View Full Version : Anyone else have this problem.....?
After a hard day at work , I look forward to relaxing in front of my Xbox playing all sorts... but just recently I have come across a big problem...
I get home , Turn my Xbox on , Try to decide what to play , consider many different games , then realise the only game I want to play is Race Pro , Turn the xbox off and trawl the internet looking for info on the game and demo....
Im 35 years old , Shouldnt I be able to forget it for a few more days and play something else !!!
Damn THQ if it wasnt for them , we would be talking about Simbins 2nd console game and I would still have something that I wanted to play !!lolblue:

same ;D except for the 35 years old bit :D
I experience the same thing, all I ever play now is the occasional COD5, but that gets boring after 20min so then I'm back here :(
Haven't touched my wheel setup for over a month now, saving it all for Race Pro, just to get that special feeling sliding into the seat and firing up the Race Pro demo, oh I get excited just talking about it
The demo would cure my issue... cant be long now ..... can it !!??

I hope it isn't long and it shouldn't be.
They said mid-late Jan. So we are getting nearer :D
well we got the 'mid' bit out of the way ;)
and im excatly the same, turn my box on, look for demo, see its not there and then come on the internet looking for some info before deciding what game too play simply on what my friends are playing, so boring lol

I've remembered an old PC game called Descent 3, a 3D flying, shooting game. It's been the only thing that will keep my mind off of race Pro.

I've been doing the "check for demo" and the "past 24 hour" search in google for q=race+pro must be popular :)
But I've been playing Forza 2. I've recently switched assists off and I've been driving some of the silly muscle cars and Shelby Cobra. Stuff like that. I figured I was going to start race pro sans assists and thought it'd be an introduction.
The funny thing is though, for all the fuss and talk there is about assists, that my times are the same. It was basically a couple of hours to adjust from "plant foot through floorboards" to "squeeze on power" and then a few more to beat some of my previous best times posted with TCS on.
The latter was hard more because I don't really have any idea how to go faster, except that, every so often you beat your ghost anyway and after that it seems easy to get similar times.
Then I just felt a big "so what?" afterwards, although you do feel a bit closer to the driving so it's definitely more immersive switching them off and worthwhile, I wouldn't pay much attention to any of the typical guff folk write about them driving without them.

I never even played Forza 2 with assists on. Any racing game I play is automatically set to manual transmission because I set my preference to that. But I also switched off all the assists straight away. That way it became natural almost instantly instead of having to adjust from having assists. It's sort of like doing drugs. If you have never done them, then you don't know what they feel like, so you can avoid them effortlessly without even a thought, since they are meaningless to you.
So really, assists are like drugs. Don't do drugs.
Nerds.
the only game ive played recently was NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 in a LAN party...but that;s about it. I guess the big wait for the demo keeps us searching

I had a five pound voucher and was so bored of waiting for Race PRO that i almost bought Forza 2 for £5.Managed to see sense though and realised that that could be £5 going towards Ms points for Race PRO DLC eventually.
