Does anyone know if the cars featured in Race pro will actually need tuning or have they been done so that they are as accurate to there racing counter part and wont need tuning?.
Also i heard that there is now a penalty envolved for when someone smashes into another car,do it twice and your off.I really hope this is the case as it will really keep the leaderboards in order instead of people cheating as was done on the Forza 2 leaderboards.
By that comment i am reffering to when people used to push one another across the finish line and what not.
They have made good setups for every car, although they set it up to understeer slightly rather than oversteer, dont remember where I heard this though.
Never heard of that penalty system, although it sounds like a good idea :)

Thanks for the info nagge. The comment i made about the crashing etc was what was first giong around when the game started to get press attention, apparently it said something along the lines of,crash into a car and you get a warning,do it again and your off.
Now not only would this help leaderboard cheating tactics, but also make people drive better online instead of smasming and not having to worry about it.
Oh you mean the flag system? getting a black flag is no good ;)
But I would think that you will be able to switch if off, hopefully it will have to be on in order to post times.

Yes i really hope that is the case also.It would be a shame to see innocent people having there lap times wiped off because the top 5 times are done by cheating, that's why i gave up with Forza 2 after 3 months.
Yes it was a fun game but you have to wonder why they used to wipe the top 1000 times rather than just punish those that broke the rules,as for the flag system to work in the race,i just hope people dont abuse it the way they abuse the report system on the actual xbox.
If there is a fault in the system that gets discovered so that if someone hit you from behind, not only them but your self get a flag then thats just going to cause problems for everyone.
I am a person who loves clean racing but at the same time you have to expect crashes, but there is a big difference for fighting for the corner and crashing and deliberately charging right into the back or side of someone.

search on youtube for something like 'race pro brands hatch gameplay' and there is a vid of someone going through the car set-up menus ;D
it's in depth to say the least ;D

Just checked the video,so there is tuning involved.Hopefully it will be more accurate to that of Forza 2,by that i mean that i hope you have to actually tune correctly,no wild spring settings which would in reality rip your tires off and steal your soul.

Hehe, tuning is what this game is about. for me at least :)
Just hope they implement a decent telemetry system as well.

Cheaters got wiped on the forza boards after 3 months, 99.9% of top times now are all legit.

im hoping you can download setups. I dont know how to tune and im not gona bother someone to make me a tune constantly!
FM1 you could get setups, FM2 you can't and i have no interest in this game in part because of it. Race Pro - im hopeful! : S

I'm not really bothered if you can download setups or not.
Like the chillster though, I don't tune cars. It is a black art which I've never grasped.
I just hope the people that I know who can tune cars buy this game :)
They have made good setups for every car, although they set it up to understeer slightly rather than oversteer, dont remember where I heard this though. You are right and I heard that exact same phrase too but not sure where so we can't both be crazy and hear things that haven't been said. Can we?

Well because there wont be a type of auction house to sell tuned cars on,i can see people really helping out on here for people that are struggling with the tuning process, much like the playstation 3 community do with the gran tourismo 5 demo.
But also learning to tune the cars yourself adds a lot more lasting appeal to the game, you will most likely struggle for the first few weeks but once you pick a car you really enjoy racing,it will be fun to just test the car and make minor tuning arrangments to it.

I really find this one of the greatest aspects of a good driving sim, trying out new setups to scrape of those last tenths :)

I don't really know, but in Race '07 you could get punctures so it would make sense if they kept it in this game as they are promoting it as a sim and "the real deal".

Well its a good job that there are some real-life tuners in VVV ;)
Maybe this could be the game that Atari could test a community portal with, in being able to swap setups, pics and maybe even replay files and ghosts! Though I think the games development would have had to have had this in mind while it was being made. Who knows if the game is popular this could be something they could do for the next one.

Swapping setups would be a cool feature, tuning help also!
But I hate to admit when the top teams start developing they wont wanna share a thing! :(
