Arcade ?
The steering looks rather arcade to me especially at high speed (NFS 6)

How does it look arcade? It hardly turns at high speed, which is realistic.

guys how on earth do you lot come up with all these answers, in well, all of the posts, you have no idea as youve never played the game, yet alot of us come to these forums to find infomation on this game but every post is full of off topic banter by the same guys, its getting really annoying now

At the end of the day there is no such thing as a 'realistic' video game. They are all just games at the end of the day.

Basically realistic is turning full lock going at fast speeds and you'll get alot of Understeer even if you got some sort of traction control on then your car would still Understeer. Its SIMPLE PHYSICS...

the game ain't arcade. Arcade is a mean word.. It means it's fake physics, fake engine, fake everything *cough* ridgeracer *cough*
If Magic_fr ever read that thread, he'd cry lol. Thousands of parameters are playing on how a car is handling / accelerating etc. We are using all those parameters to make our car reacting as close as possible from reality. That's why all our cars are differents. Because not many car are the same in reality, ours are different as their counterparts in real life. If a car understeer, it will in game.. not because we decided it, but because all data and the physic laws are saying it is ! But, cuz there is always a but It's impossible to have a car fun to drive on a TV with a pad. So, even if we are simulating everything in a car, we need to adapt the controls to the devices players will have to handle the beasties. Just pause for a sec and look at your x360 pad. There's like 2 cm movement on each stick. That's for controling a wheel that turns like 2 or 3 times on itself to controls the direction from one side to the other of the car. I'd call you superman if you could drive a car with that device without a lot of "help". It's those "steering controls" that on differents build made the game "arcadish" or "sim-ish". That's what we are tuning atm among billions of other things. We don't want a "pain in the a** to control" game, where you crash in every corner and jump over every cliffs. But we don't want either a game where every n00b could drive an enzo like the stig. We still want to have fun with those powerful cars tho. Finding the balance is a pain, but we are quite happy with what we have today. The game is quite easy when you are driving "easy" slow cars, vintage and muscle cars for example (except a few models that are real rockets). But when you enter, let say an enzo for example, it's a total different thing. First, you are going hella faster !!! the corners are jumping at you !! you have lot less time to react, the road seems suddenly a lot less large, every bump makes you lose a bit of control on your steering !! Like it would be if you were driving that car at top speed (at least as fast as you dare to) on normal roads. |

another question i know it has been asked before but i must ask again will the cars have there own official engine sound like a mercedes slr mclaren and things like that will they have there own actual engine sound

yeah probably i hope the money aspect of the gsame is hard to earn because in pgr3 the money was earnt straight away i had the mclaren f1 by about the 5th race

ok... maybe the word "arcade" is too much (I don't want to make Magic_fr cry)
but I sure hope this game won't disappoint like Test Drive 6 did , with that SF steering . I just want to play this game with my steering wheel on my pc :P because there are very few games that are playable with a steering wheel (don't know why ) and the playable ones are pretty boring ... just racing along the race track ... no exotics or anything.I hope this game will be a revolution in the racing games scene because it's the most complex racing game I have ever seen ... and I have seen many games

thank god for wireless controllers for this game the only problem is that they neeed bateries and i think that the os3 controlers are going to go wrong because they are bluetooth and you hear what phones go wrong with bluetooth

The game will be completley different from all the other TD's, I mean all the other ones weren't made by Atari so this will be a new start for TD.

thanks Vibro Well, i'm a bit lazy, i'll explain it again, like i already did on US Forums.... for the christ sake, why there is 2 english forums I made car phyics & dynamics in the game. The engine is a pure simulation... mathematic modelisation of real physics Briefly that include * tire model using modified pacejka 96 * 4 wheel independant - rolling resistance, inertia,etc.. * full suspension model - spring - dampers ( slow & fast ) - antirolbars * differentials , front,rear, central - 3 types ( open, lsd, viscous ) - rolling resistance, inertia,etc.. * gearbox - rolling resistance, inertia,etc.. * clutch - rolling resistance, inertia,etc.. * engine - full torque curve ( full injection cartography ) - rolling resistance, inertia,etc.. * aerodynamics - drag - lift - draft effect * Real driving helps - Traction Control - ESP - ABS 4 positions for the driving helps - Full help - Sport - Hypersport - OFF .. i'm sure i'm forgeting some stuff On top of that,i had to create a steering help, because u just CANT drive a car with a funny 1" stick. The steering help is , i think, the best compromise, beetween helping the driver counter steer and keep maximum control of the car. There is help only for countersteering. In the game, after some playing, you will won a ChronoPack, so you'll could mesure yourself 0-60mph.. then you will compare with the real cars cheers,

I wish there was a button on the back of the 360, which says Americans, on, off. Whenever someone turns it off it disconnects all Americans!
