Rented game this morning. Am impressed, although only playing with pad....think the game has enough potential for me to buy a wheel and really see what it's like. The physics are very good...

However, there are a couple of things I've noticed in the couple of games I've had:

- Maybe I'm blind, but I can't see where the 'time left' is within the sessions. Or is it down to the host to make the decision? Seems crazy if that's the case as we could all be sitting there all day waiting for qualy/race.

- Also, the one shot qualy is a good idea, but is there a time limit as to when you can start the lap?

- There is no indication anywhere about what level of session you are E.G. practice/qualy race.

I am comparing this to GTR1 & GTR2 on the PC which seemed to have a more polished race structure. Apart from that the game has potential - which I hope is proved right when I get the wheel.

This is from the stickies on top

Guide to Online Play in Race Pro Xbox 360:

* There are 3 steps in any online race in Race Pro:
-Open Practice session – where you wait for new drivers to join
-Qualification session – to determine the position on the starting grid
-Race – to race against other drivers

* The Qualification step is optional. You can bypass it by selecting “No” for Qualification in the Host Setting screen.
* It is important to note that the host leads and “times” everything. It can sometimes take time for him to start a session or go from one step to another, so please bear this in mind and be patient.

How to set up a Player Match session in Race Pro Xbox 360:

1- Go to Xbox Live
2- Select Player Match, then Create Match
3- Choose the race settings such as track, car class, length, player slots…(we advise setting fewer player slots, selecting “Yes” to AI opponents and selecting “No” to Qualification).
4- Choose your car
5- Choose your car settings (default settings are normally adequate)
6- Press A button to pass to the loading screen
7- Press A button when loading is completed
8- Select Drive and you’re now in the Open Practice session where you wait for other drivers to join in.
9- Once enough drivers have joined, press Start and choose Next Session (when you see the warning message displayed, select ‘yes’)
10- On the Player/Timing screen, press A button
11- Select Next Session
12- Once the loading is complete, select Race, and you’ll then be on the starting grid.
13- Once the race is finished, on the Player/Timing screen press A button. Then you can select Done and then choose a new track to race with the same people and settings.

Useful Tips:

-Either as Host or as Client, it’s better choose 6 to 8 opponent slots / games to optimize the gaming experience.
-As Host, it is important not to wait too long for new players in the Open Practice session. It may discourage players who want to race quickly.
-It is strongly recommended that you join games via the Custom Match option (instead of Quick Match one). You’ll then be able to choose for yourself the game you want to play in.
-Using Private Sessions is also a good way to optimize the network and game performance.
-When you’re not the host, please wait for the host to start the qualifying session or the race. Wait on the driver/timings screen or on the Replay/Monitor/Quit screen (but don’t quit). Loading will start quickly, leading you to the next step.
-Use the Custom modes and check the created sessions. Choose the sessions marked as “Waiting for Players” or “Qualifying”.

Its never going to be as good as the PC versions cause we are just console buffoons, you know what most PC owners think of console owners, SIMBIN didn't think console kids would notice the things they have left out... once i came to terms with this fact and came to terms with the bugs i've not looked back, i love it. I love the ALFA 75!!

Well, bought the Microsoft wheel from Argos (cause there's a 30 day money back return) for 68 quid.
Sadly the wheel didn't fit my desk properly so had to return. Have to say though that for 68 quid the wheel did'nt seem like good quality. I mean the shifters didn't even have microswitches!

It's unfortunate, because I really wanted to try this game with the wheel!!! sour:

Name calling seems a bit strict here AC, everyone is entitled to their opinion even if it isn't the same as yours. I'm no console kid by any means and I have given this game raves for its physics and quality where it's warranted but to say there aren't issues but more a lack of power in the 360 as compared to a pc is just not facing some facts.

There are some basic things needed in this game that even some of us non console kids have seen, some basic things that in todays gaming should be a given for a racing game especially a sim based and promoted game. Things like a proper FF and vibration application not a work around for controller slot 2 along with sliders to adjust your racing wheel to it optimum or, a rear view mirror for the Hood view along with a fuel gauge and tire ware indicator on more then the dash view? These are just a few things that the game should have had from the get go but if SINBIN fixes them then all will be fine for us idiots.

Without getting tit for tat like a total sad , i only mentioned a few issues with the game, i was then upon by a sad fanboy who may or may not work for simbin... no one can ever ever say the game isn't well behind the times with the graphics and it isn't a simulation really either.....referneces to my karting and my brother being a race car driver are there to back this up, i.e. i know about what it feels like to race and drive round tracks in real life.

Why people get flamed on forums for expressing opinions is always a mystery to me, this isn't China i can and will say what i want about games, even if i am on an Atari / simbin forum...the game is good...the game isn't great, look at yourself seriously and try tounderstand this..can you really say its as good as you expected it would be....? just for one, the rain is fun but laptimes remain same as in dry...thats no simulation and the PC boys would of kicked off about that one..

blah blah blah....
No-one is saying you cannot express an opinion on the game, negative or otherwise. Just make sure you do it within the forum rules and without sounding like an idiot.

No-one has been flamed for giving their opinion in the stickied thread asking for opinions that I know of. If you have, please PM me and alert me to it right away and I will take action. In other news, please watch your language and stop insulting other users.

Well his post ripped into me firstly. Becaus ei mentioned despite loving the game, that there were issues, AND that simbin have taken XBOX owners for mugs slightly....again to confirm:

rain has no effect in game

graphics a little first gen

cheating us with amount of cars on offer (350!!! yes dear, course there is, back in the van)

no lap times saved in single player

says you can have 12 online players but then recomend 6/8!!!

and theres more....fact.

apart from this i get enjoyment out of it.

But PC owners would not of stood for the things they have left out..... oh yeah. no fuel gauge no tire wear etc etc, no computer read outs so you know what changes to make to the set ups.

You're wrong about the PC owners comment, Simbin have not taken anyone for mugs either. And AC3UK has received infractions for his comments, but I repeat, I've not seen anyone flamed for their comments in the official feedback thread. If someone does flame you then the worst thing you can do is respond in kind.
