this list of vehicles competing in that series this season:

Yes looks like ones from the screenshots are from the GT1 class. As per my previous post in this thread they seem have ficticious livery.

Well they have the licences, I think if you goto the Simbin website you can see the licences that they actually have.

Clear to see we have the WTCC cars, the FIA GT I hope for also.

The ones in the screenshots don't exist to my knowledge mate ( I mean the actual teams, not the cars ;) ) but maybe they're just development screenshots? The International GT open is the main support at some of the WTCC races but the cars in the screenshots aren't from that series (ie: there are no S7R's or CCGT's in the IGT Open). Not that it really matters, it's still going to be a great game.

The only thing i ask of is please make the A.I Good and much better than Codemasters Grid, because the A.I in Grid was so bad that it completely destroyed my enjoyment in that game And most Xbox 360 Racing Games! ok i know that Codemasters is a completely different company and team but nowadays games influence each other and i hope and pray that no racing game ever gets influenced by Grid im sorry to say here me out...

All the a.i only stuck to a particular racing line meaning that when taking corners they would all crash into the side of each other and it didnt make for any good replays or show any skill unlike the REAL World racers who try there best not to make contact with the other drivers and great overtaking maneuvers, because lets face it ITS A NON CONTACT SPORT! Ok accidents happen but not very often :nono: and when they do its normally a big crash or a DNF (Did not Finish for those who don't know there racing) so please lets see the Atari Masters at work and please make us a good Motor Racing Sim for the Xbox 360!

Not to mention Gametrailers has a new video of it with an S7 being driven round a UK circuit (forget the name) and also a member from another forum I admin has posted good quality ingame videos showing the game off really well in that aids will not make you faster like a certain other game on the 360.

We don't have a forum for this game and I don't even think this the best place for this topic, don't we have a General Gaming? (even though this is an Atari published title!) Kudos to Atari for being brave to do what THQ couldn't and I'm sure if they let Simbin do their thing and say when it's finished, they will have a success on your hands. A lot of people who play Forza are watching this game and that is a big amount of people!!

Ah yes you can buy those race ready Z4M's from BMW for about 250,000 Euros. That's twice as much as you would pay for a S2000 spec 320 touring car.

There's massive scope for DLC here. If you look at what they are doing with Race07 and GTR-Evolution, Simbin could theoretically bolt a whole new racing series and shedloads of cars onto this game.

Simbin have so much good stuff in the pipeline at the moment and I'd suggest that a certain Japanese developer plays some of these games and has a good think about what it takes to be "the real driving simulator"

Also word about 5 monthly DLC packs that will include GT Legends type content and Spa.

I can't wait to race Brands Hatch in this game, not done this properly since ToCA 2 (not Race Driver but the properly good ToCA 2)

Looks like the game is delayed slightly to January 2009 as it now says this on the official website where it used to say November 2008. IMO this is good though, if they need more time to make it the usual Simbin standard then let them do it.

Also Fanatac are supposedly working on a Porsche wheel to debut for Xbox 360 with this game. They got a working prototype that should be getting sent to Simbin for testing very shortly.

Ah yes the Fanatec Porsche wheel you can get for the PC/PS is a nice bit of kit but it's darned expensive. Mind you it's ludicrous that Microsoft are still forcing the proprietary card when it comes to racing wheels. Apart from having to fork out more cash for a separate wheel just to play on the 360 you have to find somewhere to store it! with the Simbin racers you really do need a wheel to get the most out of them and I really don't see Race Pro being an exception.

And I've just noticed the new Race Pro forum.... top stuff :D
