This game is the business!

The Game arrived today and I have played for 2 hours and my first impressions are its fantastic.
I have played all previous racing titles on consoles and pc, and this hits the mark nicely.
Graphics are clean and realistic (i.e not too polished)
Physics are spot on.
A.I seem well balanced.
I have tried 1 online race and it worked perfectly for a 4 lap race. There was a slight frame rate issue whilst practicing and people were joining, but once racing started it was silky smooth and no issues.
The Replays are absolutely brilliant, great camera angles and panning as you would expect from Tv footage. They are probably the best I have witnessed in 20 years of sim racing.
Its very difficult to stop myself from playing it but I had too my eyes were hurting! (getting old you see! (38))
My only critisism is the Force Feedback on my Logitech Drivefx wheel is very poor, barely feel anything.
Its is most definately not a trade in!

cool, this is the feedback I have been waiting on, been wondering if i had made a mistake after reading so much negativity.

on side note, I ordered a drivefx yesterday, how do you rate it? got a momo for pc but bust it so this will double up for pc aswell until i can get either a fanatec or logitech/MS come up with a better alternative.

Yeah thats pretty much my only criticism of the game as well, my wheel doesn't work great with it.

I own both the DriveFX and the MS wireless wheel and for this game it seems like they're about even. The MS has vibration, but the Logitech's pedals and feel are better. The MS feels a bit firmer, but the Logitech has better response and control. Then there's the question of build quality, which has been questionable with the MS wheels... haven't heard anything about Logitechs breaking down, though.

I noticed the lack of feedback with both wheels, before anyone chips in with the "official MS FF nonsense" :wink: It's definitely in the game code which most likely was optimized for much more powerful wheels than are currently available for the Xbox.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying the game.

Everybody needs to remember that you are going to here more hate than love when a game comes out because some of the people that enjoy the game will feel no need to return here and talk about it as they are probably to busy playing it.

cheers for that Ske, it was only 29 quid so aint gonna complain :)

just hope it arrives tomorrow along with the game, would be well annoyed if the game is here and no wheel, I refuse to play driving games with a pad... just wouldnt be right.

Beradd you are spot on, I have noticed all thos that said got it havent posted for a bit so obviously racing their hearts out :) (lucky gits)

First things first, I have never played a full blown sim on PC before ... thought I best make that clear.

Now that's out of the way ..... I LOVE THIS GAME!!

I haven't played it for very long and it gripped me straight away, indeed the first time I drove a touring car round Brands Hatch I had flipping goosebumps ffs!!

I dont care about presentation and graphics (which is a good job), I'm just a race fan ..... a race fan who wants to race in the most realistic environment I can. I this is the best game I've played to date.

I haven't tried the wheel yet because it was too much hassle setting it up while my son was eating, but the controller works really well.

So far so good!!

I am liking the logitech wheel, I previously had a ms wheel but that broke and didnt want a replacement.
I like the compactness of the logitech and it has a great feel.

Hooray for some positive feedback instead of a load of whingeing. Patches hopefully will fix most/all of the problems. A scoreboard wipe will get rid of all the glitched times, and if some people have genuinely decided that they hate the game already, fine,how smallminded is that. I,m just about to unwrap my copy which I pounced on the postman for today,and if I love it great, if I dont I wont be coming on here trying to convince you lot to hate it also.

I couldn't have put it better myself :bravo:, what a great game this is, i have just started using the Wheel, and my word this game just keeps getting better and better.

Here's my story so far, I raced against Mini Cooper's in career mode and was winning by 3 seconds per lap on professional setting (don't know if this changes the AI difficulty to 'very hard' also, I assume it does not, otherwise winning in mini's is well easy)

So after winning the Mini Cooper event I felt the AI was massively disappointing and that the physics were good but nothing extremely difficult, THEN, I went into a single race with 15 other AI on very hard and in WTCC cars (I was in the BMW of Andy Priaulx) and after losing control of the car twice in a race and my best lap being 3 seconds behind the AI (I hope this is because my car was slightly damaged tonguegre) I suddenly fell in love with it.

What I'm trying to say is, don't judge the game on the Mini Coopers, because they're the worst part of this game.
