Am I the only one who cares about this? Surely you all agree we need some solid proof there is a decent cockpit view in the game.?

No, we ALL would like to see some first person shots, but the devs have been pretty stingy when it comes to screens of the games.

Have you seen IL2 Sturmovik's: Birds of Prey four different views? If you go to youtube.com and type in IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey - GC2008-2 at 5:15 minutes in you can see this guy playing the hud view like ACE Combat 6, but in World War II. From what I saw on a few vidoes on youtube, Birds of Prey will have four different views: 3rd person, cockpit, zoomed in cockpit, and hud.

Yeah, Heroes over Europe needs to show a lot more, since it's coming out in March! Because Birds of Prey is already starting to look like the much better game out of the two. But that will not stop me from buying Heroes over Europe the day it's released! The more WWII aerial combat games, the BETTER! :guns:

I think they are going to end up as 2 different beasts; il-2 does not have a true story mode campaign, and is also shooting for more realism than heroes. The appeal of the original heroes was the balanced blend of arcade/sim, and with any luck they'll hit it again.

as for the graphics, i'm a little confused on that as well because the original preview that I saw looked Il-2 quality. The previews on their site are jagged, but GI article on the game said that the preview they saw was not in HD. Let's hope this the explanation for the jaggies.

Yeah, the same was said by ign below about the graphics, but he never says anything about what views he used, just that he used a "super-zoomed in view" with the pipper. Okaaaaaay? was this in cockpit or 3rd person?

Come on Heroes! Even BATTLESTATIONS: PACIFIC has been showing off all their new cockpit views!

If you go to the main site, and click the "Heroes" tab, they have an overview card that you can flip over; it mentions the meticulously detailed cockpits.

Thats a Battlestations Pacific Trailer not Heros Over Europe, but yeah i do hope theres a cockpit view for HOF because how can you be in a cockpit of a plane without a cockpit view weirdblue

That game is for BIG BOYS who can make multiple crucial decisions at once for a whole fleet, during the same time you fight from unit to unit. tonguegre

Currently awaiting Simbin/Atari's RacePro (will arrive next week, cheapo asia copy;))

We've indeed BS:P in the pipeline, with IL2:BoP coming too ... not forgetting big gun OFP2 by CM and of course hopefully HoE will see the day.

All above titles are interesting and deserve (some) attention in the midst of the really big guns like CoD:MW2, ME2, Bioshock2 and you name it.

Anyway, above was a bit off-topic, but still, trying to keep the board and HoE alive:)

yes we do need some cockpit views atleast, i mean, they have been confirmed so why not some evidence? i expect them to stick to their word, but i agree that the marketing seems a bit .

although the marketing may have been momentarily stopped due to the rumours of HoE not being released, and didnt want to confuse fans? But hey they can stop now its all been cleared up and show us some more stuff!!

oh and to whoever said its a march release date, its june now im afraid :(

but yes BSP it does look like a good game if you like that sort of thing, but im more for the Planes & dogfights and prefer sinking ships instead of commanding them,
