hi

I have downloaded (from gamesplanet) a copy of my horse and me 2 for my daugther, but when we come to use it, we get an error containing the words

.\dxrenderer.cpp(787): 0x8876086C: GLUT_ERROR: Could not create device. Error: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL

This happens on two machines, one a desktop, one a laptop, with the same result.

My Horse and Me (the predecessor to My Horse and Me 2) works fine on these machines.

The desktop has a radeon 9200 card, and I have direct X 9c installed, which is working fine.

The download requirements mentioned pixel and vertex shading as a requirement, but that is listed as a requirement for My Horse and Me 1 and we have no trouble running that. Also I think Radeon 9200 has at least some version pf pixel and vertex shader. So unless My Horse and Me 2 has a much stronger requirement (not specified in the download spec) then that can't be reason.

Any suggestions?

thanks

chris

Hi, My daughter just got the same problem,

Installed game, and get the same error when trying to run.

It also does not install the game in the shortcut or menus but does create everything in the correct folders.

Pc is Vista, with Directx latest patch.

Anyone got a solution to this, I have a very annoyed 9 year old.:mad:

Fixed the problem,

Go to the directory where you installed the game on the PC.

Run launcher.exe, this will open up the play screen.

Click configure.

Change graphics to medium and then try the game.
If that works, change it to high but do not tick the boxes below it.
If that works try the tick boxes one at a time.

Mine wont work with the anti-aliasing tick box, if I leave that unticked, it works fine.
