On Test Drive Unlimited (You may know it :wink2:) The other day I decided to reinact C'était un rendez-vous / and or Snow Patrol's Open You Eyes ... I was going to do a full version of C'était un rendez-vous but forgot to record the sound in FRAPS *headdesk* so had to stick with Open Your Eyes.

Enjoy

Is there anyway to embed the videos here?

Ok, but don't be cross with me if I say I didn't think much of it ..
I don't see the point in it because it has very little to do with the
original Claude Lelouch film, apart from using a 'Mercedes' with
a camera attached to the front like Lelouch did, but that's about it.
There was no music in the original, and there isn't even a rendez-vous
at the end, although I admit that is hard to do in TDU.

The music is good though. Never heard it before, but it sounds alright. :)

Thanks, well the music idea was from the UK Video [Open Your Eyes - Snow Patrol - UK Version] which can be found on youtube. It used 5 mins of the C'était un rendez-vous footage ... so I thought I'd do the same.

And for some reason, I'm not allowed to link to my own video as that's copyrighted .... strange .... rolleyesa Sometimes I don't get the "powers above here" ....

One would assume that I granted publicity of my own copyrighted material to be shown as I linked to it?

I'm assuming you used Snow Patrol's music as a backdrop to your video, which is copyrighted, and you don't have permission for that. That's why your link was removed. Upload the video without someone else's music and it will be OK.
I had never heard of C'était un rendez-vous before, found it online, quite good, and a bit scary that he drove like that on public roads, thanks for making me aware of that film anyway!

It's merely the engine sound that was added afterwards that
creates the illusion of high speed driving. Lelouch really didn't
drive much faster and irresponsible than an average
taxi driver would do at 5 am on an early summer morning.

Exactly right :) Please feel free to link to your own original work again if it doesn't breach any rules/license conditions.

Well in that case don't you think you should remove every video on here? Like Leadfoot's or even Diablo_'s etc? They have music in ... But you only seem to remove mine? Why is that? You know full-well the others are there ... you can't miss the thread titles.

I wouldn't make these "mistakes" if there was regularity in your moderating ...

I think you're being overly paranoid, if any other content was flagged to moderators that breached copyright then the moderator would assess the content and take appropriate action. We don't catch everything and we appreciate it when people take the time to inform us of things we might have missed.

Criticising moderators however is against the rules in a manner that just editing doesn't address.

I'm closing the thread for now as we're going off topic and into areas best discussed over PM. Iced, if you'd like to resubmit a link as suggested then let me know when you get back and I'll clean up the thread.
