originally due to be a launch title for the ps3 with it's original launch date of autumn 2006.
i pre-ordered my ps3 along with tekken 6 in june of that year.
this september (is that the confirmed date?) when the game finally arrives i will have had it on order for some thirty nine (39!) months.
we all saw the early video of jin kazama looking sweaty and steaming for tekken 6 a few months after dark resurrection hit arcades.
what i can't help wondering is where this whopping three year gap came from and what was so wrong that needed fixing so badly?
anyone with comments thoughts or even facts?

i must admit to chuckling at sony losing the exclusivity on this game though ;)
i'll be buying both mdr1

oh i never had any doubt we would see it eventually.
story goes something along the lines of that after tekken 4 namco wanted to reinvent the series to some extent as the positions switches and confined environments of that game lost it's appeal to many outside of the hardcore circle. there was a word used to describe the feeling of joy they wanted to evoke from players for tekken 5 but i honestly can't remember it right now.
what i'm getting at though is that the turn around/reinvention time between tekken 4 and 5 was much much shorter than the delay for tekken 6.
i'm guessing the game must have gone through alot of changes in it's development and that also unfamiliarity with the new hardware must have played a part.
i also think the fact that the game is now coming out for 360 at the same time as ps3 may have played a part - legal weelings and dealings et al...
can anyone give more details about the deal for atari to publish namco bandai games? you see i'm dying to see .hack//gu released over here.
anyway it's still a long wait for autumn...
