No, unfortunately, vBulletin will only allow someone with greater permissions than the OP to edit them (unless they are a Mod). It's not a biggy, just under the Atari T&C's forum-wise, someone could say something.

By the way, I'm interested!

Possibly too many superlatives there. or maybe sarcasm. one thing I do know is something ain't right with the general tone weirdblue

AZT_Mad_Monk
18-12-2008, 22:32
no superlatives there ;D

In grammar the superlative of an adjective or adverb is the greatest form of adjective or adverb which indicates that something has some feature to a greater degree than anything it is being compared to in a given context. For example, if Adam is 45, Bess is 35, and Chris is 25, Adam is the oldest of the three, because his age transcends those of Bess and Chris in one direction, while Chris is the youngest, because his age transcends those of Adam and Bess in the other direction. If Dan, who is 50, and Edna, who is 20, join the group, Dan now becomes the oldest and Edna the youngest.

Guys.. I am serious about the advertising thing. Stop trying to use the official Atari forums for that purpose.

If you want to talk about racing, races etc. cool, but this isn't the place to talk about or encourage sponsers/commercial stuff.

Given the gap between the Race PRO demo and the full game's releases, if the demo allows us the Race World Series will be running a small taster championship on the Race PRO Demo. The exact specifications for the championship will depend on the Demo's options in terms of tracks and cars but you can be assured of a good time ;D

Click on my signature or THIS (http://raceworldseries.proboards.com) link to be taken to the homepage of the Race World Series forums

AZT_Mad_Monk

yeah the forums are getting a little slow at the mo, but i'm sure that it's because the hype has died down a bit because we know the release date isn't for a couple of months, but remember we're looking to do a little mini series in the demo, so you'll only have to wait at least another month to get some hardcore Race World Series action!

AZT_Mad_Monk
08-01-2009, 17:34
we're currently discussing a potential safety car system, where if there is a crash involving 3 or more cars the leader will become the temporary safety car, see more details about this system on our forums.

also note we have confirmed that we will be running a couple of test events on the Race PRO Demo, so get signed up, as no-one knows how soon the demo may come out!

14-01-2009, 23:32
So does this mean signing up again to a new site?

AZT_Mad_Monk
14-01-2009, 23:49
yeah it will do, but signing up to the new site will be alot easier (allowed to use capital letters and spaces in your username for starters...) and it will bring with it the benefits of having no advertising for anyone a .org adress, a faster and more reliable server, allowing us to do much more stuff with the site, giving us more space to archive results and laptimes and removing the .proboards.com from the adress... all together 5 minutes from your part goes towards a massive difference on everyone's part ;D,

the forums we currently use are a bit '**** about face'... there are alot of things that could be done alot better, and these issues will be resolved by bringing in the new forums.

AZT_Backfire
15-01-2009, 00:13
We must insist the advantages of the new forum though, as george has stated above, this should get the championship ball rolling a lot smoother and faster too.

Cannot wait for this thing to kick off, just the problem of chosing a car! so many nice looking cars!

AZT_Mad_Monk
15-01-2009, 19:38
Chevrolet for the win ;D i don't want to choose a car that is going to be spammed by everyone else like priaulx's BMW... but i like running with the proper manufacturer teams.

AZT_Backfire
15-01-2009, 19:41
Definately. I think everyone will go for the popular cars at the begining (priaulx, Muller etc etc) But personally, I would like to use a car that no one else is using such as an Alfa or a Chevy.

AZT_Mad_Monk
15-01-2009, 19:45
yeah, the alfa is nice, but i think the chevvy just looks too good with about 6.5 degrees of camber ;D

AZT_Backfire
15-01-2009, 20:03
Yeah, IMO, the more camber the better ;D

Dont find the seat particularly attractive to be honest, the chevy and the alfa are the best looking ;D

AZT_Mad_Monk
15-01-2009, 20:13
We've forgotten about the Honda, The N-Technology one in the 2008 WTCC looks great and so does the grey one in race 07 (i'm unsure about the liveries in race pro...) but i recon all of the cars are good looking except for the alfa

The Race World Series moderators have announced that there will be an official Race-Pro demo championship, Dave Driveshaft takes us through the features the championship is likely to include.

It's the moment that us avid racing fans have been waiting for, we could catch a hint of it's smell in the air and taste it's sweet blood every time a BMW or Seat Leon drove past in the street, and now it's here. The Race World Series demo championship has been announced, and with it will come the first taste of RWS action for everyone to see! Unfortunately we haven't been able to fully access the full list of features of the demo, but we have been able to find out from the championship co-ordinators a list of features that the Demo series will be likely to include.

The first slice of information goodness that we were told was that the series will definitely include all of the car classes and all of the tracks that we are given on the Demo later this month, and the weather is very likely to come at least once in the championship, so bring your wellies too!

We were also told that the races are likely to be in a sprint race format, (options allowing) the race meetings will include a qualifier, at least 1 heat and a final. But depending on the race length there may well be 2 or mabye even 3 heats to decide the top 12 for the A final. So no matter how many laps the races are you will still end up guaranteed with a great night's racing.

Unfortunately due to the small amount of time between the Demo and the Full game release it means the championship might have to branch out and race on Wednesday nights as well as on Sundays, however the races will always be at the same time of 20:00 UTC, so you won't get confused about the time.

There are some merits to the demo championship, all you need to do is sign up to each individual race, rather than sign up to the championship as a whole, so you can jump in and out at any time. There aren't any teams either, so it's every man for himself here, with one dropped round at the end of the championship.

All in all, the Demo Championship is looking good, there's also a possibility of a prize to the winner, so it's well worth getting signed up!

That's all from me, you can see more information in this (http://race-shopworldseries.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=42) thread:

Thanks for reading
Dave Driveshaft

we're not allowed to post the link in our sigs because apparently the site is 'too commercial' you have a PM about this but you still haven't replied.

we're not allowed to post the link in our sigs because apparently the site is 'too commercial' you have a PM about this but you still haven't replied.

It wasn't originally commercial, and was therefore allowed. Then you wanted to change the name of the site to be commercially related and quite correctly asked if it was okay. It was ruled that probably no it wasn't okay, but we would think about it.

Despite being told of this and without waiting for further news, you, and other members, changed the links anyway to point to the commercially related site. I should have banned at least you for going against moderator's instructions, but instead just removed the link again until we'd come a decision. Repeatedly trying to get around the ruling or moaning about it is not going to do you any favours. If you can't work with us on these forums then we'll have no choice but to prevent any discussion of the non-Atari forum here.

AZT_Mad_Monk

I haven't changed any of my links! i've been waiting for you and diablo to PM me back, and you still haven't... i haven't done anything wrong :(

how can you say the site is 'comercially related'? it's for running a Racing series no different from the IFCA or the V-WTCC... changing the name of the site doesn't effect the commercial values of it becuase we'll post links without using the site adress instead...

EDIT: also i told the forum-members not to use the sigs on these forums... but some of them still did and that's beyond my control... HERE (http://race-shopworldseries.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=16) is the proof.

I haven't changed any of my links! i've been waiting for you and diablo to PM me back, and you still haven't... i haven't done anything wrong :( Someone changed your signature to point to the new site name. If it wasn't you then I apologise.

how can you say the site is 'comercially related'? it's for running a Racing series no different from the IFCA or the V-WTCC... changing the name of the site doesn't effect the commercial values of it becuase we'll post links without using the site adress instead...A name can be a commercial entity if it is used to advertise something.

I don't know why you wanted to change it - it was all fine before and we were happy for you to have your signatures etc. pointing to the site.

AZT_Mad_Monk
21-01-2009, 20:49
I don't know why you wanted to change it - it was all fine before and we were happy for you to have your signatures etc. pointing to the site.

We wanted to use new forums because the old ones were full of google adverts (so we've actually reduced advertising on the new forums) and because we didn't want proboards in the adress (so we still had advertising in the name anyway...) The new forums are much better for us to use than the old ones and much easier for our members to use too. I've already listed the advantages to changing forums so i won't bore you with them again ;D

yes it was me who changed the link in my sig, but i put the new adress in by mistake, i was going to put the old forums adress in but i accidentally put the new adress in instead, i had copied the adress from one of the tabs in my browser, and i must have been on the wrong tab when i copied the adress... so sorry about that :( (it's linked to this topic now instead)

kalniel
21-01-2009, 20:52
I'm asking why you didn't call them raceworldseries.org? - that would have been a better fit with the name of the series (and is available).

AZT_Mad_Monk
21-01-2009, 20:54
no because the name of the series is 'Race-Shop World Series' which we chose because we thought it would be better for the sponsors. We only call it the race world series on these forums because you said we aren't allowed to say race-shop

kalniel
21-01-2009, 21:08
how can you say the site is 'comercially related'?
You've just answered your own question then:
no because the name of the series is 'Race-Shop World Series' which we chose because we thought it would be better for the sponsors.

And we go from
I haven't changed any of my links!
to this:
yes it was me who changed the link in my sig

Even if the change was a (convenient) mistake, it's not very nice to lie about who did it. :(

AZT_Mad_Monk
21-01-2009, 21:12
well if that's your definition of comercially related the name was comercially related before and you allowed it... and now that the site is still comercially named and doesn't contain any adverts you've banned it? seems silly to me... But the point is that you don't even have to see the names, we'll link the site by url'ing a word instead of writing an adress and the name might as well be
www.comeandspendyourmoneyonsomethingyoudontneed-racing.com ;D

AZT_Backfire
21-01-2009, 21:13
dont worry, delete this.

kalniel
21-01-2009, 21:20
Right, so your saying we can have 'RACE WORLD SERIES' in our sigs and link it to the new site?

I'm saying probably not, but we're thinking about it. However going ahead and changing them anyway hasn't exactly helped sway things in your favour.

I was clear with you guys from the start about the commercial concerns, but you've always seemed to want to push against the boundaries. These forums aren't meant to be used to advertise any non-atari sites, but we do allow some fansites to advertise.. however anyone or sponsors taking business advantage of that threatens to undermine the work of genuine non-commercial fan-sites, and we won't allow that to happen.

AZT_Mad_Monk
21-01-2009, 21:29
I was clear with you guys from the start about the commercial concerns, but you've always seemed to want to push against the boundaries.

I've always asked permission for any links that i've added or any posts that i've submitted, and i understand the rules about advertising. All we want to do is advertise our tournament here, in our sigs like the IFCA or RaceDepartment, and in this thread like we have. Nothing we post here will have any commercial connatations. (spelling? ;D)

We're not trying to sell any goods to you or any of the atari forum members, we just want to run a championship, provide entertainment and have a good laugh with our community, and the more racers we get will only make the championship better for everyone, as the biggest majority of our visitors come to us through this site it is very important to me that we stay here and provide the championship to as many users as possible.

Besides this is a 'genuine non-commercial fan-site' it's Race-Shop's site that is commercial

Thanks for your help Kal

Inreponse to what the IFCA has posted on their thread, where Chilled was talking about how soon we will be starting the championship after the game is released, we'll be starting our first main championship on the Fourth sunday after the game is released, so if the game is released in europe on Friday February 13th, you will have 3 weeks and 2 days before the first race, obviously if the game is delayed for America then they will be able to join into the championship as soon as they get the game, but we're pretty sure it won't be delayed ;D

This takes place at the right time for me so I'm hoping it'll be a no-assist, full sim championship ;)

AZT_Mad_Monk

no line, way to kick me in the balls lol, im slow enough as it is, no matter no knowing my breaking points :|. no TCS, ABS and STM i can deal with but line, oh god..

The line isn'y dynamic in this game anyway so it probably wouldnt be of as much help racing

AZT_Mad_Monk
28-01-2009, 19:12
yes but the line fails, there's no point having it if you're not going to use it :) and by losing it it will help some of the slower drivers to become better by driving without it. Remember how many people used to say 'before i raced here i couldn't drive without TCS, now i don't even use ABS'?

PzR_Tak

The line is useless once you are used to it not being there. The only times I ever use it are when learning a track with a new car, (usually the nurburgring, as you get less laps for your time), so an idea where the braking points are. The line is always wrong though (on Forza), and if it's static on Race Pro, just learn where the points are. Once you've done enough laps, you get a feel for the track anyway. (You've seen the Porto vid. No line was available on that one)

AZT_Mad_Monk
28-01-2009, 19:23
The line is one of the best ways to learn a track because it will let you know what direction the next corner goes by which side of the track it is on, but apart from that it's only good for reference points as to acceleration and where to cross it on the track if it's a flat out corner and you don't need to use the whole road. It's generally not any good for showing you the best racing line ;D

Brako_UK
28-01-2009, 19:27
Perhap's the static race line on Race PRO is based on a real life track, dpending what track you pick it could have the fastest real life line that had been used and then it's just a case of beating that line when you get good enough.

AZT_Mad_Monk
28-01-2009, 23:57
it could be, i don't know but i reckon on a 'perfect' game where the physics are 100% accurate you would still be faster than a real life time and use different lines because there is no danger factor, and you could push harder without having to worry about $$$ when you crash or $$$ for medical care ;D

not to mention you can practice whenever you like on a game rather than $$$ to practise in real life.

Rayyy
29-01-2009, 00:01

tbh if a world class racing driver, number 1 or whatever has a danger factor in a race big enough to make that much of a difference i dont think he should really be racing. Less things to worry about maybe but Pratice is probably the only reason you would be quicker.

i suppose a danger factor is there for a low class racer, but F1 or WTCC drivers shouldnt be driving if there scared too crash. Adrenaline rush anybody?

AZT_Mad_Monk
29-01-2009, 00:15
i don't mean 'scared' to crash, but when you are playing a game you don't care if you put it into the wall because you just press the reset button. In real life you can't push it that extra bit and see what happens because there is no reset button...

also when you are racing in real life there is no hot-lap mode... you won't find people doing hundreds of laps at full qualifying speed in real life either.

In a race, you dont think about if you crash here or there. if you have that metality, you will lose or crash.

AZT_Mad_Monk
30-01-2009, 20:34
well you probably won't crash ;D

I'm sure that if you're scared of crashing you'd never be very fast, you need to be able to concentrate on the car and nothing else and be able to push it to it's limits everywhere to be quick.

I'm also sure that if you had that mentality and then had a big wreck you would get the 'ricky bobby' effect ;D and it would take time to build up your confidence afterwards to get back up to top speed.

as the demo is expected on friday make sure you aren't too late to sign up to our forums!

also as there will only be about 2 weeks between the demo and the full game i don't think we'll be running an official Demo championship... but you will be welcome to sign up and create a few races on the demo in the 'custom races' thread on our forums.

