I have seen a few of you guys mention the Speedfreek control add-on, I since done a bit research into them and the reviews don't seem bad.
I was thinking of getting a wheel but this seems like a good cheep alternative. The thing with the wheel is, I think I might have problems at getting the wheel at the right height, I don't have room for a seat, so will be using it on the sofa. My brother had the same issue when he bought one for the PS1 (All those years ago). So I don’t think the wheel is viable option.
So I just wanted to know if you have used the Speedfreek? and would recomend them?

WELL worth the money for driving games. It will give you much better control when cornering.

Anyone know where you can buy them in the UK? Can't find anything via google.

I believe you can only order them online. The guy that runs it is cool as hell. We ought to get him over here and cook up a RacePro Special!! I know he was very active with the Forza Community.
I am going to send him a quick email and with this link attached.

Ah cheers that was my problem, looking for speedfreek, not kontrol. :)
EDIT: Hmm i'm not sure they would benefit me actually as i don't position my thumb on the stick like they show, i put the very end of my thumb on rather than the middle like they show, so i wouldn't really use it.

yes it is. i got one when they first launched. actually you get two in one package i believe.
i have never removed it since i first put it on. i use it for fps or whatever else i play.
if you do order, try "kontrolyourgame" when you checkout. its a discount.

I use the wheel for driving, but for other games, I prefer the Geltabz (http://www.geltabz.com/). They let me position my thumb however I want, as I tend to be a thumbtip guy, myself. They work really well for me.
I got some of these when they were first produced many moons ago and used them for sometime.
IMO they are ok, it allows you to use a lighter touch on the stick because you have vertical parts which will assist the movement and prevent you losing grip, however because the vertical parts are spaced too far apart it doesn't grip you thumb, so you have 2 options
1: Move from side to side and touch the vertical parts to move the stick (this option doesn't allow for fine adjustments, as it requires alot of movement of you thumb before the stick moves, making it slightly jerky.
2: Press more firmly on the stick to stop you thumb moving (and touching the vertical parts) but this negates the Kontrolfreak add on, because thats what you do prior to installing these.
If you could order in different sizes i think it would be great, alternatively get bigger thumbs...

Many moons ago playing MotoGP 1 & 2 on the original Xbox, and then 06 & 07 on the 360 my thumstick is permanently pressed forward (for rider position), this unfortunately transfers to any and all car driving game I play, its just habit now...
The concept of the KontrolFreaks works very well, and back in the early days of MotoGP I wished he'd made one with a back third appendage to press forward against..
But I'm glad his idea has taken off from his first concepts when playing with Forza...

I have kept one on my main controller almost since they became available. I have loved it in many types of games. Recently, I had to retire that controller, as the Kontrolfreek had worn down the stick enough to where the Kontrolfreek would come off. So, I put it on another controller, and away we go!
Definitely a worthwhile add-on, imo.

I received them today FPSfreek and SpeedFreek. I have to say ... Awesome. Driving is more relaxed, but Shooters, my god, suddenly i'm 'good' in CoD4:MW:)
