Ah, but if you order from shopto, they usually arrive the day before release (sometimes 2!)
In terms of Friday the 13th, if Feb has one, and it's not a leap year, March will have one too. not sure of the other.

As you may already be aware, the UK release date for Race Pro has changed to 06-Feb-2009. Changes to release dates are relatively common in the videogames industry and are unfortunately beyond our control.
Is this true, i thort it was comming out 13th Feb.

Every other site I've seen says 13/2 so I don't know, maybe they are right, if so that would be great news :)

It takes about 10days from gold to the stores if I remember correctly from other releases, but at the current rate information is coming from Atari/Simbin we might here about it in June ;)

They are even stating on the Race Pro page on their website that it is the 6th.

Yeah but think about it, GAME are usually good at this and if this info only recently became available to them then it could be believed. Maybe certification of the game went smoother and quicker than thought and it's ready to goto Bill.

We should have made a type of advent calender counting down the days with a picture of each car model featured in Race pro for each day we count down.
on the 35th day untill release day my forum friends shown to me,1 BMW'OOOOOOOOOO.
on the 34th day untill release day my forum friends shown to me,no sign of a DEMO'OOOOOOOOOOOOO....and a picture of a Viper

I'm afraid it was, "Atari has confirmed 13th February 2009 as the European release date for RACE Pro." (from the OXM article)
But things can change and for the first time ever in the following of this game it seems to be in the right direction :chapeau:

Gamestation (GAME owns them) also state the 6th now. I'll wait and see what Play do to be honest, they are usually quite good to watch for this.

You can always get it from the UK one - you have to pay a little postage (not much) but you'll get the game fairly quickly.
No worries, there are other stores in Sweden that sells the game, although they still say 30/1 for release :/
Although I'm sure GAME will also sell the game, their website is just...well, lousy.

Just called both GAME and Gamestop and asked if they had any release dates. "Eh, no" was the common answer, "It's this spring anyways", haha lolblue:

It hasn't went Gold yet (afaik) either which is good. Polishing till the end!
Just ordered it today and they are shipping 12/2. Let's just hope it gets here in time or else I will have to go to a local store and buy it on release day ;)

Late January is what has been said, and I dont count the 15th as late January, next week is when I'll start watching the marketplace more frequently :)
What the...just got an email saying that preliminary shipping is the 17th?! Sounds more like the American release date, maybe they're making it worldwide the 17th instead or have I just ordered from a lousy store? Anyone else got a take on this?
Edit: Just talked to the store, and they said that if they don't get the game on the 12th I wont have the game until 17th :(

LOL, yea, it'd be nice to just wake up and have the game sitting there. After the debacle of the early days of Forza, I swore to myself I'd never get too excited about any game before it's release. But, I've fallen into it again, and am literally counting the days till the demo and full release. It's bad enough now, but it will get real bad when I turn on the box one day and see all my European friends playing it while I still have to wait days to get my hands on it.

At least it's only 4 days for you, GD. With Forza I think it was a week and a half for Europe, and Asia got it before you did as well.

Haha indeed,i sometimes find myself getting far to excited for the release of certain video games and have to look myself in the mirror and have a stern chat to myself and pull myself together.
I really do need to start work on a wheel stand soon too,but at the moment i am either too busy or just want to relax and cant motivate myself enough.With a touch of motivation and a tea and two sugars,it should be made by friday next with any luck.

Take a long run and try to simulate that you are a Mini Cooper while running.. Make lots of VROOOAAAR sounds and crash yourself into a wall at full speed. Then for sure you can sit out the time untill the demo release. With bad luck you will just be awake before RACE Pro 2 comes out
(for those who really want to try this at home: don't mdr1)Better yet, run around at full speed and as a workmate is going around a corner in the hallway crash into him on his side and watch as he continues to walk around and you are sent flying into a plate glass window.

Yeah, I don't suppose we are going to have anywhere opening at midnight for this one.
My problem is I don't drive, and live in a town without a reputable game shop. so I have to take a bus into the nearest city, then go, buy, wait an hour for the next bus, then have a half hour wait on said bus, before I get home. It'll be longer if I take my little boy with me, as I'll have to spend an hour in McDonalds, avoiding all the chavs (sportswear and burberry wearing louts).

Some supermarkets probably will be...although I'm not sure if they sell games after a certain time because the cases are usually empty on the shelves.

Whilst there is no guarantee, I have ordered from gameplay.co.uk (http://www.gameplay.co.uk/) for 10 years or so, and EVERY time I've pre-ordered a game from them, I've had it a day early. :)

Hmm...I'll believe it when I see it TBH, this is a bit too much like deja vu for the last demo time at "Christmas" when we were all saying "it aint christmas yet" but we sort of knew at the back of minds that it wasn't going to happen because we were too close to Christmas for nothing further to have been said :)
Late Jan works until you're nearly there, and then if you haven't heard "this Friday or next tuesday" or something like that, the chances are it isn't appearing...which makes me a bit cynical that the date we have in Feb means "the code has gone gold, it's all in place and the game is deffo released on this date" rather than "Let's all work 24/7 and see if we can hit this new target ...no? Ok..March, demo in Feb" :)
Hope I'm wrong, but too much info that a game would definitely need to be known to have gone gold is conspicuous by its complete absence...and pretty much every new preview / review / interview with the dev that appears doesn't have anything more specific [they could be tardy sites that did their interview a while ago of course and only put it up a couple of days ago, but if not, it's the most obvious question to ask and, if as the dev you new the demo was coming out you'd definitely make sure they mentioned it...]:)

Yes, it seems highly unlikely that we will get a demo this month. They probably found more bugs and issues than they expected so they are really pressed for development time in the final months. So I think they have postponed working on the demo until the game is gold, if not dropped the demo altogether.
I do think the game will be ready for release as scheduled on the 13th. The demo is another story, but since there's 12 days left of January I wont stop believing it quite yet ;)
