Simple
What class in Race Pro are you looking forward to racing in the most?
The ones announced so far:
WTCC 2007
WTCC 1987
WTCC Extreme
GT Club
GT Sport
GT Pro
Production Class
Mini Cooper Challenge
F3000
Formula BMW
Caterham Challenge
Radical SR's
Thoughts?

Mini coopers will be alot of fun, the WTCC is out of date by 2 years from the screenshots (2007, 2009 when the game will be released...) almost all of the cars are there, only a few need a re-skin... so it would be a shame to see anything less than the 2008 season's cars in the game.
Radicals and F3000 will also be fun.
Caterhams could be good,
FBMW is always interesting with slower Open-wheelers...
not sure about only 2 cars in the 87 WTCC though...
i don't see the appeal of WTCC Extreme
the GT classes could be good but i'd rather there were porkers and ferrari's in the mix too.
VVV_Hellbr1ng3r

Dont see the appeal of Extreme? Lol, have you seen the size of the bodykits? LOL
Reminds me of Super GT
AZT_Mad_Monk
15-12-2008, 21:46
no i'd rather run the Gt's than extremes, and i'd rather run the proper WTCC cars than the Extremes... ;D
VVV_Hellbr1ng3r
15-12-2008, 21:47
where's your sense of adventure? :D
GT cars would be fun, but its been done....whereas WTCC Extreme is a fantasy class, something completely new
Julio_Geordio_9
15-12-2008, 22:48
Caterham's and Coopers should make for some good racing.
Not sure where you've heard about only 2 cars in the 1987 class.......I'm sure I've read there'll at least be bmw's, ford sierras and alfa 75's in that series.
VVV_Hellbr1ng3r
15-12-2008, 22:55
No, Ford Sierra's havent featured before in Simbin's 'classic' WTCC class. Before it has been Alfa's and BMW's
WTCC 1987, if they get a 90's BTCC or WTCC championship in then yeehaaa! Plus with Spa and Nurburgring coming in DLC the future's definitely in the SimBin!
VVV_Hellbr1ng3r
15-12-2008, 22:59
Wonder how many #1's AlpineArts will take on the 'Ring in this game? ;)
Julio_Geordio_9

'360 Gamer' mag must have it wrong then as that is where I found that titbit of info

What did you find? You got a link?
Julio_Geordio_9
15-12-2008, 23:10
Nah....tis one of those real magazines lol
I quote......ahem......
"Nor is the WTCC limited to the contemporary and the ficticious: the 1987 championship - the last time the WTCC ran until it was revived in 2005 - also features, for those who prefer to drive around in old BMW's, Ford Sierras and Alfa 75's" - 360 Gamer Magazine
VVV_Hellbr1ng3r
15-12-2008, 23:12
havent seen the license badge for Ford at all in any RP trailers.
And (going by past WTCC/GTR PC titles) Simbins 1975 WTCC Challenge has only ever been 2 cars. Each car (Alfa & BMW) had 1 livery each...:\

I don't know then mate.
Looking forward to WTCC 07/Extreme - GT class (porche as DLC please) - F-3000 - Radical SR's. For now WTCC 07 is my most wanted class.

I'm personnally looking forward to GT Pro & Open Wheel racers...
Ever since I saw it on Top Gear, I can't wait to "Sim-race" the Gumpert Apollo & it's been a while since I've Sim-raced open wheelers (Toca 2).

Sadly, Simbin could not put a Caparo T1 in their game as the car rarely puts in a lap without losing parts or worse catching fire. The simulation of such a low reliability car would have been a bit too much :gaga:
I'll enjoy my vitual Apollo thank you.

All the classes are extremely enticing but i have to say i look forward most to the GT Pro class. Ive always wanted to race DBR9s and C6Rs in a sim racer on a console, so this is a dream come true for me, i can already tell though that im absolutely going to love the WTCC and F3000 classees too. Cheers everyone!!!:)
Without a doubt: Mini Cooper Challenge.. These cars provide so much close and intense racing at a reasonable speed that even beginners and pro drivers can handle them very well. Little top car :)

Indeed BramH,it's certainly going to be a lot of fun to use these car's.

Seriously, it's probably the GT classes I'm most looking forward to.

The Mini coopers should provide close and anjoyable racing as they are relatively low powered FWD cars, so they should be close and you won't need a great deal of skill to drive them without spinning.
However to be really fast, you're gonna need to be able to push the car to the absolute limit every lap, because in a slower car it is much harder to gain time back, and you're also going to need consistency. Because one mistake will (comparably) cost you alot of time...

You loved those muscle cars on FM2 didn't you mate!
Personally I couldn't stand them.:nono:
Back on topic and to be honest I don't really have a particular preference at the moment. Im that desperate for a racing game I would probably race in a lawnmower!
Theres an idea maybe I should develop a lawnmower racing game using XNA.:)
AZT_Mad_Monk
17-01-2009, 23:57
yeah, speaking from real life knowledge of Ford Fiesta racing you shouldn't be afraid to throw a FWD car into the corners and the use the power to straighten it back up. And don't forget to use the gas not the brake if you start to spin

LOL, yea I ended up loving them. Hated them at first. They're a bit like beer in that they are a aquired taste. First few sips and you're like uhh this tastes like ****, but after a while it starts tasting better and better.

I thought Dyson generally had the power in a Ford Fiesta beat these days? ;) [although if this has a FWD you can spin that'll be interesting]
I like the muscle cars, I just think they should have been in their own class.
As for this game, I doubt I'll bother much with the open wheel. Depends if, as a sim, they surprise me. FM2 has some tricky cars, some underpowered cars and some stuff that handles so well it's more or less like playing grid. So in this I'm kind of expecting the Caterham to be fun in the way the Shelby Cobra is, so that gets my vote, and I'm waiting to be surprised by the others...but if there's any class of cars that handling wise are easy, I probably won't bother with them and that's most likely to be open wheel.

i tell you what leachim, you hold a dyson onto the back of my fiesta and stand still and i'll try and drive away, then we'll see who's boss ;D
they are suprisingly quick to be honest, when you've literally stripped everything off the car and there's no extra weight on it (we're talking removing the rear windscreen wipers and the door seals here) then it becomes very fast, the Fiesta Si class have got 1.6 liter engines and i think you'd be suprised at how many sportscars and their Dysons it could beat over a lap ;D

Fix and repair are the same thing, so that is a pretty poor attempt at being clever.
Also, despite what preconceptions you may have, Ford has improved a lot in recent years. I remember reading maybe a year ago that Ford achieved the #1 rank for vehicle quality, beating out Toyota. So actually Ford makes the highest quality vehicles pretty much now. They used to make some real ****, but times change.

Yes that was from some very early info that had been leaked,it was on the same list which featured the car's and tracks and most of them are known to be true,so it could be accurate. It certainly would be appriciated.

Nice stats there Silk ;)
Factory - it would be awesome to see TRC back at full strength for this new racing game - There's a lot of TRC members already active on the Forza events at IFCA, be good to see a show of force when Race Pro comes out - I have an idea for an IFCA Club Hotlap Challenge (http://forums.eu.atari.com/showthread.php?t=87371&page=7), much like the early Forza one's that were done by VVV, TRC & D2C

I would love to see TRC back at full strength as well. I think the only thing that would do that is car club leaderboards though. But we will definitely represent the club name in this game, and maybe even pick up some new talent along the way......