Until then, see you on the track ;D

That sounds good, I hate the way we have been given very information about the settings you can use online etc etc

AZT_Mad_Monk
07-02-2009, 14:18
yeah well what can you do ;D we can only use the info we have been given and i'd rather we got a polished and finished game (or a demo ;D) than information about hot-seat mode ;D

That is one of the reasons for taking our time after the game is released, we'll be able to see what game options are available to us and be able to come up with the best format for the races and using the in-game options before the championship starts

AZT_Mad_Monk

We've decided that the RWS' first championship will be using the WTCC 07 cars for race pro, the first round of the championship will be on March the 8th 2009 assuming the full game doesn't get delayed any more so you will have at least 3 weeks from the game's release to the first race to get acquainted with the handling and game options of Race PRO.

here is the official Press release:

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll151/George_Simmons/RACE%20PRO/RaceCarMagazine.jpg
The Race World Series moderators announced today that the first season of the RWS will be run using the World Touring Car Championship vehicles, Dave Driveshaft takes us through the interview with the RWS Boss AZT Mad Monk.

Dave Driveshaft: So the first championship to be run by the RWS on Race PRO has been announced as the World Touring Car Championship, why did you decide to use these cars for the first season of Race-Shop World Series action?

AZT Mad Monk: Well we wanted to make sure the action is close and the racing is enjoyable, and needed to choose cars that won't be too hard to drive like Koenigseggs or F3000s. In the end we chose the WTCC cars because of their relatively low power and also the mix between front and rear wheel drive cars, which should mean that the competitors will be able to choose a car that suits their driving style, isn't too hard to drive so they can adjust to Race PRO's Lizard gaming engine. This should allow them to race closely and cleanly with each other, hopefully maximising the potential for fun and enjoyment, alongside making the learning curve moving from Forza or PGR to Race PRO easier to handle and hopefully continuing to develop each and every driver's personal simulation driving skills.

Dave: You also announced today that the WTCC series will be accompanied by the Mini Cooper Challenge side-series, why did you choose to run an extra championship alongside the Main RWS season?

Monk: As i said before we are trying to maximise the enjoyment that the competitors get from Race PRO, so we are trying to offer plenty of oppertunities for our members to race, so adding in a mid-week side series was a natural step for us. The Mini Cooper Challenge will run on the Wednesday before the Main season race at the same time of 20:00 UTC on the same track as the Main Championship, to hopefully get the competitors more used to racing cleanly and closely around the various tracks in the championship, and offering an extra bit of fun and some free practise at the same time. The Mini Cooper Challenge will also be an ongoing championship and the points standings should be very close as the low powered FWD cars should provide plenty of close racing and action for both competitors and spectators alike!

Dave: With Race PRO being so much more of a simulation than the likes of Forza Motorsport, Test Drive unlimited and the Project Gotham series, how do you think gamers will adapt to the hardcore simulation side of gaming from their 'arcade' style previously seen on the Xbox 360?

Monk: There is an extremely high level of gaming ability shown by all of our members here, and the fastest drivers are always the ones who can adapt to new tracks, conditions, cars and handling. Many of our members have very good track records in games like Forza and PGR, so they shouldn't really take more than a week to be setting top times in testing, the real difference will be how much the testing pace improves over the 3 weeks in between the game coming out and the first race, when we raced in the highly acclaimed ETCC Championship last year the times would fall by a second at most in between a periods of about 3-4 months between seasons, on Race PRO expect the fastest laps to drop by up to and over 2-3 seconds in a couple of weeks as the drivers get more and more used to the tracks and the cars. We are starting the championship off in reasonably easy to drive cars to try and help the less skilled drivers settle in to the new simulation gaming that Race PRO will bring along, and hopefully we will see big improvements in a few driver's positions as the season wears on, so the driver marketplace will be very interesting going into season 2, as previously unknown drivers make their mark in the independant teams and then becoming 'hot property' on the marketplace in the gap between championships.

Dave: We know that Race PRO features different weather conditions which will actually effect the handling of the cars much more than has been previously seen on the Xbox 360 console. Do you think this is a good thing? or will it make the races boring with the grids being spread out more?

Monk: When you watch an F1 race on the TV, 9 times out of 10 when it rains the races are fantastic, so why should it be any different on a game? As long as the drivers have done enough practise in the conditions and take even more care about braking early and staying out of trouble in the races there is potential for some incredible duels and fantastic racing. Having said that however adrenaline might get the better of some drivers and we could see plenty of incidents and lots of work for the stewards. But i'm sure the drivers will rise to the challenge of proper simulation gaming and we'll see some fantastic action rain or shine!

Dave: Thanks Monk, it's been a pleasure talking to you.

Monk: No problem Dave, now where's that demo!

Race PRO is currently set to be released on the 17th February for the USA and 20th February for the rest of the world. Anyone know a good way to pass time for a whole week? head over to the Renault Clio Cup section on our forums for our solution ;D

thanks for reading

yeah dave is doing good A3Jan ;D we kind of stole him when both Pred and Extreme signed up to the RWS, and he's joined by Eddie Exhaust, Steve Supercharger and Ronnie Rollcage in our news team ;D

It's good to see you again mate ;D are you still racing in the ETCC? i think it would be good if we could get some more members of the 'old' etcc so we could bring back some of the fantastic races from season 5-6-7 but without the attitude, hopefully race pro will allow us to pretty much start again with a clean slate ;D

Looks like the ETCC is still going strong, it's a shame it went the way it did but tempers were flaring and it's probably better now that there's more choice as to what people want to do :D

As the first round of the championship draws ever closer, Ronnie Rollcage takes us through the drivers, teams and his predictions for the first ever Race World Series.
We've been waiting for this moment ever since we were told the dim news that Race PRO would once again be delayed, but this time it was until 2009... prospects and hopes of a demo came and went with the marketplace being checked almost 24/7 for even the slightest hint of forthcoming news or information. But now, Race PRO is here, and boy are we going to have some fun!

Finally Race PRO has been released, and the RWS members have been practising flat-out to gain any little advantage they can over their competitors in the lead-up to the first race. Almost 3 weeks have passed since the fateful day when we could finally see for ourselves wether Race PRO was the way to go or one to throw. Season 1 of the Race World Series is starting this weekend (Sunday 8th March) and hopefully it's going to be a cracker! The Mods have already reported almost 100 members signing up to the forums, over 35,000 main page views and almost 2000 visitors to the site have given us a tremendous drivers list leading up to the first season. Testraces have gone well and all that remains is for the clock to stop ticking.

Looking at the Driver list there are some fantastic names signed up already, here's a run-down of the Teams and Drivers lists.

Series organisers UsR EXTR3ME, AZT Jammy and III PR3D III are also looking for the top steps of the podium with some simply incredible testing times so far, consistent results will be the key to the title for these guys in the all rounder SEAT Leon. AZT Jammy is one of the hot-favourites for the drivers championship at the moment, so expect to see the team revolving around him tuning and racing wise. Both the Drivers and Teams championship are a realistic bet for these three, and if they take the oppertunity by the neck, i'm sure they can achieve their goals.
Drivers: 5
Car: 5
Tuning: 5
Prediction: One of the top teams so far, Wins are likely and podiums more so.

Chevrolet Sport UK have had a tough time finding drivers for the championship, they've really been sailing rough waters so far but drivers AZT Mad Monk and VVV Haga have been setting some great times on the scoreboards so far, the third slot for their team is currently in discussion, and it could well be the third driver who makes or breaks this team, so we'll have to reserve our judgements until then. But at the moment they look strong for top 8's and possibly a couple of wins.
Drivers: 4
Car: 5
Tuning: 3
Prediction: Could see a few wins here and there, but steady top 8's are expected.

The Elite Racers are another strong favourite for both the Teams and Drivers championships, TER Raptor has shown fantastic pace both in the test races and on the scoreboards, he's fast off the line so he's always going to be near the front on the first lap, II ProdiJay X is the second driver of the team, he's well known throughout the FM2 scoreboards and is at the top many times already on the Race PRO ones, he could well be the joker in the pack, and the Alfa Romeo is also good all-rounder, so expect to see them at the front across the board. The only problem is that there is no back-up driver, if one of the two suffers mechanical problems or cannot make the race, we could well see their Team championship hopes crushed.
Drivers: 5
Car: 4
Tuning: 3
Prediction: Looking good for the Drivers championships with both drivers, but the Team championship may go out the window with problems from outside sources.

On to the independant drivers now, and don't think independant means slow, we could well see some of these guys battling against the factory drivers for the overall Drivers crown, not just each other for the independant trophy.

TKR Garlicbread is an incredibly fast driver in the Alfa Romeo, but reliability woes will put his whole championship at risk right from the start. If he can keep the phone off the hook then he'll be up at the front and could also be a serious challenger for outright podiums, but he hasn't got the tuning knowledge that Chevy may recieve, so being up at the front could be a struggle.
Driver: 4
Car: 4
Tuning: 3
Prediction: Could be up at the front, but reliability is a key issue.

VVV Busa is another key player from Veni Vidi Vici, but other key commitments like the IFCA could rule him out of the championship fight. If he can make the races he'll be one of the fastest in the SEAT Leon, but stress issues could also come into play, put this guy under pressure and he could *****.
Driver: 4
Car: 5
Tuning: 2
Prediction: He could be up the front, but you need to be in the race to stand a chance of winning it.

Ray J P 123 could well be the suprise package of the season in the SEAT Leon with some good results back in the ETCC days on FM2, he's a calm and fast racer who can be very consistent at times, unfortunately he's prone to mistakes and defeats can get him down. When he's happy and running well he can be the fastest thing on the track, but there's no point being the fastest thing between 2 crashes.
Driver: 4
Car: 5
Tuning: 3
Prediction: Could run well, but if it starts going wrong it could get worse throught the rest of the season.

RSR Competizione is one of 3 guys running the Peugeot 407, he could well be a suprise package because nobody really knows the potential of the Pug. He's fast and consistent and has already posted good results in the MINI Cooper Challenge yesterday, he'll be looking for podiums outright and the independants championship is a very realistic goal.
Driver: 5
Car: ???
Tuning: 4
Prediction: He'll be one of the fastest Independant drivers, expect to see him ruffling the feathers of the manufacturer teams without a doubt.

Tiddys2K was a strong showing in the MINI Cooper Challenge last night, so expect to see him translate his speed into the WTCC cars this season, but he's running the less favoured BMW, which is certainly a handful to say the least. If he can tame the beast then he'll be at the front, but unfortunately the calendar doesn't favour him with Brands, Anderstorp, Zandvoort, Oscersleben and Valencia being 5/6 of the tracks. He might be able to fight back in the last round though, but i dare say he will have lost too many points by then. I am open to being proven wrong though of course, so Tiddys feel free to suprise me!
Drivers: 4
Car: 3
Tuning: 3
Prediction: If he can tame the BeastMW then he will be at the front, but it's not as consistent as the other cars and he could easily drop down the field during the races.

There are many more guys who could still shake the boat around. Like ApX iSpy who could well be up the front if he can get the drive in the factory Chevrolet and also Webbers88 if he can keep the BeastMW on the road and consistent, there's alot of learning still to be done on Race PRO and we could well see people who are completely missed out here at the top, so watch this space guys, because this is racing, and anything could happen!

Thanks
Ronnie Rollcage

Mad Monk takes 2/3, as the RWS kicks off for the first time!
The Race World Series kicked off last night with plenty of thrills and spills, Steve Supercharger takes us through the results and all of the action from Brands Hatch.

Pre-Race:
There was plenty of controversy before the championship had even started, with top team AZT withdrawing all of it's drivers from the series with barely days to go until the start costing AZT ChevyRacing a shot at the title. But however, the withdrawal meant that the Honda Accords were available, and RSRCompetizione took notice and jumped straight in setting the fastest lap in testing of 1:32.558 with less than hours of experience in the car, second in the scoreboards was TER Raptor with a sub-1:33 and then AZT Mad Monk in 3rd with a 1:32.997. Further down the order III PR3D III was looking good in the SEAT with a suprising 7th overall and AZT Link was the last person to break into the 1:33's with a 1:33.936.

Qualifying:
Qualifying was to be much closer however, with the top 5 drivers all breaking into the 1:32's, III PR3D III set a cracking time of 1:32.526 and suprised many, temporarily taking the pole position slot until a late charge from II ProdiJay X secured him the pole with a fantastic 1:33.426. RSRCompetizione was again at the top end of the scores securing 3rd place in the A final with a very respectable 1:33.681, but none of the top guys were happy with their pace, and all knew that much was to change in the finals.

Narrowly missing out on the A final was AZT Link, a 1:34.283 was only 4 tenths off his personal best, but it just wasn't good enough to keep him in the top 8 as the qualifying session drew to a close. But everyone was suprised by how close the field was, only 1 second seperated the top 10 drivers, which was much closer than anticipated and the series organisers were particularly impressed.

Qualifying Results:
1: II ProdiJay X – 1:33.426
2: III PR3D III: 1.33.526
3: RSRCompetizione - 1:33.681
4: AZT Jammy - 1.33.746
5: TER Raptor – 1:33.760
6: o J2T o – 1:34.027
7: AZT Mad Monk - 1:34.032
8: TiddyS2K - 1.34.063
9: AZT Link - 1.34.283
10: VVV Haga - 1:34.466
11: UsR EXTR3ME – 1:34.627
12: Ray J P 123 – 1:34.794
13: InterAllsorts – 1:34.828
14: Duffers917K - 1:35.062
15: TKR Garlicbread - 1.35.105
16: JayBoyP - 1:35.150
17: ApX iSpy - 1:35.306
18: cobrettee - 1.35.528
19: X Calibur014 - 1:35.661
20: Webbers88 - 1:35.763
21: Def3nd - 1.35.829
22: oO GR3G Oo - 1.35.961
23: writester - 1:37.400
24: salvo2k9 - 1:40.208

Race 1:
The first race of the championship was possibly the best race i have seen in a long time, the top 6 drivers running absolutely nose to tail for 5 whole laps, II ProdiJay X made a decent start off the pole position, but it was III PR3D III who stole the show into the first corner from the inside, making full use of the SEAT's speed off the line and leading the race up to druids, AZT Mad Monk made a great start from 7th on the grid and was up to 5th by the first corner, and began his onslaught upon the leaders. TER Raptor and RSRCompetizione were running well, literally meters behind the leaders until Raptor suffered a puncture through 'dingle dell' and speared into the side of RSR, costing them both a shot at the race win. From there it was a four horse race, with III PR3D III leading, II ProdiJay X chasing him in second, AZT Mad Monk in a close third and AZT Jammy feeling the effect of worn tyres in 4th. AZT Mad Monk made it past II ProdiJay X and started to attack III PR3D III, but he couldn't get past and ProdiJay started to come back at them both. After continued pressure PR3D touched the grass and both ProdiJay and Monk were released, AZT Jammy managed to fight his way past PR3D too, but the SEAT's tendency to wear out it's tyres meant that he had no answer to the top two. AZT Mad Monk had his work cut out from then on, with ProdiJay touching his rear bumper most of the way around the track, but he managed to hold him off for the final 3 laps, taking the 1st Race World Series victory for Chevrolet Sport UK. Second was II ProdiJay X and AZT Jammy rounded out the top 3.

