This comparison is to see the difference in layout on Laguna Seca in both Forza2 and Race Pro. Obviously the graphics are impossible to compare since one is a screenshot from a video and one is from the ingame photomode.

Can you tell I'm bored waiting for the demo? :hin:

You should have used the same cars in FM2 as shown in Race Pro. Even painted to look identical with the decals, and in the exact same position, etc. Would have been a good exercise doing #4 like that.

they are good shots, it's a shame you used the standard def laguna video, but i definitely reckon that race pro looks better

It's the HD version (1280x720), although screens tend to look worse.

ah, it looks much better on the actual video doesn't it ;D

cannot wait for this game, better than forza graphically and simulation wise

While searching for Race Pro in picture media I found a promo shot (render) showing a good side by side race between a BMW and a Seat (maybe?) and it was clearly in the rain. Would have made a hell of a wallpaper.

There is a UK magazine with a front page feature Race Pro as it's main title.

It's got a 6 or 8 page feature, but I haven't bought the magazine yet. The magazine is called xbox360 Gamer, or something like that. Didn't look like the article had anything different in it compared to what we already know, but it may be something to look at in the upcoming weeks (WH Smith is the only place I have ever seen that magazine)

(Diablo_: Move this post where you see fit, or just delete this ending)

I know theres rain, I was saying 'I hope' to Mad Monk saying it had better physics.

You better start using the quoting function if you don't want to be misunderstood ;)

Although there's nothing to hope about, the physics will be better, there's no doubt about, not that it takes that much to beat Forza2.

Have you held it? Have you played it?

I wont beleive something until I play it with my own hands. I have high hopes, dont get me wrong

But this is a new engine

No, although I've played every other game Simbin has made.

If you think for one second that Simbin would develop a new engine with lesser physics than their previous ones that's a bit far fetched.

Yeah, it looks like Turn 10 ran out of blue to paint the kerbs :)

Personally i dont think you can fault the graphics of either Forza 2 or Race pro, with both you can clearly see what's what.I was reading a magazine artical the other day and it was compairing the graphics to GRID and saying there not as good which i thought would be obvious.

Forza 2 and Race pro were obviously built for the hardcore racer, yes forza is a arcade racer, but it did something that no other arcade racer had done before, put the effort in.

It's almost a shame Race pro is going to knock Forza right down, but hopefully now we will see more game companies try to release some sim racing titles

Farfetched yes, but the point is, the PC games all have their evolved gaming engine, and PC's processors can take on a LOT more calculations than the 360 can. The PC's physics will therefore be more detailed, and over-polished.

All Im saying is that in theory it could feel different, as its a totally different platform,, and a totally different style of coding

Can they? The PC I had when I got my xbox had a 3200+ xp chip. It still does. At what point did it get faster than a 360's processor?

My new computer might be quicker, but it seems remarkable that Simbin have released "award winning" games for years that no one had the processor to run :)

That isn't necessarily true. Since the physics are core to the gameplay those need to work on the game's minimum specs. When they are designing for the 360 they can push the optimized 360 architecture right to the limit. They don't need to worry about people running at minimum spec. The 360's tri-core processor is very good at handling physics with a high general speed. Forza 2's physics/telemetry engine runs at 360 fps, which is incredible. And I don't care what Brako trolls about Forza 2 because I will just ignore him lol.

Not to mention one of the reasons Simbin developed their new Lizard engine in house is because the previous one they licensed was hard to work with and was quite the resource hog. Now they've developed it entirely by themselves so I think they have the know-how in optimizing it and getting it to do exactly what they want :)

They said in interview they've enough data to keep a Cray busy and the trick is picking which data to use on the platform that it'll be used on.

From the interview on the video at the Italian site, the guy in that said that game play was the same they didn't really treat it differently. When he talks about the power of the PC platform he just mentions eye candy.

I doubt very much that the physics in this will be different than in race 07 because of processing power.

first i would like to say im new to this,,,2nd thing is forza 2 was released in 07 and race pro in 09 thats a 2 year gap so we will compare forza 3 with race pro and i just cant wait to do wtcc on race pro
