Man this game is sounding better by the minute 10sur10
Nice find Diablo, can't wait for this game
Previews are coming along quite nice this week and already 3 previews. I hope that means we are getting closer to the demo, hoping for next week and not the week after that.

''Think you're pretty handy behind the wheel do you? Managed to wrestle a 200mph Ferrari Enzo around the narrow streets of London in PGR4? Caught a powerslide in a Le Mans racer in Forza? All very impressive, but try those showboating moves in a real vehicle and you'd end up upside down, up a tree and quite possibly on fire.''
GREATEST opening quote of a review EVER! hahaha
10/10 for getting my attention!
"Still, with the option to run a straight championship for each vehicle class, the option for realistic coherency between races is there as well."
Now thats what I wanna do, not 3 race series that if you get one bad result its all over for you like in forza and grid

Yeah shame about this quote tho" occasionally gritty graphics" this should'nt be happening this day and age..

But by gritty...don't suppose they mean realistic and un-colourful?
Like for example, GTA4's graphics were described as ''gritty realism...and shades of brown and grey''

i hope so as i dont want to be playing a game thats not fit for the 360 again.

That's more along the lines of how I interpret gritty in this context, not long until we know for sure tup:

As long as you can tell what type of car your driving and on what track, then that's good enough graphics for me.

+1. I don't care about LOD, I want a decent looking (and from what I've seen so far it really does) Physics reliant Driving SIM. Real can't happen, but functional can. I don't want photo realism if it means only 4 cars on track.
Just an open question to any of you guys who don't care about the graphics: do you come from a PC background? I can definitely understand where you're coming from if you do because glitches here and there are par for the course on the PC - it's something you have to expect given the nature of the beast - but, like I said in another thread, on consoles it shouldn't be acceptable because of the fact that it's a fixed platform.
Before I get thrown off a cliff or burnt at the stake, this has nothing to do with what I think of the game itself as I am looking forward to playing a proper sim for the first time, but SimBin needed to realise what sort of expectations console gamers have before bothering to do this. If the console gamer is going to get graphical glitches (note: glitches, not poor graphics) and constant patches then they may as well have just stuck to the PC market. I haven't written the game off, in fact I wouldn't even be here if I didn't care about it, I'm just trying to weigh up the debate without giving SimBin a free ride.
i have never played a game on my pc in my life, and i think the graphics are fine in this game...
Nope not a PC Gamer here either, I just remember the fun I had with the original ToCA's and want to relive those days. *aah nostalgia*

Nope,i am not a pc gamer either. The reason graphic's are'nt important to me is because on console they usually substitute one for the other, either great graphics and poor gameplay or great gameplay with good graphics.Personally i think Race PRO has them both anyway,it look's a lot better than Forza 2,and at the same time we get our first sim racer on console.
I wouldn't say it looks a lot better, maybe on par. Which is fine, but that was never my point. I'm talking about graphical glitches, such as framerate drops, shadows and level of detail dropping in and out so noticeably, not the fidelity or style of the graphics themselves.
There seems to be different builds going about, it's possible and such builds certain tracks and cars haven't been completed. It's when you hear that the magazine or website has a review copy that's when you can concentrate on the criticism.
For example the Gametrailers video had some issues with vsync I noticed but watch the teamxbox videos and they are really fluid and smooth. We won't know until the real reviews come out or we have the game ourselves, the demo won't show it fully as most demo's are taken from a current build and not a final.
If you're not sure, then wait and see what the racing mad squad say.
So the awful screen tearing wasn't my computer? I was getting very minor tearing in the TXB videos but they were fine as far as most everything else went. I just assumed it was my PC being a dick with the GT video but if you were getting it as well then I hope it was just some problem with their encoding or a really old build, because that was abysmal.

There was visible tearing in the TXB videos. It was most obvious during the chase cam views.
However, if one plays exclusively in the cockpit view the tearing may not be an issue.

Perhap's we are all just getting a little nervous with the release getting ever closer, when the demo comes out i am pretty sure we will be satisfied with the game.If we could enjoy an indepth arcade racer like Forza 2,then i am sure this sim game will be everything we need.
We have all seen the latest video's and the game look's fantastic, dont fall apart now men,it's almost here so hold it together.
If this game can be played well with the joypad(i wont be using that)i am sure it will really help the sales.

Hi guys,
I wrote the article on the OXM website and I'm glad you guys liked it.
I'm thinking of doing a follow up, which is answers to the top questions the hardcore fans want to know. I'd like you guys to choose the three most burning questions you have about Race Pro that previews can't cover because they're written for the mainstream. I'll come back and check this thread and answer them in a list on www.oxm.co.uk
Fire away! Three questions each only please!
Cheers,
Mike
(OXM MightySeven)
1. Is Fuel Load adjustable?
2. Can you irreparably damage the car?
3. Does the AI behave realisticly, or does it just try and bash you out of the way?
1-is fuel adjustable?
2-is the crash sound really that bad?
3-Does the weather change randomly?
1. are short tracks included aswell as the full version of the track?
2. When in career mode, using a car that would normally be asigned to somebody else, (eg, andy prilaux bmw) Does the names on the windows change from his name to your gamertag/name if choosable?
3. Can you use headlights on the cars?

1, Is the fuel load adjustable?
2, Can you play with all cars and all tracks online straight away or do you have to unlock them offline first?
3, Can you turn Martin Haven off when he gets annoying?

Just to clarify because there seems to be some confusion, Martin Haven doesn't appear in the game at all. He's only on the trailer, just like GTR2.
You can have another question if you want jonboy ;)

1. Is multiplayer setup for a full race weekend. i.e practice, qualifying, then two races?
2. Is there adjustable fuel loads and can you change this as well as ohter options when you pit?
3. How does the handling model compare to GTR Evolution?
jonboy1066

Thanks Mike, in that case.
1, Is the fuel load adjustable?
2, Can you play with all cars and all tracks online straight away or do you have to unlock them offline first?
3, can the race distances be adjusted one lap at a time to make for short sprints of say 4 laps up to enduros of 100+ laps?
Thanks