A sprited drive for Duffers917K in the B final earnt him the victory from 6th on the grid, with JayBoyP and Ray J P 123 having a close battle for second. AZT Link lost the chance of a good top 3 finish from contact with TKR Garlicbread but it was repairable for the second race, so all 8 cars were back out on the grid for race 2.

the C final was won by slow qualifier ApX iSpy, a bad qualification lost him the chance of a B final result, oO GR3G Oo put together a good run to finish second and cobrette rounded out the C final's top 3.

Race 2:
The second race of the night started under rolling start conditions, a little mix up on the line between o J2T o and II ProdiJay X cost them both a couple of positions, but it was really between first race battlers TER Raptor and RSRCompetizione for the win, Raptor taking the eventual victory by a couple of seconds from RSRCompetizione, the Fatsest lap of the weekend was recorded early on in the race by RSR, with a fantastic lap of 1:33.309, but he just couldn't match Raptor's speed in the final laps on worn tyres with Raptor taking the overall win. It was a good race for TiddyS2K who was able to capitalise on the reversed grid format to take 4th position, but he was helped by AZT Jammy getting caught up in an incident, putting him into the tyres and out of the race. AZT Mad Monk climbed from 8th to 4th, and II ProdiJay X came up the grid from 7th to 3rd completing the podium.

The B final certainly wasn't trouble free, with lots of problems for drivers pre-race, the series organisers have added a new rule, and just wanted to ask that everyone drives slowly and carefully around the warm-up lap, next race anyone who gets damage on the parade lap will be forced to start either with damage or from the pit-lane. So be careful next time boys!

In the end it was InterAllsorts who took the win, benefiting from his reversed grid start, TKR Garlicbread took second with a good drive to the front from the back of the pack, but he just couldn't match Inter's pace on a clear track from the start. Third was JayBoyP with a good drive from the middle of the pack, but unfortunately VVV Haga was having a terrible weekend, losing drive on the parade lap and being forced to retire from the last race aswell.

ApX iSpy took the C final honours again with another win from the back of the field, he battled through the whole pack and took a deserving win. oO GR3G Oo followed him through to second, and Webbers88 benefited from the reverse grid to get his place on the podium.

Race 3:
The Reverse grid benefitted AZT Mad Monk, who only had 4 cars to get past on his way to victory, but III PR3D III , RSRCompetizione andII ProdiJay X didn't make it easy for him, he eventually managed to get past and clear, leaving II ProdiJay X and RSRCompetizione to battel it out for second. Yet again III PR3D III made a mistake and it cost him 3 or 4 places, but it was AZT Jammy who lost out the most, making a mistake at dingle dell from the lead, throwing him out into the tyre wall and losing him any chance of a win, but he battled back to 4th place and scored some good points for the team. TiddyS2K took another good result with a 5th place, with TER Raptor not able to fight through the pack fast enough to get into the top 5. o J2T o made a mistake through hawthorne bend and wrote the car off, hopefully he'll be fixed and back on the grid again at Anderstorp next week.

The final B lobby race was won by JayBoyP, making it 3 podiums in 3 races, TKR Garlicbread and InterAllsorts made it a reversed podium of race 2, Duffers did well to stay up in 4th place and Ray J P 123, AZT link and UsR EXTR3ME will all be looking forward to Anderstorp, as they all dropped back throughout the race on a track that none of them really like.

The C lobby finished with a different ending than was expected with cobrette taking the suprise victory over Webbers88 and ApX iSpy, but unfortunately Salvo2K9, Def3nd and X Calibur014 had mechanical problems, so only 5 cars finished the race, but a well deserved victory to cobrette in the end.

So in the end there was some fantastic racing, lots of thrills and even more spills. The A final had some of the best racing i have seen in a long time and the reversed grid format seemed to work for all involved, hopefully i'll be able to watch the spectacle of all of you racing again at Anderstorp, so if you fancy another slice of the Race World Series pie, then i'll see you there!

How did they get messed up? Ive experienced a bug with the replays where, if you just turned on your game, you cant watch them unless you go to a track and do a lap or so.

Right, Monk, get him to start a race, then quit it.

What's happening is he's trying to view the replays as soon as he has turned RP on, and it doesn't work (I've had this problem myself) My solution was to get the game to load up a race first, then quit, and then view replay.

I assume when it freezes, the screen has just changed, the little loading box starts to slide in from the bottom, but the track map doesn't load. If this is the case, use the method I have just posted.

2/3 for the Elite Racers!
Round 2 of the Race World Series brought more success for Mad Monk, ProdiJay and Raptor, Steve Supercharger talks us through the action.

Pre-Race:
During the early practise sessions for the weekend it was TER Raptor of the Elite Racers who took the lead in the testing pace with a fantastic lap of 1:37.796, but just before the Qualifying session on Sunday team-mate II ProdiJay X topped the leaderboards with a stunning lap of 1:37.721, which meant the Elite Racers really looked on good form going into the Qualifying, and their testing pace didn't let them down. The times were overall close, and all of the drivers knew it was going to be tenths, if not hundreths that would seperate the finals.

Qualifying:
The pace was there in testing, and it stayed with the Elite Racers throughout qualifying, AZT Mad Monk took the initial lead with a reasonable time of 1:38.023, but on the final few seconds before the session ended, just like in testing II ProdiJay X absolutely smashed the lead with a 1:37.764. TER Raptor followed Monk up in 3rd with a 1:38.398. AZT Link did well to get up to 5th on the grid, after a dissapointing qualification at Brands left him 1st in the B final, and this time the 'lucky dog' was Kerry Katona who just took the 8th spot, scraping through into the A final. However this meant that JayBoyP was dropped down into the B final, but it was still a good score from him in, becoming the fastest BMW driver. However a bit of luck for him as VVV Busa's car failed to pass scrutineering after the qualifying session, retiring him from the event and allowing JayBoyP to move up into the A final.

Results - Qualification:
1: II ProdiJay X: 1:37.764
2: AZT Mad Monk: 1:38.023
3: TER Raptor: 1:38.398
4: AZT Jammy: 1.38.517
5: AZT Link: 1.38.536
6: RSRCompetizione: 1:38.546
7: VVV Busa: 1.38.699

Race 1:
The first race had AZT Mad Monk and II ProdiJay X fighting over the lead, but a mistake from ProdiJay cost him the chance of a win as he out-broke himself into the fast banked right hander and sailed over the crest into the gravel-trap, demoting him to 4th. RSRCompetizione drove well to fight through to 2nd overall, after a race-long battle with AZT Jammy, who got caught behind the widest car on the field, Kerry Katona during the opening laps.

The B final was won by Haggis07, who drove well from second on the grid to stay ahead of the chasing pack and Duffers917K had a fantastic race to drive from the back of the grid up to second. The B final needed their own Kerry Katona to stop him! 3rd place was VVV Haga who managed to score a good result without the technical problems he was plagued with at Brands. A boost pressure failure cost UsR EXTR3ME valuable time all of the way around the track, almost 5 seconds off the pace he crawled across the line in a valiant 16th overall.

The C final was won by TKR Garlicbread, after a dis-appointing qualifying performance, second was TiddyS2K, who just couldn't get used to the BMW fast enough after the new car arrived with literally days to go until Anderstorp testing began. 3rd was InterAllsorts who tired hard, but couldn't turn his front row grid slot into a win, the podium was still good enough to score him some valuable points.

Race 2:
The Second race of the night was much closer, with AZT Mad Monk, II ProdiJay X and TER Raptor all having a close fight for the win, Monk made way too many errors under braking and bent the back-side of ProdiJay's car into a much less aerodynamic shape, costing Jay a chance of beating his team-mate across the line, Raptor taking the eventual win, with ProdiJay taking second and Mad Monk taking a close third. AZT Jammy eventually made it past the 'rolling road-block' of Kerry Katona but it was too late to catch the leaders, RSRcompetizione followed him home in 5th.

gregtwo scored some more valuable points for Chevrolet Sport UK with 1st place in the B final, but his team-mate VVV Haga not faring so well down in 8th place with a puncture. Haggis07 fought all the way through from last place to secure second on the podium in race 2, setting fastest lap on the way through, and oO GR3G Oo made full use of the reverse-grid to finish 3rd.

The C final was dominated by InterAllsorts who came through from 6th on the grid to secure the win, 2nd was TiddyS2K from even closer to the back in 7th, and 3rd place was Brands Hatch A finalist o J2T o who suffered a puncture in qualifying, demoting him into the C final here in sweden.

Race 3:
AZT Jammy and II ProdiJay X battled hard for the win in race 3, AZT Jammy closing on the eventual winner until the final lap where he made the pass. Both cars locked their brakes into the first sweeping right-hander and they both sailed off into the tyre wall, unfortunately for Jammy it meant a spin and a massive time-loss, allowing II ProdiJay X to take the final race win. Further back the 'moving yellow flag' of Kerry Katona was holding literally everybody up in 3rd place, with AZT Mad Monk and TER Raptor 'chowing down' on Kerry's back bumper all of the way around, until finally Monk and Raptor were able to pass when the 'lunge of the century' went wrong and Kerry ran wide through the sweepers.

The B Final was dominated by the Chevrolet Sport UK guys, with gregtwo taking the win and VVV Haga coming home second. Haggis07 was on the podium again with another cracking drive up to 3rd. UsR EXTR3ME took 4th after finally shaking off his speight of mechanical problems, another unlucky weekend for him. InterAllsorts could do no better than his starting position this time, the reverse grid costing him another possible podium.

The final race of the day was the C final, which was absolutely dominated by InterAllsorts and TKR Garlicbread, AllSorts taking the eventual win, leaving TKR Garlicbread looking forward to Zandvoort, he will be trying to secure a A final qualification there. As his qualifying pace has been off target in both of the first 2 weekends so far. Third was the ever-popular Webbers88 who again unluckily scored his best result in the last race, mabye we should run 10 races at Zandvoort webbo? :D

Final Thoughts:
A brilliant weekend's racing with plenty more action and close racing which was great to watch! i can't wait for next week at Zandvoort, and i hope that i will see everyone else there too! AZT Mad Monk still leads the championship standings after both he and II ProdiJay X scored an equal amount of points this week. So expect the championship favourites to be close again next week!

sorry guys we haven't been able to produce a race-report this week due to the fact the news team managed to lose ALL of their coverage of the races from Zandvoort, when the season review comes out at the end of the year you will be able to find out what happened on Sunday night :(

until then the next race is this sunday at the challenging track of Oschersleben, we thought this one would be a doddle, but in testing we've been seeing lots of errors from the top guys and a couple of dark horses are expected to rise up this week! so keep your eyes on the forums!

until then, goodbye

II ProdiJay X Closes in on the title!

Rounds 10,11&12 of the Race-Shop World Series brought 2 new winners to the championship, with AZT Jammy taking the first race, and VVV Haga winning the second, close racing and some real door bashing were in store at Oschersleben, Ronnie Rollcage reports.

Qualifying:
Oschersleben is a challenging track. Full of late braking zones, sweeping corners and high kerbs, so many expected a very spread out qualifying session; however it wasn't to be on race day, AZT Mad Monk managed to secure pole early on in the session with a quality time of 1:35.055, and then gregtwo sprung the suprise of the session with a PB of 1:35.195. It looked like a Chevrolet Sport UK 1-2, but as the seconds ran out AZT Jammy took the fight back to the front and smashed home a 1:35.094, just hundreths of a second behind the pole lap of Mad Monk. Teams Championship leaders The Elite Racers drivers scored identical lap-times of 1:35.494, with II ProdiJay X taking the 4th position slot going on championship order. VVV Haga and InterAllsorts were seperated by a mere 1 thousandth of a second in 7th and 8th places, and the 'unlucky dog' this week was Kerry Katona, who just missed out on an A final slot and a guaranteed large points-haul for currently 2nd placed team Mush Mush Racing.

Qualification:
1: AZT Mad Monk: 1:35.055
2: AZT Jammy: 1.35.094
3: gregtwo: 1:35.195
4: TER Raptor: 1:35.494
5: II ProdiJay X: 1:35.494
6: VVV Busa, 1:35.861
7: VVV Haga: 1:35.895
8: InterAllsorts: 1.35.896
9: Kerry Katona: 1.36.063

18: Webbers88: 1:37.531
19: oO GR3G Oo, 1:37.596
20: writester, 1:38.197

Race 1:
AZT Mad Monk took the initial lead from pole in the first race, and it looked like he was going to be able to drive away from the rest of the field, but both AZT Jammy and II ProdiJay X knew they had to catch him and began posting some excellent lap-times to close the gap. Down into the first corner AZT Jammy made a move around the outside coming in, and took the inside line through the exit making it stick to take the lead, II ProdiJay X followed Jammy's line and held it, pushing Monk back down to third in one fell swoop. AZT Jammy took the momentum and held it throughout the rest of the race, he just had enough to keep ProdiJay behind by 4 tenths across the finishing line. Further back the rest of the field was all in one group together, with gregtwo, TER Raptor and VVV Busa fighting for the advantage. In the end greg made it around the final corner infront, with Raptor and Busa nibbling at his rear bumper in a drag-race to the line.

The B Final was dominated by BMW's, eventually won by RSRCompetizione who managed to convert his 5th place grid slot into a win with a good start in the RWD BMW E30, moving through the order just in time to take the checkered flag, JayBoyP was the second BMW finisher in the newer BMW 320si, taking second place and scoring some more good points for the BMW Team Norfolk squad. Kerry Katona must've left her chicken wings at home as she dropped back from 1st to third. But a podium slot was still good enough to put a great big burger sauce smothered smile on her face. The only retirement of the night was AZT Link, who unfortunately suffered a problem with 'the nut behind the wheel'.

