Exclamation The maddest, wierdest website in the world......ever!

this is really mad stuff, my mate sent me the link just thought id share it with you lot. a bit twisted, and definitely some odd fetish thing going on, but strangely hilarious at the same time.

WARNING! it contains nudity

Oh mygod - it's all fixed! I can reply without having to scroll all the way out of the Western Hemisphere!! Just the smilies to do and its back to normal - after only - 7 months! Not bad, not bad at all!

BTW, not going to look at gas mask gimps whilst at work, and I dont want their filthy cookies stored on MY computers - you'll have to draw us some pictures, for those in a work environment

I know we shouldn't complain too much given it's a free service, but nevertheless...

Why can't the 'anaemic' smilies be replaced by the more expressive coloured ones altogether? Presumably it is just a matter of linking to a different image. If they want the images, they can be found here:

http://mysite.freeserve.com/infogrames/index.html

I know the ones I did weren't exactly of professional standard, but I found the 'blush' one particularly useful...

It would also be nice if the smilies would appear at the cursor (insertion point) wherever it is in the message, rather than appearing at the end, to be cut and pasted back to the place you want it.

Oh, and by the way – there's no 'thread closed' button image (or the link to it is broken).

A miracle! Thank you, whoever you are... though it would be nice if they were all simply replaced – I find those pale yellow ones slightly lacking in je ne sais quoi... :

BTW Warspite, back on the North American forum, when it was still Infogrames, they called the big-eyed one 'stoned' : , which I thought summed it up rather better than the newer term 'bulb' or ''. Still, can't argue with political correctness, can we now? :

Funnily enough, that's exactly what Cranium looks like when he's stoned.

Not that any of us do drugs or anything. :

Of course not! No one would dream of suggesting such a thing! :

As to the origin of Jesus H Christ, the urban folklore archives suggest that it originated with the Greek epigram IHC or IHS (for Jesus). The second form is still commonly seen on things like altar cloths; the first is a bit more obscure.

There are several explanations for this; a common one (probably incorrect) is that it stands for the Latin Iesus Hominum Salvator (the English J sound instead of the I is relatively modern). A more likely explanation is that Jesus would have been written in Greek in the New Testament, and the approximations of the letters would look like IHCOYC or IHSOYS in Roman characters, which were more widely known by the clergy. The C and S appear to have been interchangeable in Greek at that time. It became contracted to IHC or IHS. It would be a little like saying the first three letters of Jesus' name (the H being not the Roman H but the Greek capital eta, pronounced 'ee').

Source

Any other suggestions are welcome, but I've found the various urban legends sites tend to be pretty reliable at this sort of thing... :

Dude, it was TOTALLY Mark Twain!
He got fired from a typesetting job at a printers, so in revenge, he inserted an "H" into Jesus Christ for the next edition of the bible they were printing! I hope thats true, because it is just ******* brilliant!!!!: :

Just goes to show how these things get around! Mark Twain may or may not have done that (nice story whatever), but he didn't invent the expression. He commented on it himself – see

That would set a precedent wouldn't it?

"Look here, I'm awfully sorry, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to smash your head in - would you mind?"

"Err - oh go on, Buffy's finished anyway":

You know who that reminds me of?

Terry Thomas. If he were one of the Pythons.
