Race Pro features 13 different Real World tracks, and with a total of 20 variations in all, you have plenty to race ;)
So which one are you looking forward to the most?
Confirmed:
Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba (Curitiba, Brazil) -- GP Circuit; Oval
Autodromo Nazionale Monza (Milano, Italy) -- GP Track; Junior Track
Automotodrom Brno (Brno, Czech Republic) -- GP Circuit
Brands Hatch Circuit (Fawkham, UK) -- GP Circuit; Indy Circuit
Circuit de Pau (Pau, France) -- GP Circuit
Circuit Park Zandvoort (Zandvoort, Holland) -- GP Circuit; Club Circuit
Circuit Ricardo Tormo (Valencia, Spain) -- GP Circuit; Long Circuit; National Circuit
Circuito da Boavista (Porto, Portugal) -- GP Circuit
Circuito da Guia (Macau, Macau) -- GP Circuit
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (Monterey(CA), USA) -- GP Circuit
Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (Oschersleben, Germany) -- A-Course; B-Course
Road America (Elkhart Lake(WI), USA) -- GP Circuit
Scandinavia Raceway (Anderstorp, Sweden) -- GP Circuit
For me, I cant wait for Brands Hatch, but I also love Curitiba
Being a Swede, Anderstorp has a special feel :)
Although Brno is a nice track as well. Just hoping Spa will come as a DLC soon because that is my all time favourite track.

Yeah, Its has been highly rumoured that for future DLC, this is what we'll see....
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Francorchamps, Belgium) -- GP Circuit
Nürburgring (Nürburg, Germany) -- GP Circuit; Nordschleife; Endurance Layout
I was so looking forward to Nur F1 on Forza 2, but they never released it! I know it was built! lol

Macau or Brands hatch indy ;D
Since Simbin probably has highly detailed models of many tracks since their previous games I hope there will be quite alot of tracks available for download. Nürburgring and Spa has been mentioned, but I hope for Donington, Magny Cours, Hockenheim, Imola, Dijon and many more :)
Being British, it has to be Brands Hatch!
Seriously though, I've never seen the layouts for most of the tracks before, so I have no idea how they are going to drive, except for the obviousness of Seca and RA.

Brands GP circuit FTW!!
There was a presspack leaked that stated 7 DLC's including the known Spa and Nurburgring, 2 of these were rumoured to be free but whether this is cars only or track only is unknown.
We'll just have to wait and see. And as you know everything is subject to change as none of it is official!

Laguna Seca/Road America and Macau

Road America should be very fun. F3000's there should be a blast
I always liked and hated Road America due to one particular, the one that goes slightly up and right and it's an immediate kink left after the bridge. Always through me off that one. My favourite of the list of what I know would have to be Brands Hatch though, carrying too much speed down that first corner sending your rear fishtailing and then miraculously saving it Giovanardi style would be so much fun imo, if not impossible as that save was from God himself I think.

road america's too long and boring... i like tracks that don't let you rest between corners.
This is the control I am talking about, how he holds this I do not know!
Fabrizio Giovanardi at Brands Hatch (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DMLVU-IcP3Q&fmt=18)
Monza
Brands Hatch
Laguna Seca
Well Fabrizio gets a lot of practise from being nerfed by Plato all the time. Dirty cheater :p

naa... it's great for getting bored in a straight line ;D
you've got to be in fast cars to enjoy it i think, in the WTCC or FMW's it'll be boring... but GT's through the kink will be fantastic ;D

Well on Forza it was fun if the race is tight. People jostling for position on the straight and you can often expect some people to not brake early enough and go flying off the turn, lol.
Road America plays very differently from Laguna Seca. I like the variety myself. Also, I am always excited for Nurburgring I guess, racing the track never gets old to me.
I am always excited for Nurburgring I guess, racing the track never gets old to me.That is the ultimate track for me along with Spa. I also would really like to see Oulton Park come back to racing games again, that's a good course and it was very easy to lose it at the mid section where it's high speed.
Ah the good old ToCA/2 days.
I am looking forward to many of these, especially since I have never played many of them.
I hope the ring gets brought in. I love that track.

Aswell as finally getting a very near,or as close as video game can get to being accurate, yes i too am really looking forward to racing on the nurburgring, but what i really want to see is how well they have done the swooping right handed dip on brands hatch.

Plato, a cheater? He gives as good as he gets my friend, and he has got a lot worse than he has given, believe me. I've been to every BTCC race since 2004, when Plato came back into it and I've got to say he has an outstanding talent but a bigger personality.
"It ain't racin' unless your rubbin'"
Leta hope Plato stays with the BTCC next year even though SEAT are gone. If he does'nt times are going to get very boring indeed.
edit: Irrelevant and in the wrong place.

I have never been much of a fan of spa. It's a very fast track, but then everything seem's to come to a grinding halt on the last 3-4 corners.Online i can just see that being a nightmare when it comes to racing.

Spa is a great track online, had some very fun races on it in GTL.

I guess it just depend's on what group of people your with,if your with a bunch of people who know hwo to race but expect bumps and smashes to happen then it can all be enjoyable.
As for myself,i don't have a friends list as i never know when i will be on and really i just play video games to relax and take my mind off the day so i depend on peace and quiet. This however leads to being put in random room's with god knows who and 9 out of 10 its been a bad experience on any game not just racing so my main objective for Race pro is to concentrate on fast laps on my own and just enjoy the friendly banter with you chap's on here.