The C Final was won by WWR Nath, who suffered from a breakdown and was forced to miss qualifying in his first race for the Wire 2 Wire Racing Team, a real shame as WWR Mansell also couldn't make it to Oschersleben, so a bad weekend for the WWR boys. Second in the C was the second BMW of Webbers88, who yet again scored a solid result for BMW Team Norfolk.

Race 2:
Although VVV Busa managed to hold up the A final considerably with some rather embarrasing antics on the parade lap, VVV Haga wasted no time in the race and took his maiden win in the championship. TER Raptor followed him home in second after managing to keep clear of the carnage from the rest of the pack, a fair bit of bumping and bashing ensued in the following pack and Duct tape sales reached an all time high between the 2nd and 3rd races. AZT Jammy squeezed out of the following pack in 3rd, with championship contenders AZT Mad Monk and II ProdiJay X in 4th and 5th respectively.

The B final was again won by RSRCompetizione who took another stunning victory from the back of the pack, just ahead of Kerry Katona who just hadn't eaten enough fish fingers to make her car wide enough to keep RSR behind. Following up in 3rd was UsR EXTR3ME taking his best result of the night after the reverse-grid. Further back JayBoyP couldn't repeat the result of race 1, the BeastMW wasn't fast enough to get through the pack in race 2, but also earning him the pole position for race 3.

WWR Nath again dominated the C final, coming from last to first for the second time. Duffers917K follwed him up in second, unfortunately missing out on a B final place with a lock-up on his quali lap losing him valuable time, and oO GR3G Oo took the final step on the podium with a 3rd place for Kitty Litter Racing.

Race 3:
II ProdiJay X made full use of a safety car in race 3, turning his 4th place grid position into the lead after the safety car, which was basically as good as a race win while his rivals, AZT Mad Monk and AZT Jammy were stuck in traffic in 4th and 6th positions. After the re-start Mad Monk managed to get up into 2nd place reasonably quickly, and he and ProdiJay set out chasing the 2 bonus points for the fastest lap of the weekend. ProdiJay beat Monk's qualifying lap of 1:35.055 with a 1:35.046, but Mad Monk replied and took the eventual fastest lap with a 1:35.020, gaining him the 2 bonus points which will prove vital in his title charge to catch back up with ProdiJay in the overall standings. VVV Haga had another strong race from the back of the grid to take 3rd place, and 3rd place in the championship AZT Jammy took the 4th place spot to round off his weekend, scoring just 1 point less than title leader ProdiJay.

JayBoyP finally managed to knock RSRCompetizione off the top spot of the B final podium after using the reverse-grid to his full advantage, this time RSR couldn't get through the field this time, and left Kerry Katona to take to the podium once again with another second place, and Haggis07 to score some more valuable points for Kitty Litter Racing

Both Duffers917K and o J2T o managed to displace WWR Nath from the top if the C final, with Duffers taking the eventual win away from J2T. WWR Nath managed to hold on to third, but proved just how hard it can be to fight through the pack, even in the bottom final your guaranteed to have a good race with the RWS!

Championship:
At the front of the Championship II ProdiJay X extends his lead out to 20 points from AZT Mad Monk. With only 6 races to go it's looking difficult for Monk. But it's still possible, and with the good results from VVV Haga and gregtwo in the last 3 races, he may well have 2 rear-gunners to help him through. TER Raptor will be called upon to try and keep Monk behind, so to win the championship strategy between team-mates could be just as important as the drivers own skill.

The Teams Championship is looking just as close! with The Elite Racers infront of Chevrolet Sport UK by just 42 points. Just like the drivers championship it's going to be a struggle for the underdogs but it's still do-able. The real fight is between Chevrolet Sport UK and Mush Mush Racing, with Chevrolet Sport overtaking Mush mush at Oschersleben. The gap between them is only 8 points. So it's too close to call at this stage. But Chevrolet Sport team boss AZT Mad Monk has assured me that they are not even thinking about the fight for second yet, their aim is the Teams Championship and nothing less.

In the Independants championship RSRCompetizione has a huge lead at the moment after leaving the JAS Motorsport squad. It looks like he's got the title sewn up so far.

Thanks guys! :D

yeah the Video footage from the 'ever reliable Pred' predictably didn't come :D but i thought i'd better do my best without pictures :D they seem to manage it in Autosport and real magazines! :)

so far we are incredibly pleased with both the standard of drivers and also the interest shown in the racing here, we've got around 20 drivers who turn up regularly, after 4 rounds we have still got 19 drivers who have scored results in at least 3 of the meetings! and we are also incredibly pleased with the up-take to the championship, with currently 14th in the world II ProdiJay X, 39th in the world TER Raptor, and many more top-500 drivers in the mix we are incredibly priveliged to have the amount of racers we do, with a total of 33 drivers having raced so far.

We were expecting the first race to be like the British GT's first round with less than 1 lobby worth of guys, but we were blessed with 3 full lobbies!

We still haven't got ETCC numbers, but we're working on it! ;D

Thanks guys! see you soon, mabye i'll pop back into the ETCC forums for a chat if i can :D

AZT Mad Monk starts a comeback

Rounds 13,14&15 of the Race World Series were staged at the penultimate meeting of the championship in Valencia. AZT Mad Monk took 2/3 wins, but a 4th place in the second race cost him the vital points he needs to try and pass II ProdiJay X in the title race. Eddie Exhaust reports.

Pre-Race:
AZT Mad Monk absolutely annihilated the competition in practise with an absolutely stunning lap of 1:42.430, his nearest competitor was RSRCompetizione who managed to pull off a very fast 1:42.968, but Mad Monk's main competitor II ProdiJay X hadn't submitted a time, so nobody knew how fast the championship leader was going to be until after qualifying.

Qualifying:
AZT Mad Monk continued his pace from the testing by taking pole with a 1:43.092, but II ProdiJay X was hot on his heels with a good 1:43.270 lining up beside him on the front row of the A final, The other Elite Racers driver SuperDan 18 was 3rd on the grid with a 1:43.587, and second placed in testing RSRCompetizione was 4th. All of the drivers were unhappy with their laps, and it proved just how much the pressure of the qualifying can slow you down, with nobody being able to post a 1:42 second lap. The 'Unlucky Dog' this week was AZT Link, who missed out on the A final slot by 0.032 of a second from the ever lagging Kerry Katona.

Qualifying:
1: AZT Mad Monk - 1:43.092
2: II ProdiJay X - 1:43.270
3: SuperDan 18 - 1:43.587
4: RSRCompetizione - 1:43.803
5: InterAllsorts - 1:43.971
6: gregtwo - 1:44.003
7: VVV Busa - 1:44.069
8: Kerry Katona - 1:44.070
9: AZT Link - 1:44.102
10: UsR EXTR3ME - 1:44.203
11: VVV Haga - 1:44.384
12: JayBoyP - 1:44.571

19: writester - 1:46.674
20: AZT Jammy: DNQ
21: WWR Mansell: DNQ

Race 1:
AZT Mad Monk took the early lead after a bad start from II ProdiJay X and managed to control the race from there, ProdiJay drove well and managed to fight back up to 2nd, minimising the points loss to Monk and also getting 1 place higher in the reverse-grid for race 2. The rest of the pack finished pretty much where they started, except for both gregtwo and VVV Busa being able to pass InterAllsorts after a gearbox problem meant he lost masses of time with a downshifting glitch.

The B final was won by Chevrolet Sport UK driver VVV Haga, who took advantage of his third-placed grid slot and turned it into a victory. UsR EXTR3ME followed him closely across the line, and AZT Link dropped back from the lead to finish third, just holding on to a podium after worn tyres lost him his initial pace and left him defenceless from the top two.

The C final was won by Webbers88 who converted his pole-position onto a win, Justinsane18 dropped back after a slow start from second on the grid, and this allowed [/b]o J2T o[/b] to move through into second place, and also allowed oO GR3G Oo through onto the final step of the podium.

Race 2:
II ProdiJay X showed us again why he's on the top of the championship leaderboard with an absolutely fantastic drive from the back row of the grid up to 1st, he scythed his way through like a knife through butter and won the race, managing to put 3 cars between him and his nearest rival AZT Mad Monk who suffered a technical glitch at the start of the race. The suspension fault cost him 5 seconds and prompted a massive comeback in the closing stages, eventually climbing back up to 4th after a friendly move from gregtwo let him past on the final drag-race to the line. VVV Busa managed to hold on to ProdiJay's tail and give him a good run for his money, but he just couldn't re-pass Jay so had to settle for second, and RSRCompetizione just held on to third place as the Chevrolet Sport guys swapped positions on the final straight.

VVV Haga took another win in the B final from the back of the grid, a fantastic result for him after a race-long battle with Haggis07. Who eventually couldn't hold on to the lead in the final stages. UsR EXTR3ME took another podium result in third, and AZT Link followed him home again in 4th.

The C final was won by Justinsane18 who made up for his bad result in race 1 with a win. Webbers88 hasn't had the best of seasons so far in the BMW, and just couldn't get past the guys infront from the reverse-grid, ending up 4th. writester must be kicking himself over his car-choice this season, again ending up at the back of the field, but he's stuck with it all season, and will be hoping for a B final result at Macau next week. oO GR3G Oo and o J2T o swapped places on the podium in race 2 and finished 2nd and 2rd respectively after another race-long battle.

Race 3:
SuperDan 18 took the initial lead of race 3 from pole, with InterAllsorts and AZT Mad Monk fighting hard for 2nd place, Monk knew that ProdiJay was held up in the middle of the pack, but could only get past InterAllsorts after about 4 laps, which was enough time for ProdiJay to fight through to 4th. Monk then set about catching up TER driver SuperDan 18 in the lead, and soon enough passed him when Dan made a mistake into turn 6. From there on Monk had the race win in he bag, and all eyes turned to championship leader II ProdiJay X to see what he could do to stop Monk closing the gap on points into the last round. So
Jay absolutely rose to the challenge, fending off both RSRCompetizione and InterAllsorts and then passing team-mate SuperDan 18 for second place through the last corner as he ran wide. InterAllsorts held on to his third place through the final laps from the hard-charging RSRCompetizione, and gregtwo lost momentum on the worn tyres to end up 6th, after a tight battle with VVV Busa throughout the race.

The B final honours went to VVV Haga who took another stunning victory from the back of the pack, he'll be kicking himself that he couldn't get into the A final this week, but on the challenging street circuit of Macau we could well see him up there next time out. Second best this time was UsR EXTR3ME who completed his podium 'clean sweep' and Duffers917K pulled one out of the bag to fight up to third place in the last race of the night after a dissapointing first 2 races for him. Although he was still pleased to be back in the B final after last week's C final qualification.

The C final could have been won by anyone this time out, but it was race 1 winner Webbers88 who eventually kept the lead across the line, followed closely by o J2T o who managed to fend off the hard charging Justinsane18 and oO GR3G Oo, after 7 laps of trading paint.

The Championship:
II ProdiJay X has a huge lead in the points standings coming into the final round at Macau. With closest competitor AZT Mad Monk left with a mountain to climb at Macau to have any chance of winning the title. Basically Monk needs to win all 3 races, and have Jay finishing third or worse in at least 1 of the races for the title to go in Monk's favour. Basically all Jay has to do is follow him around the track to take the title. So it's still possible, but II ProdiJay X has been the better driver so far in the championship, and is likely to pull it off in China.

The Elite Racers' Teams championship lead has been extended to a huge 62 points gap, which almost certainly ties up the championship for them, the only way Chevrolet Sport UK could win the title now is if they scored an average of 21 points more than TER in all 3 races at Macau, so if Chevrolet Sport UK finished 1st and 2nd in every race they could just snatch the championship, but all TER need to do is their usual points haul, and they will be almost guaranteed the title.

II ProdiJay X announced champion as Gregtwo and Duffers take wins
The Final 3 rounds of the Race World Series weren't even needed to decide the championship, both AZT Mad Monk and II ProdiJay X were unable to race after their parent companies having to pull out after 'credit crunch' problems. So Duffers917K and gregtwo rose to the challenge and fought it out over the rest of the championship positions. Steve Supercharger reports.

Qualifying:
Pole position went to gregtwo with a fantastic time of 2:34.153. Almost 1.2 seconds faster than second placed RSRCompetizione, who was desperately looking for points to make up for his dissapointing middle of the season, JayBoyP was a welcome addition to the A final this week, becoming the fastest BMW 320si, and scoring it's best qualifying result this season. The 'Unlucky Dog' was o J2T o this week who missed out on the final shrunken A lobby seat.

Qualifying
1. Gregtwo - 2.34.153
2. RSRCompetizione, 2:35.220
3. JayBoyP - 2.36.284
4. Duffers917K, 2:37.172
5. oO Greg Oo - 2.37.423
6. Haggis07, 2:37.724
7. O J2T O - 2.40.327
8. InterAllsorts, 2:43.463
9. UsR EXTR3ME, 2:44.030
10. SHD Ttam, 2:44.314
11. writester, 2:49.302

Race 1:
gregtwo took the lead from pole in race 1, with JayBoyP jumping up past RSRCompetizione in the fast-starting BMW, but soon enough into the first corner he moves to the inside and JayBoy is demoted back to third and right into the battle between Duffers917K and oO GR3G Oo, RSRCompetizione makes a mistake under braking down the hill and causes a small accident dealing considerable damage to himself, JayBoyP and oO GR3G Oo. Then at the fast right hander down the main straight RSRCompetizione makes a huge error when turning in and bounces off the inside wall, spinning out and rolling his car several times, putting himself out of the race.
By this time gregtwo has a massive lead, but he unsettles the car coming into the fast left hander on the back of the circuit and hits the inside wall, damaging his car to almost a write-off and prompting a massive comeback from Duffers917K. gregtwo loses about 4 seconds per lap to Duffers, but coming into the final straight he had just done enough to stay ahead, and gregtwo takes the first win at Macau by 0.106 seconds.

The B final was also full of plenty of incidents and crashes, but in the end it was InterAllsorts who managed to slide and skate in between the barriers to cross the line in first. UsR EXTR3ME took second on the podium after a dissapointing qualification, just ahead of o J2T o in third.

