Why is there so many negative reviews for this game?

Ive been waiting for this game to reach the stores but now i dont know what to think, after reading so many bad things. i could understand if i was on a ps3 fanboy site reading a bad review but some of these comment have been made by xbox gamers.. mmm i dont know what to think now..
I may just rent it for a short while and see what its like..

Has anyone else got a funny feeling about this?:bravo:

Stop reading good or bad reviews and judge it yourself. I have seen so many nitwits trying to write a review that it was sometimes hilarious.
You and only you can decide if a game is good or not. Not some arcade-racer behind a desk that has no clue what he is talking about when it comes to simracing.

My 2 cents

My funny feeling is due to my less than stellar skills behind the virtual wheel. I think that sim racing fans will enjoy the game. And PREviews actually highlight the fact that it does a GREAT job at that.

Where people are bitching is that it doesn't have the *BLING* of some other console racing games. It's not easy, it's all about racing, and it doesn't have the prettiest graphics EVAR on a console racer.

But as BramH points out, you'll only know once you try. And we can only hope the Demo is a good enough thing to judge by.

By reviews what do you mean?

So far ive only seen a couple of previews and all the official previews are very positive about it.

I think the issue that currently is at work is this.

Its being advertised as the most realistic sim ever to hit a console, which if it stands up to any of its siblings in the simbin catalog it will be. Forza and GT5 will be forever relegated as pure arcade racing.

The forza and gt5 fanboys have all heard the advertising, have never ever been exposed to a simbin product so dont have a yardstick with which to judge it and are basing there judgements of rubbish driving being shown in the video clips.

That is the true issue at the moment...all the videos bar one that ive seen have poor drivers at the wheel, all the aids on and crash and bump into everything in site. For the most part it seems as if the ai are set very low as well and there awkward looking driving isnt helping.

IF and it is a IF untill its released...if its as good as race 07 and gtr evo on pc on which it is based then it will be the best racing sim ever released on console ever.

Those guys miss the point of sim racing by a mile. They expect you to take up some glorified race driver seat, with you leading a double life as a mafia hit man, for it to be a good title.

Obviously I am exaggerating but, they don't look at the realism aspect, they want story line and everything else that a sim racing game shouldn't be.

Yea, the same people who think Race Pro isn't good are pretty much the same people who think Grid is the best thing since sliced bread. Totally unconcerned with what any media type says about anything, especially video games. :)

Excellent post there Georgia, you're spot on mate.

Due to the realisim in this game there are bound to be many that are put off. For me personally I couldn't give a monkeys what other people say because aslong as I enjoy it then it doesn't matter what others say.

A good example of how reviews can be misleading is GTAIV & Burnout Paradise. Both of these games recieved excellent reviews and yet I thought they were rubbish. The problem is whereas I can spend 3hrs happily hotlapping, for some people this would seem boring. There are many different ways of enjoying a racing game and for me laptimes is where I recieve my enjoyment.

Im just waiting for the demo to see what the physics engine is like because im not really bothered about the graphics.

I would like to add that I do hope each car has its own leaderboard like GT5 Prologue. This was the problem with FM2 because it mean't many of the cars in your garage were unused due to certain cars dominating each track.

Gaming is a form of escapism from the harsh realities of real life.

GRID was very popular because it is pure escapism. If you attempt to drive a real car the same way as in GRID, you will die in real life.

I'm pretty sure you will also die if you attempt to drive your car in the same way as any Simbin title. :bravo:

This makes me wonder about the PC games of SimBin. Were there specific cars in a given class that would dominate or, were all cars equal given proper setup and equal driving skill.
Inquiring mind would like to know from drivers of PC versions of SimBin. With so many pro's contributing here, this should be easy to answer.
