Im giving them a go, but I dont see any huge increases for me anyway(I wouldnt consider my Rig "slow" OR "Low End" just this game is.......
I have tried Crossfire on and off(no Diff) AI Standard and Advanced, Mips from one side to the other it all runs about the same.
I mean of course I will keep your .INI bits because at this point EVERYTHING helps, or at least try to help...

Thanks

I have a P4 3Ghtz, 2GigRam, 6800 poo kind with 128Meg...

SLI, CrossFire doesnt work in this game...
You HAVE to turn your Options on LOW...
Sad there is no options in the Video for us lower machines...

Please make sure you have the Latest Drivers installed ...

Strange Ive NEVER had any problems with my computer like everyone else...
My brother had troubles with his GFX Card a ATI then bought a Nvidia 8800 GTX and now the game flies for him... I think hes going to "fly" out the Window, because I need a better computer...LOL ...

Well sadly there are no options at all(consolitus)

I tried your latest set mate and well they crashed me out on load up.

Keep up the efforts tho lad. I dug thru them myself, but like everything else in this game it is completely un-intuitive, or easy to work with(Consolitus Strikes Again!)

I am course running the latest everything(this rig is as lightweight as possible as most of the other games I play are "technically" alot heavier than this)
I do know that this months Catalysts do have "some" issues but nothing that can't be overcome.Basically everything else I run is at 8x 16x@1600x1200 and it eats all of them for breakfast with room for more(IL-2 GTL, GTR2, rFactor, Armed Assault)Those are all pretty tough customers(Arma is king right now tho, but at least I can run it with Eye Candy on and still get it to run well)

Owman, this is sad to hear... Do you use a ATI GFX card ???
I think NVidia works best with games... Im not saying NVidia is better just works better...

People REMEMBER to turn OFF ALL AntiVirus Programs, Firewall on Low, and DONT USE Tweak Programs, like those that make the games run at 100 Htz...
This kills FPS on higher HTZ... Use 60 or like me 75...

Well I dont see anything anywhere on this game that is says its a Green Team optimized game(I will tell you outside of an 8800 most ATI's do a much better job at this sorta thing(heavy shader stuff overall)this is not an ATI is better thing its just a fact. They are totally on Par at stock but once you start making them work, ATI's will handle better under pressure(read: AA and AF at High Res).

None the less we can debate that bit all day but at this point it seems that it doesnt really matter WHAT card your running you can basically expect sub-par performance. Im afraid its in Eden's hands at this point to fix it becuase they gave us little or nothing to work with to fix it ourselves.

So basically we have about 3 weeks or so of this until it goes Global(all sites still say March 20th)THEN I hope they were be a patch that will at least give us "average" performance.

Nah I know what your talking about with the ATI/AMD thing. In the end they decided to let them keep their name and logo for now.

I built this rig SPECIFICALLY so I could play intensive games in high Res with Eye Candy(Jaggies crawling all over the screen is a HUGE bother for me) This is probably the first game outside of Armed Assault(there was a big patch out yesterday for it)that runs like **** on this machine(ArmA should be sorted now, tho there is some sort of Handles error with it and the current Catalysts tho) thats just simple Hot-fix tho.
I am going to reinstall last months Cat's to see if they are any better(This month is the release of a "more efficient" CP for them but so far it needs more work too)

Im not sure but I think the Shadows are Shaders and are hardcoded in... Eden would have to create the SHADOWS ON/OFF in the Video Options...Been asking for these a long time now ...

No doubt mate. The shadows are ugly as all get out(worse than BF2 shadows IMO)and are a complete waste of FPS IMO.
I hope a PC GUI is in Edens plans for the patch because this ported Console one is the absolute PITS to make any real adjustments

I'm with you on that one, shadows are always the first thing i cut if i need better performance. these ini files help me a little but still the game is far from playable, as a matter of fact it's only slightly better in performance than the beta was so seems they didn't accomplish **** in the few weeks that they pushed the release back..

PLEASE Drive like THIS :
Press "C" until you drive infront of Car...Its the only way to drive with Max speed...OR until Eden REMOVE the Shadows/Shaders that kill performance...
BTW NOW I know why the Traffic drives like Carmageddon...
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...rafficSign.jpg
LOOK at the Signs on the right...LOL...
Not only do they want to kill you BUT Ive calculated out oncoming Traffic...
What a shame, nothing is Random in the game instead of Scripted Traffic/AI and Missions ...
On the Oncoming Traffic there is a Calculation in the Traffic that will Sling Shot a Car into the Oncoming lane calculated by your Speed so the Car infront of you is exactly beside the car on the oncoming Traffic, creating a Sling Shot effect and BOTH cars will be beside each other WHEN you are there at the same time... ... So boring... This is why everyone crashes into cars at higher speeds... Its all Calculated for maximum crashes into you...

SHADOWS arent in the INI Files... Not that I see... I see the Sun and Clouds and Glowing Fake GFX, and the Grass of course... Not seen the Shadows, maybe there there but nothing says "Shadows" like the others...

hmmm..how come i don't experience that annoying traffic, imo the traffic is better than most, atleast they signal where they're going to turn though i haven't even played much, maybe 1-2hr cuz i have terrible performance still..

oh btw, thanks for the .ini files NecroViolator

is there anything else that can be done with the ini files or anything else?

like the peices of paper and leaves ive seen floating around? maybe that will free up a few frames.

god this reminds me of when Flight Simulator X was released, everyone was trying to squeeze as many frames as possible out of the game