Race 1
1. Gregtwo (2.35.354)
2. Duffers917k
3. JayBoyP

7. InterAllsorts

Race 2:
From the rolling start from Race 2 it was oO GR3G Oo who took the advantage from RSRCompetizione after a huge slipstream all the way down the long straight, but at the end of it carnage prevailed. gregtwo mis-judged his braking and locked wheels, sending him onto a collision course with Haggis07 and resulting in terminal damage for the scot. Duffers917K managed to pick his way through the turmoil and popped out the other side in third. RSRCompetizione was fighting oO GR3G Oo hard for the lead, and a slight mis-judging into the tight hairpin resulted in contact for RSR, allowing Duffers917K and JayBoyP through into 2nd and 3rd. Duffers917K started an absolute flyer to catch the leader just like in Race 1, although this time he wasn't going to be beaten. He caught up with oO GR3G Oo on the last lap, and into the final turn pulled off a textbook manoeuvre to take the lead, winning the race by less than half of a second.

The B final was again won by InterAllsorts from the back of the grid, he faought his way up through the twists and turns of Macau whilst battling with UsR EXTR3ME all of the way. Eventually taking the win after a couple of scary moments with the walls. UsR EXTR3ME finished second again and third was o J2T o.

Race 2:
1. Duffers
2. oO Greg Oo
3. JayBoyP
4. Haggis07
5. Gregtwo
6. RSR Competitione
7. InterAllsorts
8. UsR EXTR3ME
9. o J2T o
10. writester

Race 3:
From the start gregtwo took the lead from pole again, JayBoyP makes a move on Haggis into the slow right hander but is denied. Unfortunetly Haggis07 runs wide and comes into contact with a wall demoting him to 5th, but that wasnt the end of the crash. JayBoyP taps the wall in sector two sending the car out of control, with oO GR3G Oo having nowhere to go he too hits the wall. This meant that the Safety car was deployed and the race was soon back underway again. Another mistake from JayBoyP cost him even more time as he too joins the list of cars to misjudge turn 2. Now it is Gregtwo, oO GR3G Oo, Duffers, Haggis and Jayboy. Despite Duffers obvious pace, oO GR3G Oo pushes on to make a significant gap back to 3rd place, allowing him to focus on 1st. gregtwo once again makes a small error and hits the inside wall. With gregtwo now nursing his broken Chevrolet home and the Pace of both oO GR3G Oo and Duffers it was anyones race. Just as it was looking like Gregtwo had a large enough lead he come in contact with the inside of T3 thus stalling his car. This meant the 3 cars where getting incredibly close as Duffers closes in on the final lap. But it wasn't enough, with gregtwo just getting 1st followed by Duffers who makes an identical move on oO GR3G Oo on the last corner of the last lap.

UsR EXTR3ME finally managed to dis-place InterAllsorts from the top step of the podium with a win in Race 3, Inter still did enough for second, and this time it was writester on third. Who took his first podium of the season in the last race of it!

Race 3:
1. Gregtwo
2. Duffers917k
3. oOGregOo
4. Haggis07
5. JayBoyP
6. RSRCompetitione
7. UsR EXTR3ME
8. InterAllsorts
9. writester
10. o J2T o

The Championship:
As the points are tallied up it reveals that II ProdiJay X is the first Race World Series main series Champion! beating AZT Mad Monk by 18 points to the title, unofficially at the moment gregtwo is third in the standings, and Chevrolet Sport UK are the Teams championship victors as TER lost out ADR in the final round.

Final Words:
I'd just like to say that from where i stand, having watched all of the races and had the RaceCar Magazine write about them all, it's been an absolutely fantastic championship! and i have really enjoyed watching, and helping this championship have a very successful first season, and i hope very much that this success will continue on into seasons 2,3,4 and beyond!

'Consistency is key' says Mad Monk

Season 2 is drawing ever closer, so RaceCar Magazine had a chat with Chevrolet Sport UK team boss Mad Monk to ask what he thinks about the action that is about to unfold.

Eddie Exhaust: So a successful first season for Chevrolet Sport UK in the WTCC class, do you think you can keep up the momentum in Season 2 and fight for the Constructors Championship once more?

Mad Monk: Well i don't see why not. We've got almost the same line-up this season, with the only change being new addition UsR EXTR3ME replacing VVV Haga, so we know that our drivers will be capable, it's just transmitting the driver speed into overall speed as the car is different in every way from a WTCC Chevrolet. It's much harder to race for a long distance without making a mistake, so it will be a real challenge of consistency and concentration throughout the championship. But i am confident my guys can pull it off, hopefully this season we can make a better start than last time, it was a steep hill to climb last season so we're hoping not to repeat the performance.

EE: With much more difficult cars to drive and much longer racing, which will include pit-stops, what do you think is more important? raw speed or good strategy?

MM: I don't know yet ;D, I think if you have a fast enough driver you can make any strategy work, but a slower driver on the right strategy can always throw a joker into the pack... I don't know really, i hope we have both :D

EE: If you could name anyone who you think will suprise the pack this season who would it be?

MM: I think it may have been a mistake to let VVV Haga go, he's been blisteringly fast through the testing sessions so far so i'm starting to regret losing him, Kerry Katona has shown some fantastic pace in the Saleen S7. But it's early days yet, we'll see... oh and also watch out for Webbers88, he was held up by the BMW last season so i reckon he'll spring up into the A finals now he's in some better machinery.

EE: Where do you think your cars will be strongest this season?

MM: Well on strategy we should be ok, so tracks like Pau/Porto, Road America and Brno i think we'll be fast, because cars without fuel meters on the dashboard will suffer, and we might also be fast on the speed tracks as our cars lack downforce for tracks like Laguna Seca.

EE: What kind of results do you think you will be challenging for?

MM: It's difficult to say at the moment, obviously we were quick last season so we expect to be in the A finals at least, there's alot of competition this time out though so who's to say, but obviously we would like to be challenging for wins from the off.

EE: What do you think will be the key to the championship.

MM: Consistency will be the deciding factor in the championship, there's no point being the fastest thing between two crashes, you've got to keep the car moving fast and keep it on the road at all times. Mistakes will cost you much more time then they would have in the WTCC cars, so make too many and you are going to lose points, races and championships.

Stunning 1-2 for Team Slow Gerbils

Season 2 of the Race World Series started with a bang this week in California at Laguna Seca. With a fantastic 1-2 finish AZT ROSSO and III McLaren III wasted no time in marking their names as favourites right from the word go. Steve Supercharger takes us through the weekend's action.

Pre-Race:
The Pre-Race leaderboards were dominated by SuperDan 18 and RSRCompetizione, each taking the lead, with the other then jumping back up into 1st. The two Team Slow Gerbils boys kept their heads down during practise preferring long-runs rather than fast lap sessions, meaning they were the underdogs coming into the qualifying session. SuperDan 18 kept the lead at the end of the official practise, with a fantastic time of 1:21.248.

Qualifying:
Team Slow Gerbils silenced, and then ground the faces of their critics into the dirt in the qualifying, taking 1st and 2nd on the grid by about 2 tenths back to RSRCompetizione in third. III McLaren III was extremely happy to take the pole from team-mate AZT ROSSO. McLaren with an astonishing time of 1:21.364, which became the fastest lap of the meeting. Earning him 2 bonus points for both himself and the team. Further back the grid first time RWS Driver VVV HaulingAsh managed to just scrape through into the A final, guaranteeing a good points haul for his team Crash or Byrne Racing with a reasonable lap of 1:22.548, just beating o J2T o by 0.052 of a second to squeeze through.

Qualification Results:
1: III McLaren III - 1:21.364

The Race:
III McLaren III and AZT ROSSO fought a titanic battle for the race win, the two team-mates squabled for all 35 laps in an epic fight for the lead, you could hardly tell which driver was ahead throughout the race, as the lead of the race swapped back and forth between the two lap after lap. RSRCompetizione suffered a gearbox failure on the rolling lap, costing him valuable time, and prompting the team's decision to retire from the race. This meant VVV Haga and AZT Mad Monk moved up into 3rd and 4th positions through the first corner, and they too squabbled for position during the first 10 laps of racing, with V12 Zeragon, iiINFECTiiOIN and VVV HaulingAsh following closely behind waiting in the wings for a mistake from any of the top 4 drivers.

The pit-stops started around lap 12 with VVV Haga pitting early after a meeting with the wall under the dunlop bridge, a lengthy stop for repairs, fuel and tyres started off a miserable race for the Koenigsegg driver, losing more valuable time with another brush with the tyres later on in the race through the corkscrew. AZT ROSSO pitted on lap 16, allowing III McLaren III to do an astonishing 1:21.4 second lap on low fuel, when he pitted on the next lap it was enough to make the jump in the pits and take the lead of the race. Everybody elected to use the 1 stop strategy here at Laguna, so we couldn't see any gambles for tyre strategies here, V12 Zeragon managed to stay out a lap longer than iiINFECTiiOIN and also put in a good lap to leapfrog the Lister Storm driver, promoting Zeragon up to 4th place, and allowing him to push forward to attack AZT Mad Monk's lead of 8 seconds over him.

Towards the end of the race the two Team Slow Gerbils drivers were seperated by no more than a second, AZT ROSSO had a close call with the back corner of McLaren's Chevrolet coming down into Turn 1, nearly ending the race for both drivers. But some skillful avoiding action allowed both drivers to keep going, and battle together to the flag. In the end III McLaren III managed to keep ahead of Rosso to the flag, meaning Team Slow Gerbils became the first team to get a 1-2 finish since The Elite Racers at Anderstorp in Season 1. AZT Mad Monk managed to hold off debut driver V12 Zeragon's. Finishing almost exactly 8 seconds behind the top 2 and 8 seconds ahead of 3rd. Another Debut driver was iiINFECTiiOIN, who scored a great result for Webbers88's team Full Tilt Racing on his first outing. The Lister Storm driver managed to keep his nose clean and picked up an excellent points haul. I have a feeling both him and V12 Zeragon may be hot property on the driver marketplace next season after rounding off the top 5 here on their debuts.

The B final was won by a fair margin by o J2T o. He controlled the race from the start and kept a good cushion of about 10 seconds back to the hard-charging V12 IMBUE, Webbers88 recovered from a technical fault in qualification to score a podium, after a good battle with Imbue, DelDoubletop and mmm MORNY mmm. The top 4 seperated by less than 20 seconds at the finish, resulting with many happy faces and plenty of good battles throughout the order.

gregtwo and Salvo2K9 had a terrible race! both getting DQ'd after less than half distance, gregtwo span in the put-lane and Salvo recieved too many corner cutting penalties after excursions on old tyres left his car almost un-controllable. A big shame for them. Especially gregtwo, who finished 3rd in the Drivers and won the Teams Championship last season. He'll be hoping for better results next week i'm sure.

Final Thoughts:
In my view although the race was delayed due to technical issues with the lighting system, the race was well worth waiting for, only 1 Mechanical problem before the racing marred the event, but almost everyone was able to race, and hopefully enjoy themselves as much as i did. Team Slow Gerbils are almost 37 points ahead of their nearest rivals in the Teams Championship after the hotlap and a 1-2 finish here at Laguna, so let's hope we get something other than a Chevrolet in the top 5 next week at Monza ;D

Thanks guys, i hope to see you next week in Italy!

AZT Mad Monk seals victory in anybody's race

Monza was the second round of the Race World Series, and it was by far the best and most eventful race in RWS history. Eddie Exhaust takes us through the weekend.

Pre-Race:
III McLaren III took the testing lead in the Chevrolet Corvette C6R with an impressive time of 1:44.161, just 2 tenths ahead of nearest challenger AZT Mad Monk on a 1:44.327, next up was oO GR3G Oo who wrestled the Aston Martin DBR9 around in an excellent time of 1:44.570, rounding off the top 3. III McLaren III's time was good enough for 6th fastest lap ever recorded for a GT PRO car, so he was understandably pleased.

Qualification:
Team Slow Gerbils couldn't keep up the dominating pace that we saw at Laguna Seca, with III McLaren III missing out on the pole by 7 tenths of a second after an incredible lap of 1:44.026 from AZT Mad Monk. 3rd in the qualification was the first Koenigsegg CCGT of VVV Haga, who set an awesome qualification lap, and just missed out on a front row grid slot by 2 tenths of a second, but a qualifying PB for him all the same.

The 'unlucky dog' this week was SuperDan 18, who missed out on the 9th place in the A final by 2.3 tenths of a second... but arguably the most unlucky racer was VVV Haga, he was unable to make the race after failing scrutineering for a fault with his roll-cage. Meaning his fantastic qualification went to waste and quite understandably, he was gutted.

Qualification:
1: AZT Mad Monk - 1:44.026
2: III McLaren III - 1:44.707
3: VVV Haga - 1.44.871
4: v12 Zeragon - 1:44.969
5: AZT ROSSO - 1:45.072

The Race:
After a slightly delayed start to recover the Radical SR4's who had literally littered the track with borken down cars and pieces, AZT Mad Monk took full advantage of the rolling-start and took the initial lead from III McLaren III and AZT ROSSO. Incredibly all of the cars made it through the first corner without a problem, which is a testament to the high-standards of driving ability from the racers. On lap 5 the action really began. AZT Mad Monk took a spin going into the second chicane (della roggia), and handed the lead over to III McLaren III. Eventually dropping Monk back down to 4th place by the time he reached the Lesmos. But then III McLaren III made an error and spun at Ascari, allowing team-mate AZT ROSSO up into the lead of the race. V12 Zeragon made a mistake coming out of Ascari and clipped the inside wall, damaging his car and forcing him to pit for tyres, fuel and repairs. A 1 stop strategy was all he could try from now and with nothing left to lose he began to reel in the 25 seconds he needed to catch mmm MORNY mmm.

No place for team-orders up at the front. As III McLaren III started to attack ROSSO straight away. The pair were meters apart just like in race 1 for lap after lap, but this time something had to give... On lap 8 III McLaren III locked the inside wheel coming into the Rettifilo and slid down the inside of AZT ROSSO. The pair touched and McLaren span and took damage. He pitted but the mechanics weren't ready, and his race was effectively over, pitting again on the next lap and losing over 1 second per lap to the top 3 he knew his only hope now was to keep going to the end of the race and go for the bonus points of the outright fastest lap.

