FRIDAY - 8PM - GMT - MARCH - 2009
Koenigseggs only Cruise. Hardcore Mode only. No Aids. I repeat - No Aids. Did you get that? No? Okay, once more... No Aids. None. At All. Just you. Your choice of controller. The Road. Your Mates.
Me? Off Road. I won't be able to stay on it. lolblue:
No Road Rules. Only ruling is that we stay grouped together. If anyone drops more than 1.0 mile behind (1600yds) then we slow down or stop. I will sit down and work out a high speed seat of the pants oh no I'm getting closer to that side wall route tomorrow. I'm shattered. If I put down how many hours I've played TDU lately I'd be embarrassed. One example - Sunday. 4pm till midnight. Enough said.
1) Colster - signed up via in-game chat
2) Dustwave - after 2 minutes of posting (is that a record?)
3) The Duke - after 4 minutes. I think this one is going to be popular
4) Doobrie
5) Pyrre
6) Robert-Bobert
7) Andrius
8) sleepingbear
Sat on the bench

nice one Dusty. I like your enthusiasm.
The Duke - no worries good buddy. Most of us are going to suck. Me too. tonguegre
Suck, Suck, Suck. Thats me. BTW When I was at school ( many years ago) 1750 yards was a mile. Is this a ruling from Brussels??? :salut2:

nope, i'm wrong. I'm just trying to make a point with the wrong measurements. pogo needs more education. :bravo:

Did they have schools when you were young Duke?
Sign me up. Practicing already. No aids. Ever. I got an analogue throttle and I know how to use it.
Tips for the CCR.
Don't use more than 60% throttle until over 155mph or you spin.
Change gear before about 5500 revs or the turbo kicks in and you spin.
Don't go from no throttle to 60% too quickly or you spin.
Don't try to accelerate going round corners or you spin.
Get that? This cruise is going to have more spins than a washing machine. Woohoo it's going to be fun. Did I mention, my CCR is now my highest mileage car?

i'll be practising tomorrow. yeah, i was thinking that instead of staying away from the insane cars that I should use less throttle and see how much fun can be had. All the noob mode drivers seem to prefer the A class. and this way I won't be so sucky on friday.
Doobrie69
18-03-2009, 01:28
The noobers drive A class because they think the the noob mode aspect and the A class speed plus driving aids makes up for their lack of driving ability - and it does - sometimes. I was doing diner challenges all weekend, and there is a frightening amount of difference between noob mode and h/c. One challenge I did in h/c in 7.5 minutes, then in noob mode, I did it in 6 minutes, then with full aids in 5.15 minutes. 19 hours later I won $590!
BTW, I can't help noticing there is no meeting place in your post. Or route.

bah, let me go to sleep! haha, okay the meeting place is at the west coast market at the end of the road from kelekole. there is a nice big car park there to do doughnuts while we wait for all of us to connect. will devise a good long route tomorrow. your ideas are welcome. :)

You still here? Go to bed! Got to have some long thrashes along a freeway. Maybe that long elevated section that goes across the map to the peninsula. Also the CCR has outstanding brakes, and is actually OK around Kelekole. Hell, what I'm saying is it's a good fun car with practice. Just FTL for as long as possible I reckons.

Suck, Suck, Suck. Thats me. BTW When I was at school ( many years ago) 1750 yards was a mile. Is this a ruling from Brussels??? :salut2:He's probably just lazy and converts it as if 1 yard = 1 meter...which of course, it isn't.

Hmmm - Friday night is Saturday morning here - umm, 20 + 11 - 24 = 7am. I wonder...
Considerations
i. I like to sleep in on Saturday's (at least to 8.30am)
ii. I am not available on Saturday's (usually between 9am and 12pm)
iii. Getting up early to play video games is frowned upon here. Normally try to last until around 10am before playing one.
Don't put me down, but I'll keep an eye on the thread, and if a spot remains, and if I just happen to wake up early on Saturday I may surprise you, but my excuse for crashing will be that I haven't woken up 100% yet.
I feel sorry for Dusty who's going to have to pull over and wait for you guys every 30 seconds or so
I'll be there, of course. :wink2:
I'll be there too, although I definitely need some practise in my CCR :)
A mile is 1760 yards btw :D
Put me down for some of this mayhem
I tried this the other day round the track until I got too disgruntled with the noob moders going past me in slower cars because they don't have to brake for corners.

Pogo, thou seems to have forgotten me, anyways, ill come, but in the weaking CC8s xD
Yay, I have good settings on my wheel now and my pedals aren't over-sensitive, so I have much, much more control over the 'seggs. I'm ready for Friday! I also painted my CCR. It was Foxiegreen (tonguegre) before, now it's light blue-green:

Indeed the young Mr. Bob3rt is correct. What was I thinking of? :aie:
But hey it was midnight, and I had been on since 6 PM. (had a few whiskies too)
And yes Mr. Doobrie, There were schools in Victorian times :reading:
The "old man" of TDU still looks cool.

I CAN'T MAKE THIS CRUISE.
i'm off from work next week and we've got an office move this weekend. I've got to work later than usual this friday so I won't get home in time. :noooo: By the time I get home I'll get online a little after 9pm. I can't make the 8pm starting time though.
My apologies for the lack of a route but I will do a re-run next week maybe as an Edonis vs Enzo type of affair. Also everything will be set in stone from the beginning. :) Sorry guys, I really wanted to join in the fun. :salut2:

That was a fun cruise. Nice and long. Had resyncing problems at the end when we were trying to meet at the racetrack. For some reason I can't connect to people in my friends list at certain times. Managed to connect to Colster in an Ascari later, but I don't think he recognised me in disguise.
I fell over. Trying to handbrake into line for photo, but someone put a tree in the way.:bravo:

Some random spent 15 minutes trying to get in here, then fell thru the ground. Makes a good photo though.

That was a fun few hours of mayhem. Great pity Pogo couldn`t join in. I was waiting at the wrong market, then checked forum and went to SW lighthouse, re-checked forum and went back to wrong market. I could only see gusty on map, but synced straight away. Funny how you can`t seem to see friends on map. Special thanks to my buddy Foxie for keeping back with me when I was struggling. :bravo:
Nice array of colour, and look at that sky.
