Hey there, I'll keep it short. The game works very well. I'm getting excellent framerate. Having a blast playing. But then out of nowhere the game jitters and hick-ups. This it not online lag play. This is offline. Just driving by myself. When it happens it happens for exactly 4 or 5 seconds. Then it continues just fine. Is the game lagging because it's loading a new area into Ram? I've been seaching the forums for days and I can't find anything in regaurds to this. It's not locking up totally. Just a massive loss of frames for 4 or 5 second then it continues fine. But it's bad enough loss of frames that I almost always loose control of the car. I'm pretty sure I solved this problem once a year or so ago, But I re-installed last week and it has happened again. I've tried older drivers for my 7950GT as well as the newset driver. Anyone have any ideas? I bet this is a common problem but I just can't find anyone else talking about it. IT is not a total freeze, just a loss of frames every 3 or 4 minutes for 4 or 5 seconds. Thanks for any help!

I'm thinking background processes are stealing your PCs resources for a bit - ie Antivirus software doing a scan

Thanks for your input, I've turned off all anti-virus software and most other tasks in the background. It still happens. I'm running an E2180 overclocked to 2.2 GHZ. 2GB of ram, Asus 7950GT 512. Running 1680 rez the game runs insanly well. I'm getting over 65 FPS. Running deadly smoothly. So much fun. The pause/shuttering that happens is exactly the same each time. A simple loss of frames. 5 to 10 FPS, Enough to send me sailing off the road because of lack of response time on my behalf. I've found other people talking about this problem with Nvidia drivers, I'm currently going to try the BETA 77 somthing drivers from Nvidia & see if that solves the problem. I work at a computer store and we had the same problem on three of our gaming rigs at work. The game did the shuttering on all three computers. Rangeing from Quad cores to dual core systems. Only thing similar about the computers is that they all have Nvidia cards. This must be a driver thing. Anyone else deal with this same problem?

New drivers are always susceptible to new bugs, so don't forget to try older drivers as well.

Whatever did happen to randy - haven't seen him in ages?
Mines starting to do it too, after flawless performance for a year and a half. I recently DISABLED hard drive indexing so I suspect that may be the issue, or maybe a little dust buildup on my heatsinks. Ya also may want to check your available space on your drive- too little space and windows can't page properly.
