Now I have noticed on many racing forum’s that a lot of gamer’s would really love to make there experience even better by buying a racing wheel set for there console, but they just don’t have room for a decent setup.

Fear not chap’s,uncle Brako is here.I was taking a short break and decided to scout the net for some ideas and one of the most storage friendly setup’s was one which i will post picture’s of below in a moment. It seem’s very good for storage as I said but also it actually look’s really usefull, but the very best thing about this is that it is so easy to actually make yourself and you wont have to pay over 100 Euro’s which they are stupidly asking for.

However, for what it is and for what there asking it’s a tad naughty I think and also it does need a little modification for the pedals.

Here is what it look’s like folded on it’s own.

Here is what it look’s like with the wheel folding away onto it.

here are pictures of 2 wheel setup’s on it when it’s in use.

Now as you can see,it has no leverage for the actual pedals and this can lead to a lack of being able to add full acceleration and also ankle strain.I have drew up a very simple plan on how to sort this out though and in the picture above, you will notice it uses a tubular kind of support strut across the bottom,if people were to do the mod that i will show you, then it would most probably be easier for you to use a more square shaped kind of support strut due to making it easier to cut the shape out of the pedal mod needed for resting on the struts.

Here is a simple plan for how you could mod the pedal lift.

Hope this can be of some use to those that want to make there racing games experience that touch more realistic.

Well thank you very much, but we'd both do the same steps and whereas you'd finish with a nice, functional stand for a wheel and pedals, I'd end up with a post-modern metal sculpture :)

Could probably sell it as a Damien Hirst for a cool couple a mill then though eekblue:

Well if your not quite the handyman Leahcim, you could always try this little device which you can buy from Amazon.

All you need to do is learn to either float or gain superior leg strength Haha, and then just use that small block mod to stick the pedals on.If you have wooden floors then its just a case of making a couple of holes on the bottom and getting some sucktion pads so that it does'nt slide when you press your feet to the pedals.

Yeah, these look interesting.

I can't remember if I've mentioned this before, but I've effectively got my MS Wheel attached to one of these :-

Which is, as you can imagine, not exactly the right size chair for a 6' adult :)

The chair is slightly bigger on ours I think. I had to remove one of the wooden bars at the bottom to fit the pedals under the table [that was my "mod" and of course it's made it a bit wobbly :) ]

But it was the only table and chair we had that would realistically go in front of the TV.

I do like these playseats and so on, but you're right about the prices.

I suppose champ that that table setup is actually quite usefull,do you keep the pedals flat on the ground?.And to make the table sturdy again, just bring one of the support beams to the front, that way you can still use the pedals towards the end and still have support from the front.

Hmmm I've got a couple of Recaros in the shed.... I remember seeing a frame arrangement somewhere that you could fit a real seat to but it wasn't cheap.

Indeed,if money and space was'nt an issue for most people then these would be excellent http://playseats.biz/products/

Look at that, you can buy Takuma Sato, a seat and a G25 for 690 Euros. Times must be hard since he lost his drive.

I suppose because you have the legs of a giant type of personidge it wont be to much bother, but would'nt it suit you more if they were at a better angle or do you manage perfectly with them as they are?.

Well when i have a spare moment champ i'll make one and post the intructions step by step for you.If you do get the free time and get around to doing this that'd be great. I've been wanting to sort something out for my wheel for a while now but wouldn't really know where to start without having to pay somebody else.

They seem ok. The chair / table setup is starting to hurt when I play for extended periods.

But, my right arm is injured from using a mouse and my miserable attempts at learning the piano, so I'm usually in less pain when I'm driving than if I was surfing the web or playing TF2, or sat at the piano :)
