Unable to make dialogue choices in EFBB

Hi, I have a problem with dialogue choices in that no matter what key I press, I can only choose the default (top) dialogue choice. This hasn't been that much of a problem till now when I need to speak to Abbott. The game is fully patched and drivers are all up to date. I'm running XP Pro, Phenom 9850 Quad Core BE, 4Gigs, GTX260.

Can anyone help?

2 things become immediately obvious it now being almost 2 weeks since my initial Post. (1) that Support Staff do not read these Forums (or they do not care) and (2) that I seem to be unique in that I am the only person currently using the Forums suffering from this particular malady.

Neither of which helps me a great deal.

For the 37 of you who have so far read my Post, thank you.

If there is *anyone* out there who can offer even the slimmest possibility of a solution to this I would be very grateful.
