Does this game support steering wheels?
Of course it does! We know about the Microsoft and Fanatec (Porsche Turbo S) wheels being compatible already.

Will this game rock?
Hell yes, but be prepared to put the time in - it's the closest to a simulation game seen yet, so don't expect to be able to pick it up and shoot to the top of the timesheets. No nitrous here!

Do the developers read these forums?
Oh yeah - especially the information gathering stickies, but they also hang out and post (http://forums.eu.atari.com/showthread.php?t=88997) from time to time.

Please PM me if you think there are other questions that are being repeatedly asked that we know the answers to! :)

If people have any setup tips or sensible suggestions everyone can do to improve the game experience then please post them here :)

I'll start with a few I've seen already:

Install the game to your hard drive - if possible. People seem to be reporting a smoother experience by doing so.

Give yourself a decent amount of time to get used to the game before judging it - we've already seen some negative first impressions be turned around after people have spent more time with the game and tried some better classes.

Downshift before braking, not vice versa. I know this sounds obvious but I've destroyed a few Minis in the first couple hours of this game learning that.

Sounds like a sure way to blow the engine ;)

Downshifting during braking is the way to go.

Try this .....

Steering Sensitivity ~ 95%
Analogue 1 ~ 0.2x
Analogue 2 ~ 0.2x
Analogue 3 ~ 0.2x
Throttle Sensitivity ~ 95%
Brake Sensitivity ~ 95%
Steering Dead ~ 5%
Throttle Dead ~ 10%
Brake Dead ~ 10%
Speed Sensitive Steering ~ 15%
Global Steering ~ 13º

Everything gets a bit more twitchy!! Harder, but I think, more realistic!!!

Kalniel how do you copy the game to your harddrive? do you have to have Xbox live to do this?

You put the game in, make sure it doesn't boot up right away (if it does hit your Guide button and go to Dashboard Y). Go to My Xbox and hit Y, it should say "save to HDD".. That's it.

My tip to get the most out of this game:

Don't load it up expecting the be the end all be all, 100% complete, super polished, racing sim to end all racing sims.

Remember you payed only 2/3's what you'd pay for a, "full" game.

There is a reason they dropped the price. And I appreciate that.

I have high hopes for simbin's lizard engine and the RacePro series.

But to get the most out of this game? Lower your expectations a bit.

Try to learn the tracks before going online into public rooms. Crashing into someone because you didn't know where the turn was isn't a great way to make friends.

Be respectful of people you race online. That respect works both ways.

Always remember, no matter what, unless you are side by side, the person in front has the line, and it's their line to do with as they please. The only instance when this is different is when you are faster than them, where they are allowed to block once, but then not block again, ON THAT STRAIGHT. This is a gentlemans rule in online racing, but goes back to the idea of respect.

when driving round tracks like pau and porto i've found full downforce helps, i don't lose much on the straights but round the corners if i lose any ground its soon made up and i can brake quite a bit later

EDIT: Never downshift in succesion what i mean by that is when braking don't go from fifth gear to 2nd to fast or you WILL Destroy your engine i did it earlier round valencia come in too hot and tried to make up for it and failed miserabaly lesson learnt

Turn off all assists, set the AI on hard, set a small grid and play the single races. :-)

Also spend an hour or so just doing time trials with a car you like on a track you like. I have played for about 9 hours so far and something clicked this morning with the game. Everything has fell into place and it is now driving nirvana :)

Absolutely loving the BMW Z4 and not even unlocked the super fast cars yet.

Awesome game SimBin

You'll get quicker times with either the hood camera or the cockpit camera than you will with the chase camera.

If you opt for "Tires and Fuel", in the pit options interface, your damage will also be repaired... and oddly enough, repaired back to 100% condition!

When you get the need to refuel msg and icon. It means there is 5 litres left. Some cars will show the amount of fuel remaining in litres while in the cockpit view.

I'm sure it is when there are 10 litres left, as displayed on the digital dash.

I don't know if this is a "Tip" or something that just works for me but, I count the number of Left Turns vs. the number of Right on a given Track and Tune accordingly. For example, if there are more Left Turns than Right Turns then I will add more Right rear Spring and additional Camber to the Left side and "Throttle-Steer" through the corners.
Also, read the "Tips" given about the Track. They offer valuable information on gaining an advantage over your opponent. I like the use of the words "Attack" and "Defend" aswell. Makes things easier to understand and puts things into perspective.

For long sweeping Tracks like Spa or Road America, etc.. max both Anti-Roll Bars. Then slowly bring them down. Increasing Front Braking bias can help too.

Also, don't be afraid of slightly over-inflating your tyres for shorter Races, 1-8 Laps.