The Lead was with AZT ROSSO and iTrevorMcDonald up at the front, with AZT Mad Monk eager to make up for his mistake on lap 5, he caught up with the top 2 and ran for 2-3 laps right on iTrevorMcDonald's bumper, but eventually he got into the slingshot on the straight and took the advantage into the Rettifilo. But then just as he started to hack into ROSSO's lead the back tyres skipped away under braking into the rettifilo on the next lap, spinning him around for the third time and losing the place to Trevor again.

AZT ROSSO had built an impressive lead by now, and V12 Zeragon was the fastest car on the track, although now only 15 seconds behind MORNY's Saleen S7R. The pit-stops were getting close now, and it was race leader AZT ROSSO who pitted 1st. he made the obvious strategy choice and took on tyres and fuel in the stop. AZT Mad Monk and iTrevorMcDonald went 1 lap longer in an attempt to close the gap to ROSSO in the stops. When they re-joined the track AZT Mad Monk made a shorter stop and lead Trevor out of the pit-lane, but AZT ROSSO came flying down the straight and overtook them both on the run down to the Rettifilo, albeit with a slightly smaller gap.

AZT ROSSO's gap to Monk was closing lap by lap, and eventually through the Parabolica ROSSO oversteered off onto the inside, and Mad Monk passed him, and now ROSSO had to worry about V12 Zeragon. Who had managed to jump up to 5th place during the stops, just behind team-mate V12 Imbue. Zeragon tucked into the slip-stream and made the move into the Rettifilo, but it almost ended both driver's races as iTrevorMcDonald lost drive and ground to a sudden halt on the inside of the chicane, luckily marshals were able to move the car after a short while, so nobody else got a nasty suprise under braking. Zeragon had managed to pull off the early 1 stop strategy so far, and was now in a podium position. Even more of a suprise was his pace, he was actually catching AZT ROSSO at an alarming rate, while ROSSO was on a heavier fuel load. It looked like Zeragon might even be in with a shout of a victory here.

But just as the race was looking sweet for the Crash or Byrne drivers. V12 Zeragon locked the brakes into Ascari, and slid wide onto the infield. This earnt him a drive-through penalty which set him back 20 seconds at least. But if that wasn't enough punishment he was disqualified for speeding in the pit-lane afterwards. Costing him a chance of a podium finish at worst. But all was not lost for the Crash or Byrne guys. VVV HaulingAsh had raced steadily and consistently through the field without making any mistakes and had elevated himself up to 4th position. He was a fair way off Imbue but a good points haul for CoB looked a very likely result.

Now the race was on between AZT ROSSO and V12 Imbue. ROSSO's brakes were on their last legs, and he was losing around 0.5 - 1 second per lap to Imbue, he contemplated taking another pit-stop for tyres, but he decided to drive for the points, he managed to nurse the car home in 3rd position. Which was good enough for a strong 92 points for Team Slow Gerbils.

A comfortable cushion of 10 seconds seperated race leader AZT Mad Monk and now second placed V12 Imbue. But the tyres were wearing thin now, and Monk span coming through the Ascari chicanes. This halved his lead and Imbue was then able to really apply the pressure onto Monk, who span again at the Rettifilo with 3 laps to go! Imbue was now leading the race and Monk had 3 seconds to catch in 3 laps. So he got his head down into the draft and caught up 1.5 seconds in the next 2 laps. Coming through the Parabolica on the penultimate lap there was less than a tenth seperating the 2 cars, and Imbue took the defensive line. But he broke too late and slid wide. Monk pushed his nose up the inside and it was going to be a drag-race down to the Rettifilo for the last time. But Imbue applied the gas too hard and slid even wider and off into the gravel trap. Leaving AZT Mad Monk to nurse the car around the final lap and take the victory. V12 Imbue came home 2nd, and AZT ROSSO nursed the car home to take the final podium slot.

The Championships:
This win will move AZT Mad Monk up into the lead of the championship by 2 points, with AZT ROSSO closely behind in 2nd. III McLaren III will be holding on in 3rd after a dissapointing result here at Monza.

The Teams Championship will still be led by Team Slow Gerbils. But an impressive result from the Crash or Byrne Racing team will bump them closer to the #1 spot. I for one think this could well be a fantastic and closely run thing!

Final Thoughts:
Next week the GT PRO Championship heads to Porto... This will be the only street track on the calendar, and i think we can almost guarantee carnage! If you thought the race at Monza was anybody's, then you haven't seen anything yet!

See you there!

Format:
Qualification: 15 minutes.
Race 1: Qualification grid order, Rolling Start.
Race 2: Reverse Finishing order, Standing Start.

The most noteable change is the addition of weather conditions. Next season the Weather will be decided before the race takes place, meaning we do actually get some wet-weather racing in.

Also the calendar is much longer this season, The 11 weekend formation will take us from the start of June right the way up to September, and as the calendar goes right through the summer holidays, there will be 6 dropped scores allowed. Meaning you will be able to miss 3 weekends and still have a reasonable go at the title.

Qualifying has been extended from the last WTCC season to 15 minutes, allowing people to score times more equal to their ability.

The Rolling and Standing starts have now swapped races, meaning the Rolling start will begin the first race, with a Standing starting the second race.

Both races will be slightly longer than the Races in Season 1, this is because the third race has been dropped, allowing more time for longer races in race 1&2, as a side effect this should also reduce bumping and lead to cleaner racing.

Almost everything else is the same. The Sign-up will open to Season 3 on Wednesday 14th June. Which is 3 days after the last round of Season 2.

Also remember guys although S2 is well underway, you can still sign-up and compete! the next race is on Sunday in the GT PRO class at Brno.

Team Slow Gerbils dominate with a 1,2,3 at Brno
Brno in the Czech Republic was the third race of the season, and Team Slow Gerbils pulled off an absolutely perfect weekend. Report by Eddie Exhaust.

Practise:
Team Slow Gerbils domination began in the practise sessions on Friday and Saturday. With TER LiveNkickin taking the fastest lap and #1 on the scoreboards in sweet style on his series debut with a 1:53.780. Second in the RWS, and also managing to climb to #3 in the world was III McLaren III on a 1:54.577, and rounding out the top 3 was AZT ROSSO with a time good enough for 4th in the world of 1:54.681. V12 Zeragon was the next best thing to a 'Slow Gerbils assault', he set a time of 1:54.802 in the testing, putting him 6th in the world overall, and this is a testament to the top level of racers we have here in the RWS, in actual fact 5 out of the top 8 drivers in the world are currently Racing in the RWS which truly makes this one of the best championships out there. The practise scoreboards were absolutely dominated by Chevrolets, with the next best car being iTrevorMcDonald driving the Aston Martin DBR9, all the way back in 7th place!

Qualifying:
TER LiveNkickin was riding shotgun for Team Slow Gerbils again in the qualification standings, he was the only driver to break into the 1:54's with a 1:54.947. III McLaren III took second place with an excellent 1:55.510 and AZT ROSSO rounded off the top 3 again with a 1:55.815.

The next 8 cars made this one of the closest qualification sessions we have ever seen. iTrevorMcDonald lead the field through in 4th with a good time of 1:56.550, and to give you an idea of how close this was, AZT Mad Monk qualified 11th overall with an unsatisfactory time of 1:57.000, from positions 4 to 11 the gap was less than half a second!

There were big shake-ups in the session in terms of championship contenders here too. Most noteably championship leader AZT Mad Monk missed out on an A final slot and could only manage 11th place. Also Crash or Byrne drivers V12 Zeragon and VVV HaulingAsh missed the cut in one of the tightest lobby splits we've seen, Zeragon missing out on the last A final slot by 0.095 of a second behind team-mate V12 Imbue. Who bizarrely equalled X Calibur014's time!

Qualification:
TER LiveNKickin - 1:54.947
III McLaren III - 1:55.510
AZT ROSSO - 1:55.815
iTrevorMcDonald - 1:56.550
VVV Haga - 1:56.682
TER Toxiic - 1:56.782
X calibur014 - 1:56.882
V12 Imbue - 1:56.882
V12 Zeragon - 1:56.937
VVV HaulingAsh - 1:56.984
AZT Mad Monk - 1:57.000
F4H Red Pod - 1:58.834
Webbers88 - 1:59.253
TKR Garlicbread - 1:59.352
x SnazzySalvo x - 2:01.033

The Race:
As TER LiveNkickin put the hammer down exiting the last corner of the pace-lap, the competitors and spectators alike knew who was going to take this race win. Live made a good start and pulled a slight gap on team-mates III McLaren III and AZT ROSSO, the rest of the grid got away well too, and thankfully there were no problems in the first corner, allowing the race to get underway without a hitch.

As the drivers began to settle down into their rhythms it was iTrevorMcDonald leading a battle of 5 cars, with VVV Haga, TER Toxiic, V12 Imbue and X Calibur014 following closely behind lap after lap, all of the drivers were looking for a place to pass, but at the same time defending from behind, iTrevorMcDonald lost a few places going wide and began to fight back through the pack. With all 5 of the drivers running so close together eventually something had to give, and on lap 5 it did.

Coming into the second corner of the complex TER Toxiic made a move and passed VVV Haga. But on the next turn a counter-attack followed giving him the place back, Toxic was forced wide into the next corner and iTrevorMcDonald who was eagerly looking to re-gain his 4th place tried to pass on the inside too. But his Aston Martin was just too wide and he touched the rear corner of Haga's Koenigsegg, this sent both cars wide and they collected Toxic on the way through. Resulting in an expensive sounding thud and 3 unhappy drivers sitting in the wall making friends and sand-castles.

The safety car was deployed and after repairs had been made and apologies accepted the race resumed. Yet again TER LiveNkickin took advantage at the re-start and zoomed back off into the lead, Rosso and McLaren sped off into second and third and the real fight was again with Trevor, Toxic and co. right up until the pit-stops.

Live, Rosso and McLaren pitted, and then resumed in the positions they were in, McLaren slightly closing the gap to his team-mate but still not quite close enough to make a move. Further back in the field V12 Imbue entered the pits first from 4th place, he opted for Tyres and Fuel, which was a strategy adopted by everyone else in the field, except for 5th placed X Calibur014 who opted (wether accidentally or not) to only take on fuel. He made the jump on Imbue and moved up to 4th place as he resumed from the pits on the next lap, but soon enough his tyres started to really expire, and after his lead was closed down like butter melting in the oven he was forced to pit before he lost all touch with the race, and the race-track.

TER Toxiic, iTrevorMcDonald and VVV Haga were tied up together in a real dog-fight before the stops, and it was VVV Haga who peeled away into the pits 1 lap before Toxic and Trevor. This allowed the Aston Martin Racing boys to really put the hammer down, and as they resumed from their stops 1 lap later, they had not only jumped up past the Koenigsegg of Haga, but had also leap-frogged Imbue while on their light-fuel loads.

By this time LiveNkickin had been set about extending his lead, and the other two 'slow gerbils' had been scrapping over the last two podium slots. With AZT Mad Monk out of the equation the two drivers were both fighting to capitalise on a prime oppertunity to make up some points on the championship leader. AZT ROSSO had the lead after the stops, and was slowly increasing the gap back to III McLaren III in third.

Distaster for iTrevorMcDonald a drive-through penalty was awarded for not pitting while driving with a dangerously damaged car. This was enough to put him out of the race theoretically, and then a couple of laps later he decided his time would be better spent on the BBC News at 10 than trailing the pack with damage out on the race-track.

After the stops the pack slowly diffused into their own parts of the track, with TER LiveNkickin taking an absolutely dominant win by over 30 seconds from his team-mates AZT ROSSO and III McLaren III rounding out a perfect weekend for Team Slow Gerbils, 1,2,3 in practise, 1,2,3 in Qualification, 1,2,3 in the race and also the fastest lap of the weekend.

The real fight for the finish was between TER Toxiic and VVV Haga, but slowly after the stops the Aston's balance on a heavy fuel-load gave Toxic the advantage and he managed to pull away to take 4th position. VVV Haga crossing the line in 5th place and V12 Imbue taking another solid result for Crash Or Byrne Racing in 6th position. A result that would bump him up ahead of his team-mate V12 Zeragon in the Drivers Standings. X Calibur014 never really recovered from his strategy error in the stops, but 7th place was good enough to pt a smile on his face in his debut event in the GT PRO class.

yeah no problem, we're always looking for fast guys to join in on the fun :D

Also to add we're putting in the addition of a 'SuperPole' qualifying session next season, so the Standing Start race's grid will be decided on a single lap basis, sorting the men from the boys in a single run, and also making sure there is no advantage gained off the line from foul play. Wether accidental or not.

Road America was the 5th round of the Race World Series, and it became the first ever main-season race to be held in the wet. But the rain didn't deter TER LiveNkickin, who took the race win by a country mile again. Report by Eddie Exhaust.

Practise:
The early leader in practise was III McLaren III, he put in a stunning time in the dry of 2:01.018, which is the fastest time running no-assists recorded, TER LiveNkickin missed the saturday practise session due to problems with the gearbox, which left AZT Mad Monk to make a welcome return to the top 3, second place in the times, 0.5 seconds behind McLaren. AZT ROSSO recorded another consistent result, taking yet another top 3
place in the practise, 0.2 behind Mad Monk.

III McLaren III was looking like he was ready for a strong result here at Road America, but a big off on the last few laps of practise saw him running wide and into the wall through the kink, the red flags came out and left his chassis bent. Although his mechanics worked through the night unfortunately they couldn't get the car fixed for the race. Losing his the chance of a win.

Qualification:
As the quali got underway it was clear that even though the conditions were looking treacherous. TER LiveNkickin was the leader of the pack. He was over 0.8 seconds faster than team-mate AZT ROSSO in the quali, setting the Team Slow Gerbils drivers up for a good result from the front of the pack. AZT ROSSO was 0.7 seconds clear of 3rd placed Koenigsegg CCGT driver SuperDan 18. Then it was V12 Zeragon, V12 Imbue, TER Toxiic and AZT Mad Monk seperated by just 0.5 seconds behind him.

Kerry Katona just scraped into the A final by less than 0.1 of a second from Webbers88, but unfortunately she was too poor to pay the entry fee, and she was dropped into the B final.