I can say I've only had good experiences in terms of Forza, when you are racing with people you "know" and are used to. I very rarely "random race" preferring to only race with people I know and a few they may know. People are a lot more careful of accidents etc. when they know the person will be able to find them tomorrow as easily as looking down a list. We do also have a tendency to run at fast speeds, and as such racecraft is much more important.
I do feel a community is very important in a game such as this, in real racing series everybody knows each other (even if they don't like them) and respect each other, and each others lines. Accidents do happen, and people do get frustrated (David Coulthard in his final Grand Prix. Special Livery, and gets taken off at the first corner. Don't want to know what was said after that one. ANGRY SCOTSMAN)
One thing I do know is if you don't know a track, you are much more likely to cause a smash, due to being on the wrong line, and therefore having to tiptoe around a corner.
I'm sure there will be a few race events on this forum so we can all get together and have a go at it :)

I just hope for Simbin that aswell as the sim racing fans,i hope this game also gets bought by a lot of new gamers to the racing scene, yes we all want people to race with who can keep it clean and can corner at 70-100mph without worry that we are going to get our door's taken off.But i really do appriciate Simbin actually taking the chance to go out of there way to create this game.
It can't be easy having the intensions for a super realistic racing game when the whole point of consoles is pick up and play based games and more so when it comes to racers which is why the turdish need for speed, grid etc sell so well even though to the trained eye these games are very very bad.
In the end i hope it all pays off for Simbin for making this game and gets the appriciation it deserves, and in buisness terms that means sell's by the bucket load.
From the Disc = Brands Hatch
From DLC = Spa
Hoping to see Donnington at some point.....
Brako_UK
31-12-2008, 14:57
Yes Donnington would also be a great additition. That's one of the thing's consoles are missing, mod tracks etc.Damn shame but i suppose consoles are all about making the money off anything...........especially one owned by Microsoft.
Is snetterton anygood?i may have spelt that wrong, but my father in-law always talk's about it being a great track for classic racing although i have never seen it myself.

I used to love Snetterton - great track with a killer final section

I know it'll probably never happen but my local: Oulton Park (the driver's choice) would be fantastic for the touring cars - potential drama at every corner. That was my favourite on the old TOCA games with Thruxton a close second because you could take almost the whole circuit flat out!
That was why thruxton was so boring :p
Donington is the best (ok I might be biased, it's my local :p)

The solution being just keep adding BHP until you have to brake ;) which is nuts because the old super tourers used to top out about 10-15MPH more than the S2000's of today.
Donny is a cracking track though and Simbin have got it pretty spot on with GTR2 and Evo. It does feel a bit more "right" in GTR2 though (as do a lot of the tracks) but that may be more to do with the handling model.
Donny's in Evo?! I missed that :O

I beg your pardon sir, GTL! not Evo (evo on the brain)

Well, I imagine it'll be bought by people who have Forza 2 [and possibly a PGR or two] Which is a wide ranging skill base and age range from the people I've seen.
Even if you think forza 2 isn't a particularly hardcore sim, it's clearly not an arcade racer like need for speed or grid. They sold shedloads of copies, and it has a fairly big active community that [ignoring the painting side] seem to want a racing game / tuning game.
For this to do as well as Forza probably depends on the marketing, but I can't see it doing worse than Grid and probably will do a lot better.
So, I think they've got a winner just by the interest shown in that community...similarly from Grid too, because there was a sizable number of folk on codemasters forums upset at Grid's handling when it appeared.
I know on the PC racing games probably seem to only have a hardcore fan base, but this might just be because keyboard + mouse are useless for playing racing games, so you need a wheel and once you've got a wheel you're clearly into racing games.
Whereas a console controller isn't as fun as a wheel, but it's certainly useable as one. That's the main reason I've no racing game on my PC [and this week Race 07 was a fiver! But I don't want 2 wheels and with k+m the game would be a waste of space. Even grid would be a waste of space on the PC without a wheel]
So it doesn't surprise me that racing games appear to have a kind of niche hardcore sim fanbase on the PC, rather than the very well selling titles on consoles. But I don't think it's purely because of the supposed difficulty of these games, I just think the average PC owner can't play a racing game without spending dosh on wheel and finding space for it, whereas your average console user can.

Good point. Will be interesting to see how well race pro copes if it is as "hardcore" as the OXM review suggests, hopefully it's a success and simbin (and others) will release more sim-racers for consoles.

I suppose it can cost a small fortune having to upgrade the pc everytime a new game comes out too.I could be over stepping the truth a tad there but i have heard it's a ball ache having to keep upgrading pc's for certain games.
The only tracks I've played on before are Laguna and Road America, and most of the rest are complete unknowns for me. (I've heard of them, but know nothing about them)
So, none of them are really "must plays" as of yet.

Brands Hatch is my local track, i live about 45 minutes away from it so it's got to be my favourite. The indy circuit is a brilliant track for spectators as you can see the whole track from the paddock hill bend grandstand and it's nice and close to the 2 best corners on the track, Paddock and Druids.

tup: Definitely the best spectators track in this country, if not the world. Are you getting down for WTCC in July and BTCC in Apr/Oct?