Qualification:
1: TER LiveNkickin - 2:01.587
2: AZT ROSSO - 2:02.388
3: SuperDan 18 - 2:03.056
4: V12 Zeragon - 2:03.205
5: V12 Imbue - 2:03.457
6: TER Toxiic - 2:03.489
7: AZT Mad Monk - 2:03.538
8: Kerry Katona - 2:04.425
9: Webbers88 - 2:04.523
10: TKR Garlicbread - 2:05.229
11: TER Link - 2:05.469
12: o ALPHA MALE o - 2:06.093
13: F4H Red Pod - 2:06.860
14: gregtwo - 2:06.893
15: Kassiai Seven - 2.11.665

The Race:
As the race kicked off as expected TER LiveNkickin and AZT ROSSO lead the pack off into the first corner, as they came down into the long braking zone it was all clear as every car made it though relatively unscathed, and as they raced off down towards the infield of the track all of the cars had already started to settle down into their places. AZT Mad Monk began to attack from the back of the grid. Moving up into 6th position past V12 Imbue on the first lap, and began to chase down TER Toxiic and V12 Zeragon. At the end of the lap SuperDan 18 took a gamble and pitted straight away, he filled up with petrol and left the pits almost 35 seconds behind the leader. A pit-stop takes around 45 seconds for fuel and tyres, so Dan had a 10 seconds advantage to try and keep for the next 12 laps until the other drivers pitted.

AZT Mad Monk had caught the battle of V12 Zeragon and TER Toxiic by the 3rd lap, and as Zeragon ran wide on the exit of the final turn Monk held his speed down the straight and slipped past easily on the long run down to turn 1. TER Toxiic managed to pull a couple of seconds gap to Monk and Zeragon while they were battling, and it allowed him to get some breathing space and relax for the first time in the race.

Coming up to the pit-stops Mad Monk had eaten into Toxiic's lead. But on lap 11 Toxiic decided not to take the risk and pitted. Zeragon followed him and closed right up to him with some great work by his pit-crew. At this point everyone was wondering where SuperDan 18 would come into the equation. He zoomed past the pit-lane exit... 3 seconds behind Toxiic and Zeragon, and he knew that after about 3 laps he would have to pit for new tyres. It was safe to say the strategy hadn't worked.

on the next lap race leaders TER LiveNkickin and AZT ROSSO dived into the pit-lane, no misfortunes in the stops for them and all eyes turned to AZT Mad Monk, who gambled on an extra lap with only 4 litres of fuel left in the tank. Monk had the temporary lead and a clear track on low fuel, he was up in the first 2 sectors, but coming arou nd the last corner the engine started to slow. With 0.25 litres left in the tank he was literally running on fumes when he pulled into his pit, the guys swapped the tyres like lightning and more fuel went in. LiveNkickin passed and took the lead, then AZT ROSSO passed just as Monk left the pit-exit. This left Monk to re-join in 3rd place, gaining an advantage of 5 seconds over the other drivers by taking a very risky gamble.

TER Toxiic and V12 Zeragon swapped places for the rest of the race, with Toxiic making a mistake and letting Zeragon through, only for the opposite to happen on the next lap. Both guys were looking for any chance to pass and score another top result as they were seperated by just 8 points in the championship standings. This was one of the best battles i have ever witnessed, as the differences between Toxiic's Aston Martin DBR9 and Zeragon's Chevrolet Corvette C6R made for excellent blocking and passing techniques for all to see. Both drivers giving it their all on old tyres and heavy fuel right on the edge of their car's grip boundaries.

AZT ROSSO was keeping a steady distance ahead of AZT Mad Monk, with Monk just closing on him towards the last 3 laps of the race, but then suddenly a plume of smoke was seen ahead up at turn 1 and AZT ROSSO locked a wheel into turn 1 and slid wide, this allowed AZT Mad Monk through, and ROSSO's damaged car was costing him 3-4 seconds per lap. He could see the battle between TER Toxiic and V12 Zeragon behind and on the final lap came down the straight to finish just 0.89 seconds ahead in 3rd place.

TER LiveNkickin was once again the star of the show. Although he saw a few dodgy moments while aquaplaning on the wet track, he still kept a huge lead of over 18 seconds back to Mad Monk. He once again showed what a tuning and racing talent he is, and i'm sure next season he'll be a key player once again.

AZT Mad Monk brought the car home 2nd from a dissapointing qualification once again. He started from the back of the grid and managed to keep out of trouble and score another consistent result. But the man of the moment is AZT ROSSO, he scored yet another 3rd place continuing his run of podiums, although he is 7 points back from Mad Monk in the title standings all could change as he's currently dropping a 3rd place score. Whereas AZT Mad Monk has dropped a 76 point drive last week at Brno. So 1 mistake from Monk could see his title hopes going up in smoke.

TER Toxiic was the best of the rest today, he brought the Aston Martin DBR9 home in 4th place, and although there still hasn't been anything but Chevrolet drivers on the podium so far this season, he could well be the person to upset Chevrolet's party next time out.

V12 Zeragon followed him home in 5th place, scoring yet another good result for Crash or Byrne Racing. Him and V12 Imbue made another good impression on the championship this week, and they are looking very good for another good couple of finishes in the last 2 rounds at Curitiba and Brands Hatch.

SuperDan 18's strategy didn't work this week. He lost the chance of a potential podium result here and won't be happy, but he's had the speed all season, so i think he could well be another challenger for podiums in the last 2 races of the championship. The Koenigsegg is the favoured car for the last round at Brands Hatch, so if he can keep his momentum up through curitiba then i think we could well see some suprises on his home track in Kent, England for the last race.

Race Results:
1: TER LiveNkickin - 2:01.354
2: AZT Mad Monk
3: AZT ROSSO
4: TER Toxiic
5: V12 Zeragon
6: SuperDan 18
7: V12 Imbue
8: Kerry Katona
9: Webbers88
10: o ALPHA MALE o
11: TKR Garlicbread
12: F4H Red Pod
13: writester
14: Kassiai Seven
15: TER Link DNS
16: gregtwo DNS

The Championship:
AZT Mad Monk still leads by 7 points away from 'Mr Consistent' AZT ROSSO, but ROSSO has a 3rd place result in the bag already, so if he can score another good result at Curitiba he just needs to make sure that Monk doesn't score too well at Brands Hatch to take the championship victory. However if Monk can keep the car on the track and score 2 more consistent results, he still has a cushion of 6 points to lose to ROSSO, so i can assure you it's going to be close.

Team Slow Gerbils continued their domination of the teams standings, they took yet another win and podium combination at Road America, and have a huge points lead over Crash or Byrne Racing in second place. The real fight is between Aston Martin Racing and Mush Mush Racing who are battling closely for 3rd place in the standings.

Thanks for reading, see you in Brazil for the next round!

V12 Zeragon takes control while championship rivals clash!
What a race! In by far the closest and most challenging races of the season pole-man V12 Zeragon came through in the final throws to take the win, AZT ROSSO and a Moronic Monk clashed at the top and left a 4 point gap to fight for in the final round. Eddie Exhaust reports.

Practise:
As expected it was III McLaren III who took the testing lead, becoming the only person to break into the 1:10's, unfortunately however his car still wasn't right after the re-build from his Road America accident, and the Roll Cage failed scrutineering. This dropped him out of the running, and cost him a chance at the Championship. Second was a Moronic Monk, who set a very reasonable time of 1:11.274, with AZT ROSSO following closely behind. From the practise everyone knew the qualifying was going to be tight, and that if the laps didn't come together in quali, everybody was under the pressure of being dropped down into the B Lobby.

Qualification:
The early pace was set by a Moronic Monk, who stuck in a time of 1:11.578 on his very first hot-lap, he controlled the session from there on watching over the scoreboards and going out for the odd run to try and improve his time. With 1.5 minutes to go he was still on the pole, the checkered flag came out and everyone was pushing the all out of their car on their final chance. AZT ROSSO flew down the straight and pipped Monk's time by 0.008! taking the provisional pole, he thought he'd done enough until V12 Zeragon came around the final turn 0.083 up on his best lap. He crossed the line in a time of 1:11.539. Taking the pole position in the last lap of qualifying. The top 3 title contenders seperated by just less than 4 hundreths of a second.

Looking further down the order a good result for the Aston Martin Racing boys left them 4th and 5th on the grid. With iJammyy taking the grid advantage, and also Kerry Katona and VVV Haga were tied in 7th and 8th positions on the grid with the same time of 1:12.072. In fact the whole grid was incredibly close, with the top 12 drivers from V12 Zeragon back to TER Link seperated by just under 3/4's of a second.

Qualification:
1: V12 Zeragon - 1:11.539
2: AZT ROSSO - 1:11.570
3: a Moronic Monk - 1:11.578
4: iTrevorMcDonald - 1.11.671
5: iJammyy - 1.11.804
6: VVV HaulingAsh - 1:11.902
7: Kerry Katona - 1:12.072
8: VVV Haga - 1.12.072
9: V12 Imbue - 1:12.171
10: Morne Supremacy - 1.12.205
11: Sub TheRPDC - 1:12.257
12: TER Link - 1.12.302
13: TKR Garlicbread - 1.12.664
14: Stretch TheRPDC - 1:12.839
15: F4H Red Pod - 1.13.005
16: iiINIFIECTiiOIN - 1:13.274
17: Webbers88 - 1:13.340
18: UsR EXTR3ME - 1:13.807
19: JonnyMatthews - 1:15.041

The Race:
As V12 Zeragon brought the drivers round for the start blood pressures and tyre pressure were rising alike, only 2 rounds left to go the championship could still go any of the top 3's way, and a clean race here would help Zeragon's title bid immensely. He dropped the gas and the race began. a Moronic Monk drew up along-side AZT ROSSO, but he decided to keep cool and dropped back into single-file under braking, it's a long race and you can't win on the first corner. But you can sure as hell lose.

All cars rounded the first corner safely, V12 Zeragon led AZT ROSSO, a Moronic Monk, iJammyy, iTrevorMcDonald, VVV Haga and VVV HaulingAsh away down the long straight towards the infield. VVV Haga and iTrevorMcDonald were looking for a way past iJammyy, and this allowed the 3 leaders some space to get away from the pack and start a race-long battle of their own.
Braking into turn 2 VVV Haga drew up along-side iTrevorMcDonald, it was a test of the late-brakers, but Trevor held the inside line and although a little slide on the power cost him a few feet, he retained his position for the next few laps.

The leaders were escaping away at the front and making a little gap back to the 4th, 5th and 6th placed battle. V12 Zeragon was coming under immense pressure from AZT ROSSO, and on the 7th lap he cracked. Coming through the last corner AZT ROSSO got his nose infront of Zeragon's back wheel and 'got stuck in' on the inside-line. V12 Zeragon gave him too much room and ran wide on the exit onto the grass. ROSSO took his good exit speed and made the move stick under braking into turn 1. a Moronic Monk thought about making a move too, but wasn't quite so moronic as the name suggests and hung back.

iTrevorMcDonald and iJammyy were having an 'inter-team' battle for 4th position, until iJammyy decided Trevor was the faster driver and let him go. This left VVV Haga and iJammyy to begin their now familiar battle for the remainder of the race.

A few laps later V12 Zeragon let the car slide wide again into the final corner, Monk wasn't holding back now as AZT ROSSO had built up a small lead or around 4 seconds and was still pulling away. Monk held the inside and pulled right up on the inside into turn 1. Under braking however Zeragon was superior and took the place back. But it was only temporary as Monk caught some good traction out of turn1 and got a good run in the draft into turn 2. Zeragon had no answer into turn 3 and Monk set about catching ROSSO.

Into the pit-stops ROSSO still led. iTrevorMcDonald had been running some great laps after being released by iJammyy and pitted first on lap 10. Then iJammyy and VVV Haga pitted together on lap 11 with VVV HaulingAsh coming in a few seconds later. Leaving the top 3 to pit on lap 12.

Everybody left the pits in the same place, except for the top 4. iTrevorMcDonald came steaming down the pit-straight to pass a Moronic Monk and close right up on the back of V12 Zeragon. a Moronic Monk was jumped by V12 Zeragon in the stops, and Zeragon closed right back up on ROSSO's lead.

After 3 laps a Moronic Monk had closed on iTrevorMcDonald and coming into turn 2 Monk dived up the inside. Trevor ran wide and couldn't find the traction off-line, Monk got the power down smoothly and managed to keep the position. Up ahead V12 Zeragon was dropping back off ROSSO and soon enough he was within touching distance of a Moronic Monk. Zeragon ran wide into the final corner and Monk saw the gap on the inside. He held his car in tight on the inside and on the long run down to turn 1 made the pass.

The fight was now on between a Moronic Monk and AZT ROSSO. The gap wasn't too big and with 7 laps to go the two championship rivals were running bumper to bumper. The brake-markers had been knocked down coming through the last turn so ROSSO was slow through the last sector. This allowed Monk to pull along-side coming into the first corner, ROSSO was later on the brakes and held the position, but on the exit of the corner Monk got better traction and got back up on the inside, ROSSO felt the pressure and span the back wheels, sending his car into a slide and pitching him towards Monk. The two touched and slid off onto the infield together. allowing V12 Zeragon to pass them both and take the lead of the race. As they came through the last few laps the top 3 closed up more and more. But eventually the laps ran out, and V12 Zeragon held it together to take his maiden Race-Shop World Series Victory!

AZT ROSSO brought the car home for another podium spot, he was itching to get a win here, and was yet again denied. a Moronic Monk took the final spot on the podium to round off another Chevrolet 1,2,3. But in 4th and 5th position were the two Aston Martin Racing drivers, iTrevorMcDonald finishing 3 seconds behind the winner in the closest race this season and iJammyy bringing the car home in 5th, just ahead of VVV Haga's Koenigsegg CCGT and VVV HaulingAsh finished off the A final 1 minute behind.

The Race:
1: V12 Zeragon - 1:11.770 =50:51.199
2: AZT ROSSO - 1:12.038 +1.176
3: a Moronic Monk - 1:11.638 +1.946
4: iTrevorMcDonald - 1:11.672 +3.230
5: iJammyy - 1:12.205 +20.696
6: VVV Haga - 1:11.938 +22.375
7: VVV HaulingAsh - 1:12.605 +1:04.006
8: Kerry Katona - DNF
9: V12 Imbue - 1.11.771
10: Morne Supremecy - 1.12.207
11: Stretch TheRPDC - 1.12.640
12: TKR Garlicbread - 1.12.730
13: Sub TheRPDC - 1.13.664
14: TER Link - 1.12.968
15: Webbers88 - 1:12.840
16: F4H Red Pod - 1:13.673
17: JonnyMatthews - 1:14.841
18: iiINIFIECTiiOIN - 1:13.3xx
19: UsR EXTR3ME - 1:13.507

The Championship:
With 1 round to go a Moronic Monk leads the championship by 4 points from AZT ROSSO. V12 Zeragon is pretty much certain to finish 3rd. So all eyes will be on the 2 championship contenders coming into the last round.

In the teams standings it looks good for Team Slow Gerbils, but there is also the chance of a comeback in the last round from Crash or Byrne Racing, so it's going to be well worth being there!

Thanks for reading ;D

Fantastic FiVe O takes the championship in both hands!
a 4 point gap seperated RpM FiVe O and a Moronic Monk in the fight for the title, but it was the underdog who made the most of Monk's errors and took the title. Eddie Exhaust reports.

Practise:
Practise was always going to set the scales of the championship battle, and it was RpM FiVe O who leant them over in his direction (with his pace not his weight :D) ahead of a Moronic Monk. But they were both absolutely destroyed by TER LiveNkickin, who was yet again at the top of his game on the top of the leaderboard.

Qualification:
Setting the scoreboards alight again was TER LiveNkickin, he absolutely out-classed the rest of the field with a time of 1:22.481, which was 0.8 seconds faster than second placed RpM FiVe O. a Moronic Monk managed to secure the 3rd position, it was looking like a real battle for the title was about to commence!

Unfortunately V12 Zeragon missed the A final cut by just over half of a tenth. The guarantee of both Slow Gerbils drivers in the A final but only 1 Crash or Byrne driver cost him and the Crash Or Byrne Racing team a shot at the title.

Qualification:
1: TER LiveNKickin - 1:22.481
2: RpM FiVe O - 1:23.250
3: a Moronic Monk - 1:23.781
4: VVV HaulingAsh - 1:23.817
5: Kerry Katona - 1:24.450
6: Sub TheRPDC - 1:24.500
7: VVV Haga - 1:24.718
8: V12 Zeragon - 1:24.770
9: UsR EXTR3ME - 1:24.917
10: F4H Red Pod - 1:25.318
11: iiINIFIECTiiOIN - 1:25.852
12: Morne Supremacy - 1:26.085

The Race:
As the final race of the season kicked off it was all eyes to the tricky first corner at Paddock Hill bend. RpM FiVe O got away well and managed to just about keep ahead of a Moronic Monk, who had crept up onto the inside after getting away well from the rolling-start. Kerry Katona fell back into the pack as TER LiveNkickin dropped the gas, this left him fighting with VVV Haga and Sub TheRPDC for the duration of the first few laps. Live got off to a good start and made himself a reasonable gap through the first lap, he soon enough settled into his own pace and extended his lead further and further throughout the opening stages of the race.

Back with the chasing pack RpM FiVe O and a Moronic Monk were having a close battle for second position coming through druids when VVV HaulingAsh scraped the decals off Monk's rear bumper, luckily Kerry Katona was making her car as wide as possible back in 5th position so Ash was able to keep his position, despite taking a short trip through the gravel-trap.

Disaster strikes for Monk on lap 6, he locks up his brakes coming into Druids and it sees him slide off into the gravel on the outside, this allows VVV HaulingAsh to catch him, he then runs wide through Graham Hill, and then again off at Surtees. This drops him right back to 5th position. Right in-between VVV Haga and Kerry Katona. On the next lap Kerry Katona lets Monk through on the straight. A snap-shot of her team radio tells us she was advised to let him through to save her from damaging the car keeping a faster driver behind, she was fully engrossed in a fight with VVV Haga at the time, and tyres were just starting to become a concern.

Then on lap 8 VVV HaulingAsh slid off onto the grass under-braking for Paddock Hill Bend. He just managed to keep it out of the wall and only lost the place back to Monk.

Then HaulingAsh span off again through Dingle Dell. This time he lost two places behind VVV Haga and Kerry Katona, he had the initial pace on new tyres, but you could see that he was losing mechanical grip fast, and his set-up had very low aero-dynamical downforce, resulting in a very slippery car!

From there on until the stops the order stayed the same. RpM FiVe O had a huge lead on Monk, but it was slowly being reeled in as FiVe O kept his tyres intact.

First to stop was Sub TheRPDC, he was already in 7th place and looking to climb up the order with nothing to lose. Unfortunately the gamble of stopping early didn't pay off as much as he'd have liked. Kerry Katona re-joined the circuit only a few metres closer.

Next in was championship leader a Moronic Monk, with VVV Haga and VVV
HaulingAsh coming in on the same lap. RpM FiVe O had been driving very economically, and he managed to squeeze out an extra 2 laps on Monk. As Haga left the pits he was just ahead of Kerry Katona, and Sub had managed to jump past VVV Haulingash too.

2 laps later when the top 2 finally decided they were getting bored they pitted. LiveNkickin still had a sizeable lead over FiVe O, who had about an 8 second advantage over Monk before his stop. As FiVe O re-joined he had the whole length of the brabham straight between him and Monk.

'Yellow Flag in Sector 1' rang out amongst the team radios as Sub TheRPDC lost it coming out of Graham Hill bend taking the front off his car in a 90mph collision with the barriers. The race was up for him, all gears but 6th were lost and he pulled into the pits to retire later on in the lap.

a Moronic Monk was closing on FiVe O, he'd managed to bring the gap down from 14 seconds after the stops to about 5 seconds with about 10 laps to go. There was a chance that Monk might be able to catch up and still win the title. But catchng up with someone and passing them is a different kettle of fish!

VVV Haga and Kerry Katona were pushing each other hard. Their battle had been raging on since lap 1 and neither of the two could get away. On lap 36 Kerry Katona took turn 1's name literally and hit the inside wall, sending her careering off towards the outside and into the tyre barriers. Her front left wheel went faster towards the spectators than the whole car had gone all day, and eventually after crawling around for a whole lap, the car gave up the ghost in the pit-lane garage. This moved VVV HaulingAsh up to 5th position, one of his best results for the whole season.

Back up at the front TER LiveNkickin had the race totally in his command, through the last lap Monk was fighting hard to catch FiVe O, but it didn't look good. Coming through the last turn Live backed off and FiVe O took the lead, he crossed the line in 1st to take the win and the championship victory, with a Moronic Monk finishing 3rd just 3.5 seconds behind.

VVV Haga brought the Koenigsegg CCGT home in 4th position, bumping him up to 4th in the championship, becoming the first non-chevrolet driver.

Race Results:
1: RpM FiVe O 59:19.258
2: TER LiveNkickin - 1:22.648 +00.608
3: a Moronic Monk +03.455

The Championship:
Well it's all over for Season 2. RpM FiVe O takes the championship in style after finishing on the podium in EVERY race!, Monk comes home second AGAIN! with V12 Zeragon 3rd overall. It'll be a fantastic team next season with FiVe O and Monk teaming up in the SEAT. We could well see those 2 back at the top next time around!

Thanks very much for coming along and racing throughout the season guys. It's been a pleasure going racing with you guys, and i cannot wait to see you all again next season!

Season 2 Awards Winners!
Season 2 has come to a close, and the RWS staff have decided to give out special awards to the drivers who have impressed, or mabye not so much impressed them during the season. The awards winners and their reasons are as follows. Report by George Simmons

The Driver of the year: (given to the driver who impressed the organisers the most during the season)

Awarded to: TER LiveNkickin - He raced in 3 events and if it wasn't for his kindness to let RpM FiVe O past on the final lap in the season finale would have scored the maximum amount of points possible. He really was a cut above the rest this season and if only he'd made all of the races he would have easily stormed to the championship victory.

'Move over you big American Bus' Award: (given to the best placed driver who wasn't driving a Chevrolet Corvette C6R)

Awarded to: VVV Haga - He was right up there fighting it out with the top boys time and again, with a best result of 3rd (Qualification at Monza but unfortunately couldn't race) and a final championship position of 4th place overall (in the basically independant Koenigsegg *see below) he was truly 'the best of the rest' :D

The Independants Champion: (given to the higest placed driver who was racing alone)

Awarded to: F4H Red Pod - After starting on the back foot by missing round 1 Red Pod put his pedal to the metal and didn't ever stop, Red Pod took a string of reasonable and consistent B final results in the next 5 races to just sneak himself up into joint 8th position overall. Well done Red Pod, i don't know wether you'll stick around for next season, but all of the team-bosses know you're a consistent driver with a brilliant attitude and personality that you can rely on as a 3rd driver in your team. I truly hope you will stick around for S3 :)

The Nelson Piquet Award: (given to the driver who unexpectedly throws his car off the track at any point during the race)

Awarded to: Kerry Katona - Lots of people crashed or ran wide during the season, but Kerry Katona's attempt in the last round really stood out. While attempting to catch VVV Haga ahead of him on heavy fuel and old tyres he was lapping over 1 second off the pace. He finally gave up the charge, but as soon as he backed off on the next corner he span off straight into the tyre wall. With 3 wheels on his wagon he crawled back into the pits to retire, his season over.

The Crash of the year: (awarded to the biggest crash of the season)

Awarded to: RpM LaCeTTi, VVV Haga and iTrevorMcDonald together. - Brno is a difficult track, but when these three all tried to pass and re-pass each other on the same corner hilarity was bound to ensue. The only safety car of the year was brought out and these three sat red-faced in the barriers.

'My best team-mate' Award: (given to the team-members who let you down the most)

Awarded to: VVV Busa and SuperDan 18 - Red Devil Racing looked like a strong side on paper. But as the old saying goes 'you've got to be in it to win it' they suffered alot during the season. VVV Haga was left fending for himself after VVV Busa and SuperDan scored only 3 results collectively.

'Thanks very much, Mate' Trophy: (awarded to the team-'mates' who didn't exactly make it easy for each-other)

Awarded to: iTrevorMcDonald - These two are usually good friends, but when iTrevorMcDonald made a lunge from a little too far back on RpM LaCeTTi at Brno, which put them both in the tyres, LaCeTTi was understandably a little annoyed. 'Thanks very much Trev' :D

'Unlucky Chuckie' Award: (given to the unluckiest driver in the field)

Awarded to: Kerry Katona - The drive of his life came out at Porto, a fantastic pole position, a sizeable gap seperating him from second and his maiden win! too bad the round was later cancelled and labelled NON-CHAMP after the pit-glitch robbed half of the field. Unlucky mate.

Well done to the championship winners, but most of all well done to everyone who raced with us throughout the season. We had a ball, the driving was excellent and we've had no problems with stewards enquiries or jumped starts. You've all been great sports and i've had a great time running this championship with the rest of the Staff for you. Thank you very much guys, and i'll see you next season!

thank you all!

Season 3 is on the way! (www.race-shopworldseries.org)
Season 2 has come to a close, and the RWS is now looking ahead to Season 3! AZT Mad Monk has the lowdown.

For Season 3 of the RWS we will be making a return to the WTCC Class, but this time it's serious. We're going to be running a 22 round championship across 11 different circuits across the globe. This will truly be a World Touring car championship as we'll be travelling to 11 different corners of the virtual world, and have drivers from many different countries competing. We can also boast prizes for the top 3 drivers, the winning team and the Official Side-Series winners!

The championship will be only using NON-DLC tracks to allow everyone to have a fair shot at the title. HOWEVER if you really do have the urge to drive on Imola or the KW400's feel free to enter the official side-series which runs through the first half of the Main season, or the NON-CHAMP WTCC round at Imola before or in the middle of the championship to enjoy some more relaxed and less-serious racing.

This series has an excellent reputation for having some of the best drivers in the world. We race in Professional mode only! and you can see many of our drivers times at the top of the leaderboards in both TimeAttack and Overall TrueSkill. If you decide to join us you'll be jostling for position with some of the best drivers in the Race PRO world. Names like:

TER LiveNkickin - One of the best PGR players ever. Countless #1's on the TimeAttack scoreboards, including every single #1 time at Pau. Many more on circuit tracks in almost every major class like GT PRO, WTCC EXTREME, FBMW, GT Sport... Some say he is Race PRO's #1 Driver.

III McLaren III - One of the only drivers to challenge Live in Season 2 of the RWS. Many think he is the master of GT Sport, having risen to the challenge of Ultima EVO X's times and smashing them within a few laps. McLaren set countless fastest laps in S2 of the RWS and some of them are still #1 times now, check the GT PRO Scoreboards for confirmation.

RpM FiVe O - The reigning champion certainly didn't get to where he is now without blood, sweat and tears. He literally gave the Chevrolet Corvette C6R 120% last season, and came back from second to beat a Moronic Monk by just 4 points in the last round! The two of them have teamed up next season along with VVV MotoGP Team Captain VVV Haga. Those 3 should be a very formiddable trio next season, and could well be favourites for the title! can you stop them?

a Moronic Monk - Currently #11 in the TrueSkill scoreboards, Monk has finished 2nd in both S1 and S2 of the RWS, and is hungry for the title next season. He ran #1 in the TrueSkill leaderboards for a few days before he gave up using Ranked Rooms. He decided that playing for over 10 hours straight for a place on a leaderboard was no where near as much fun as actually racing! He's a top racer and holds many top 5's, including the Radical SR4 #1 at Porto by over 3 seconds without wall-bashing!

iTrevorMcDonald - Competed with Monk for the TrueSkill rank #1 and held it for almost a week until he too decided enough was enough. Trevor is at the top of his game at the moment and managed to claw the Aston Martin DBR9 to it's best result of 4th last season at Curitiba, it sounds easy, but having to fight off 6 Corvettes isn't an easy task by any stretch of the imagination!

GSR Watson/II ProdiJay X - Watson was one of the very best on Forza Motorsport 2, he may well be making a return to the RWS after skipping the GT PRO season due to time constraints. He is the reigning WTCC Champion after seeing off AZT Mad Monk in season 1 of the RWS, if he comes back for Season 3 don't expect to see him finishing outside of the top 5!

VVV Haga - He's the Modern day John Surtees. Captain of the Veni Vidi Vici MotoGP team, his speed certainly isn't lost when transmitted into 4 wheel driving. He finished 4th in the 'Wide-Boy' Koenigsegg CCGT and qualified in 3rd place at Monza in it, an incredible lap from a pretty dis-advantaged car!

So that's the lowdown of Season 3. If you think you can bring the fight to some of the top drivers in the world of Race PRO then step right up! We're up for relaxed and serious racing, some put in hours and some put in minutes, there's big grids and a huge range of skill, so you're always guaranteed a good race, be it for 1st in the A final or 7th in the C final!

Thank you all for reading! I hope i have kick-started your appetite for speed and competetive racing. I hope to see you on the forums (www.race-shopworldseries.org) soon!

Cheers guys
